I personally appreciate the sentiments. I personally think we all, INCLUDING staff, should just have fun with the RP the way it is. Until the fire dies. People still play dead video games because they enjoy them. This is really no different.Whew, lots of emotions.
From my side, RL started kicking my butt (work, personal stuff, etc). I tried my best to manage Sensei stuff with training, and checking customs for Sensei first and then the rest (we had some changes after some stuff), but I wasn't the 23 year old Uni student anymore that could handle 50+ training threads, burn through the customs thread, and use every bit of free time to build my customs up here on NB - life had changed.
It's unfortunate it turned out this way, I've only always had love for this game. I've never had ill intentions nor any beef, I don't care for politics between people - and this place will always have a special place in my heart. RP was an important core of my teen days, and I made friends here that I think, I'll keep for life. Same goes for the memories.
I took on the mantle because I thought I could help rebuild something that was dear to me, but it unfortunately didn't work out that way. And even if life calms down, things have changed, and we've all grown older and became adults with adult responsibilities.
Nonetheless, just wanted to give my 2 cents - since I see my name was mentioned a few times for not doing anything, not training, etc. Given, I wasn't always a strong CJ checker, but I always did my due diligence (maybe a bit too much) with making sure techs aren't abusable - and always tried making training interesting. I was a bio mod for a long time, and in charge of Sensei for what it counts, but that was also years ago and the game had changed (still beat Vayne recently though! Thanks for the good fight).
When there were complaints from fellow Sensei on my checking, I went back and tried getting back into the current meta, even during this busy time - and I checked what hadn't been checked by Dan - and even told him I'd carry the load where need be - but I guess it was too little, too late?
Outside of the backhanded comments and whatever, the aim was always just to play the game we all loved growing up but I guess some things do come to an end. And if not, I wish it only success going forward. I told LoK back in Jan that he can take back the Sensei title if it got too busy for me after that were complaints and I guess a coup (is it written like that ???) to remove me lol. I accepted that I wasn't the same knowledgeable Mod anymore, nor was I top tier fighter - so I accepted that I'll go through everything again to make sure I check things within the current meta, etc. I had Discord calls with Zaph to check customs in tandem, and we went through a dip, where everyone was gone, only to find myself kicked from the Sensei Discord. I messaged Chris about it, but he's been quiet too.
ANYWAY, feel like Caliburn writing this whole life story here smh. That's my side of the story, I tried to the best of my ability, and I'm sure others would have fared better, perhaps? I don't know. I still instinctively log in, and Zaph and I can keep going, but it doesn't seem like the common consensus that we're anyone's favorites lmao?
And like Mox said, there's like 3 people here, and people always leave cause of whatever stuff. At the end, it's a game we all love and put a lot of time into (have you seen my customs thread smh).
Thanks for coming to my TedTalk, guys T_T
Unless LoK makes changes to staff and/or hands the mantle of RP admin to someone else, the game stays in its current state. My only issue is handling currency and moving bios to the approved section. It will just become a mess otherwise but outside of that, if we can all be mature about it, we can just freely play the game with the current rules and abilities and still have fun with it.
Thanks for the good fight).
