Sounds like a plan. I will 100% do co-op missions with you. Skorm and I just got done one but it was less of a co-op mission and more of a battle but we both initiated the mission via battle so we will both be getting paid just by giving each other a few love taps. The game is so vast now, man. You'll love it. If you need anything, anyone who plays including myself is down to help.
What's the easiest way to understand the current lore/factions? Is there any, or is it more individual stories? I have so much to learn.
A new Arc will be starting soon. So I don't think there is any as of yet. That being said, when the new arc starts, there will be a post starting the arc and stating what the current story is/follows, and subsequent posts from there updating any lore changes and the likes to keep us updated. You came at a good time. The NW is getting some updates. Mostly when it comes to easier rifts (dungeons) being added for low-level/solo players, easier NPCs to interact with and battle, etc. But yeah. The NW is just open play at the moment so you're free to do whatever without following or adhering to any lore. Heck, you can do that even when the arc starts. You don't have to participate in anything if you don't want to. Totally up to you. But yeah.

Yep! You can do only story if you want, tbh. You don't have to fight or only fight NPCs, etc. Most people in the RP won't go out looking for fights with you because usually that comes with some sort of consequences. Whether that be a bounty on their head or someone knowing you are new and not liking the fact that someone attacked you while you are trying to learn and enjoy yourself. Me, for example. I am the type to attack you for no reason because I am an asshole. But most players here aren't like that I reckon. Usually if you stay far enough away from events people won't go out of their way to bother you anyway because its either pick on a new player to no reward or go complete event-oriented missions, PVP or PVE where the rewards are very, very fruitful. So yeah. Go out there and do what you want. Just watch any negative actions. A lot of people hold certain landmarks near and dear. So if you go blowing stuff up in them, expect them to come blow you up themselves. But hey... That's part of the fun. For me, at least. And Skorm. Skorm likes doing that.
