Roots of of the Sabaody Archipelago, Grand Line
2.000 Meters Deep
Water drops were cold against his body, cooling the warm and tense muscles from the intense workout. Shutting the shower, Zoro grabbed the towel and left bathroom of the workout area. As he stepped in the lawn deck, he picked his coat, passing it over his shoulders before heading to the poop of the ship.
It has been his ritual for a long time, and he was quite happy to have returned to it, after the 2 years of separation. Zoro removed his swords from the waistband and tilted them against the wall. Then pressed his back to it, and fell sloppy on the floor, raising his eyes to the sky above.
What were once countless constellations, intricate patterns drawn of shinning dots of distance light, is now sea. Pressing against the bubble, the fearful ocean seem much more at peace. Even the giant roots of the mangrove were insignificant to the magnificence of the roaming whales, humongous cattle of the sea, finding it's aimless way through the scarce rays of moonlight that dared to infiltrate the dark waters, filling them with a multitude of colours, scales of numerous fishes.
In a way, he was still gazing the night sky.
As Zoro prepared to close his eyes, he noticed Lilianne, laying on the edge of the roof, also consumed by the breathtaking view. She had missed dinner earlier, and still seemed apart from everyone else.
Roronoa Zoro - Eh...
"Eh? Why'd I care? It's not my business anyway... Damn it, she heard." Lilianne looked down and gave him a shy smile, which immediately made him awkwardly look down.
Roronoa Zoro - Hum... Why did you miss dinner?
Lilianne Dieu-le-Vent - I wasn't feeling too well...
Roronoa Zoro - ...
Lillianne slipped along the wall, and gently fell on the floor, near Zoro. For some time, neither said a word, simply stood there, staring at the undersea night sky.
Lilianne Dieu-le-Vent -Why did you join Luffy? he doesn't seem quite the obvious choice for a captain...
Roronoa Zoro - I thought the same at first...
Lilianne Dieu-le-Vent -What made you change your mind?
Roronoa Zoro - Luffy did... Who knows why... *shrug*
Lilianne Dieu-le-Vent - ...
Zoro bowed his head down in introspection, and after a while he murmured.
Roronoa Zoro - Why are you here?
The question got her surprisingly out of guard. There were many secrets kept inside her. When she was about to answer, Zoro raised his head again.
Roronoa Zoro - Everyone keeps secrets, but it doesn't matter, really. None of us care... From the moment he accepted you, we all did.
Lilianne bowed her head now, for the first since their conversation. There was an unknown feeling inside her, making her as much uncomfortable as comfortable. She pressed her back against the wall and forced herself up.
Zoro's expression tweaked. He was acting rather differently, and was feeling strange. His voice unexpectedly broke, and came out a whisper.
Roronoa Zoro - Wait...
Her body froze in place. Zoro tilted his chin upwards, and she managed to turn her head in that direction.
Brook came carrying his violin, and silently pressed it against his shoulder.
Never did she heard such marvellous sound. All the undersea stars danced in rhythm, following a light brighter than the moon. Her mouth opened in awe.
Zoro frowned his eyebrows, in response to his unusual actions, but soon all was erased from his mind. he closed his eyes and leaned to the wall with a smirk. For quite a long time, the violinist filled the bubble with such bright and beauty, leaving in awe all it was baring. He was not playing for himself, but for a friend, unsuspectingly playing for an delighted audience.
As he finished, he looked back to his two listeners, and rather calmly said.
Brook - Oh! Lili-chan, Zoro, I didn't see you back there...Though, being a skeleton, I don't even have eyes to begin with. Yohohoho!
A lone tear fell from Lilianne's eye, snapping her out of the trance she was into. She immediately shook her head and remembered her purpose. She wasn't there to make friends. She wasn't there at all. A mere pawn has no emotions, no dreams, no friends. Quickly moved away, leaving behind the sleeping swordsman, but as she entered the room, a shout was heard.
Nami - LUFFY! EVERYONE!! RAISE THE SAILS IMMEDIATELY!!
The calm shattered to the roaring growl of the undersea falling waters. Every Straw hat ran to the front of the deck, to report to Nami's call. As Luffy witnessed the precipice in front of them, he froze in place, making Usopp slam nose first into him.
Usopp - Why, LUFFY!! Why'd you stop in the middle of the road?! eeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEh... O.O
Something quite like this as he saw the waterfall.
Face he quickly changed to a ---> -_- as he saw Luffy's eyes, glittering with amazement, to the awesomeness of the water structure.
Nami's head grew hideous and ferocious, as a response to Luffy's lack of motion.
Nami - LUFFY!
With a huge bump on his head, and quite several smaller ones escalating from the previous bumps, he raised the sails. Nami yelled several other orders, until she finally seemed satisfied...
Nami - Okay, everything set. Down we go.
At that point, almost everyone's jaw's pierce a hole on the deck. Luffy from excitement, Franky, Usopp and Chopper from wtf'ness, Brook because his request to see Robin's pants was politely turned down, Sanji because Nami's smexyness made him burst another nosebleed Don't worry, he landed on the Observatory Room and Zoro because at that point, he yawned in his sleep.
Lilianne entered the women's chambers silently and went to bed.
And down they went.
Quite a Long Time After
Unknown, Grand Line (?)
10.000 Meter's Deep
Usopp slowly opened his eyes, though unable to see because of the sudden burst of light.
Usopp - A-am I dead? I am, Yohohoho!
One by one, the Straw Hats began the slow process of adapting to the newly found light. As the first aspects of the terrain became distinct, they discovered the secret for the unexpected light. Multiple meters above them, a bubble ceiling was pushing back the dark water, where one or other odd shaped silhouette would show it's hideous face, only the lose itself on the abyss again. More magnificent than that, was a huge bubble pending from the ceiling.
Inside it, multiple other bubble formed an intricate pattern, each containing bright spot of light whose rays descend upon the whole terrain, an artificial sun beneath the water.
Beneath that bright sun, a huge island spread through the horizon, holding Sunny in the middle. Franky jumped off the ship only to find it stuck on strange fluffy plants, as he was about to say anything, Sanji burst out laughing.
Sanji - BUAH! AH! ZORO!
Zoro raised his eyebrow, which started to tweak in frustration.
One by one, every one started laughing, which only served to increase Zoro's frustration, and the occasional threat of someone getting cut.
Sanji - Marimos!
At that point, everyone but Zoro was laughing out loud, sound only equal to Zoro's shouts and threats. The whole island was filled with marimo-like plants. Sunny was now stuck on a huge Marimo island, some, like the ones where they were now, short and fluffy, and others, in the distance, tall and wide, forest of marimo, everywhere within the reach of the eye.
The Sunny was stuck on a huge Zoro Head, fact that Sanji made sure to point out.
When Zoro was about the cut someone, the captain shouted
Monkey D. Luffy - SANJI!!! Pirate Lunch Box! ADVENTURE TIME!
And so the preparations began.
