Yamato is going to die. Why? Because he is named after a Japanese battleship that was sunk during a world war 2 battle. So, when Yamato goes into a serious battle next time he will die.

My theory only makes sense.
Yes the worlds larges Battle ship was name Yamato, but the name came from Japanese legend, a great Hero of its past.

Kakashi vs Yamato: Kakashi is frequently called the next in line for Hokage for a reason. He knows over 1000 jutsu, and when he does fight he seems to always have a new ability he uses, and not old one's. He is brilliant, and earned a MS. Yamato is a weaker version of the first, suffers from lower chakra like Kakashi, but also does not have a range of abilities per our knowledge outside of Wood. Sure he was born with a mastery of two/three elements, but his progress seems to be stalled at wood release abilities. They are both elite level ninja, but Kakashi was a prodigy before he got the MS. He has the edge at this point. Keep in mind Kakashi knows all of Yamato's abilities and Kakashi never uses the same exact jutsu out of Chidori, and knows thousands more.

Kakashi vs Kabuto: They were compared a LOT when the manga first came out, and for the first 150/200 chapters I would say. Remember, just because Naruto beat Kabuto means nothing, as Tsunade helped him. Kabuto was referenced to have the ability to beat multiple Anbu ninja at once. This only proves they are on or were on a simular page. Remember, this was before MS or Kakashi improving the Chidori. Kakashi got stronger and surpassed Kabuto at this point, but with Oro's DNA, Kabuto's unique Medical abilities (Which Kakashi really can't copy) and then Oro's quicker healing and Jutsu reach (As shown by Sasuke) Kabuto would win.

Kabuto vs Yamato: This would be interesting, although Kabuto gets the edge due to the logical train of thought, I want to say Yamato's reach of abilities may prove more impressive against Kabuto. Kakashi knows Yamato's abilities as they worked together, but the extent or application of ability is different from notes about other ninja from the bingo book. Kabuto will underestimate him. Wood mastery is very unique and has a large scape of uses as we have seen from the Team Seven Arc when Naruto turned four tails. The whole reach of the ability is yet to be shown to us or Kabuto. Even Oro's summon of the first showed anyone real wood-element abilities.

The last note I will give is Yamato would leave. He is analytical like Kakashi, and knows when he needs to pull out. Kakashi being stronger and knowing that he is hands down the strongest shinobi in the leaf outside of the Hokage and Naruto, would stay and give his life to stop Kabuto or hurt him. His life is frequently on the line and he is willing to give it if to hurt a strong opponent. Consider is stupid or gutsy, Kakashi is one of a different cut than Yamato, deeply because of upbringing/working on teams with children. Yamato would take the help of anyone who would give him the edge, or flee if it is the best option. I feel because of this and Kabuto being 'stronger' that he will not die. Captured? Maybe, die, odds are no.

What Kabuto wants and Kabuto gets are two different things, Naruto and Bee are still their even if Kabuto has brought a dead man for help. If Kabuto under estimated Naruto's new abilities the game will be over for Him.
...

Again with the wise man thing. How old are you? That really doesn't have anything to do with the thread.

A few mistakes here though...
Kakashi upgraded his Chidori to Raikiri before the Naruto series began, as seen he used Raikiri on Zabuza.
Also, Kakashi is the strongest out of the leaf, next to perhaps naruto, but he is definatly stronger than Tsunade is.
If kakashi truly masters his mangekyou ability he would be an unstoppable force, seeing a Sharingan can follow about every movement, and if he focusses on the thing he sees he can make it go into another dimension.
I'd actually say that Kakashi would be a good fight agaisnt kabuto without the summons from edo tensei.
I also think Yamato also got quite the few nasty jutsu up his sleeve, besides mokuton he also possesses mastery of suiton and doton styles.

This this will be interesting,

Regarding kabuto a lot people have this assumption that kabuto is holy shit godlike. We have to see kabuto fight to see what changes he underwent and to begin with he was never really that of great ninja when it came to open fight encounters.

Absorbing orochimaru doesn't make u a god, it does help like it did for sasuke but in end its only help.

Its looking more and more like its going to come down to Yamato v kabuto. Lee is messed up, the other two probably dont compare in strength and Bee is going to have to stay wth naruto.

I bet Yamato stays with Naruto. Motoi and Killer Bee will go to fight Kabuto/Manda. Killer Bee will get captured before Naruto is alerted about the fight. When Naruto comes out to help, Kabuto will escape with Killer Bee.

I wonder why people think kabutomaru is so much more powerful, kabutos true power is his knowledge of past, current and future events. that has always been his ace in the hole. oro was in no way more powerful than pain but bc he was a snake he learned things thought to be off limits, so no matter what kabuto got from oro it would not increase his power that much. the only thing we know for sure is oro has mastered the jutus revises the dead.... the only thing kabuto has now is the ability to fight on par with s-rank ninja/ kage level(maybe). kabuto has surprise on his side no expects him to be how he is so ninja will take him lightly. but kabuto has always been full of himself bc of his knowledge and that will cause his rise to power but also be his downfall from power.

if we all would be real about it yamato is able to fight on par with s-rank and kage level, bc the leaf kage sent yamato as team 7's leader, now many would say that's bc he could control naruto. Yes thats true but, yamato had to have the skill to protect his team and take down ninja that team 7 did not have the ninja knowledge/skill to defeat. yamato's is always known for saying well i guess i have to get serious.

if kabuto get yamato its to progress the story not bc he is more powerful than yamato

Agreed. People seem to forget that not only was Yamato an anbu, he has the most successful missions of any anbu. He was not only chosen because of his unique control over the kyubi chakra, but because they knew akatsuki would be after naruto. so they had to trust in Yamatos ability to not only control him, but protect him as well.

We know that Kabuto was around the same level as Kakashi but with Orochimaru's power his power should increase a lot. Seeing as last chapter Kabuto isn't just coping Orochimaru but is surpassing him. He claims to have completed Edo Tensei better than Orochimaru and Tobirama, Kabuto made Manda Orochimaru's top snake bigger, badder and arms. We haven't seen how Kabuto uses Orochimaru snake jutsus. With Orochimaru's white snake healing powers it would increase his healing powers dramatically.

We never actually saw Yamato in an actual fight but we know he is around the same level as Kakashi.

I think Kabuto has this fight but Yamato couldn't go out like a fodler seeing as he has the 1st hokage's kekei gengai.

I think as of now Kabuto would win this match up. Since taking on Orochimaru's cells hes grown rapidly in strength.

But the biggest issue for Yamato is his worth in the manga. Kabuto just has a much richer storyline as of now so theres more of a reason to keep him around. We still need to see some sort of Kabuto vs. Sasuke match up, we still need to see more resurrected Akatsuki in action, and most importantly we need to find out who was raised in the final coffin. None of those things can come to fruition if Kabuto were to be killed here. Also now that its been revealed that Kabuto has interest in Yamato for being a pseudo-clone of the first, sadly Yamato is worth more to the story dead than alive.

Think about it, what would Yamato defeating Kabuto add to the story?

Also something I just thought of. Up until this point Yamato's main role in the manga has been protecting Naruto and keeping the Kyuubi in check. Naruto has since then became much stronger than Yamato and now can fully control the Kyuubi. So Yamato's one role no longer serves any purpose.

Sorry to say Scary, but it seems that Yamato's role in this manga is over. Well....his role as a living character that is. He will still live on as a Kabuto experiment. :p
