Things change with time.

There was a time when buffs were allowed and people had +25 or +30 and other states. Then as the rules changed these things became disallowed, eventually turning into +20 max standard boosts..

The point is, standards don't stay the same, balance changes were implemented and guidelines were given to us to follow, even when updating the updates need to adhere to the new standards.

There have also been several things that were allowed years ago that wouldn't hold up in todays standards so just because something was allowed back then isn't really a good argument.

I did three tests for my sage missions in 2015 to attain the title before purchasing them was a thing. This was before sage weapons were a thing too.

Times have changed and now it can be purchased and you can do a mission for a sage weapon.

Should I now gain a sage weapon because I did a mission in the past? No.

The game and systems have evolved. Unfortunately with these changes, stuff falls through the cracks for fairness and balance. I could more recently complain about my sand release no longer being neutral. Or prizes won from events being taken after couple of years. Or losing 10 custom snt and an entire cfs based on tech.

The reason I’m not complaining is because things have changed for the benefit and health of the game. It’s not always ideal but it is fair to be consistency.

Another side of it is vayne with all his customs left for a mod based on previous standards, not checked in 2 years and now never will be. Now he has to resubmit them with the new standards, when he did nothing wrong.

He’s a filthy Nara but things are always changing, it isn’t ideal but it’s fair as the same stuff applies to all. And shall going forwards.
