As someone who was in both camps, Yang's best feature is giving sentience to things and letting them fight for you while Yin's is literally bringing imagination to reality.

Main differences is Yang is mostly numbers (speed, damage, durability, etc) while Yin is mostly creativity. Its easy to see which is preferred amongst the base.

PotS, Change into Hell, Onibi. But Onibi is only accessible in yang state. So I guess Yang State too. Then the rest. Because the rest are also good. I love the whole thing. One of the most fun abilities. Not because of power but because of versatility. You can make the entire match more fun for yourself through things like Change into Hell. The freaking 8BGS is fun too as they are sentient and can talk to you as well as take on the form of any element or advanced element as long as you specialize in yang or have Y/Y I think.

That's a great way to put it. I would assume Yin is preferred though. Simply because it is more versatile in my opinion. That's not to say that Yang isn't also ridiculously good though.

If someone is going to blitz someone, and someone uses yang to compete with said blitz, that's not boring that's surviving. What's boring is blitzing someone who can't keep up.
