Why are genjutsus so useless

First of all, simply bitting your tongue isn't a sufficient ammount to pain to break a genjustsu, especially not an A ranked one. Breaking a bone or stabbing yourself, in the middle of a battle, is not something everyone can have the luxury of doing. It means your movements will slow down, and the power exerted by that limb will be weaken.

Description: Traps user in an illusion were they first think that they are sucked into he ground to shoulder height and then they see butterflies but they are really paper bombs that explode once the user puts the main seal on the enemies head.

While underground, the opponent is unable to move anything but the head. Meaning that you prevent him from doing handseals. You already know that bitting your tongue isn't enough, so your opponent will have to severely injure his tongue our mouth, or even rip it off xd

Btw, the tags don't appear out of no where. If you're unable to move, or unable to release a bunch of tags against your enemy, then the second part of the jutsu doesn't happen.

I will ask for your aid whenever someone says that he/she can break a genjutsu by biting his/her tongue.

So he believes he buried in the ground,so i believe he should use a lightning jutsu that requires no handseals to rip the earth of like nagashi so as he uses it i will use a water jutsu.>.O
I think this should workxd

Also instead of butterflies if i make the opponent see explosive tags(illusion)it should instill fear in him ,instead of some lame butterflies >.>

And as he believes he is underground,what will happen if he really uses underground fish projection etc?

And also how many turns this gen lasts?

Okay. I'll will judge if the amount of pain used is enough to break through the genjutsu.

Well, the jutsu doesn't especify the colour nor the shape of the butterflies. You could use black butterflies with ripped wings and devilish eye's drawings O_O. These butterflies are made to disguise the cloud of tags that you throw. If you don't, it will be much more obvious to your opponent, don't you think? So in my opinion, small and cute butterflies would be more than enough, and if you use them right, your opponent wouldn't even do anything to the butterflies, because they don't inspire danger.

These genjutsus don't have an expiration date, unfortunately. But I guess 3 turns are more than enough.
