If we have no vid claim killing her then the most logical conclusion is that Soul did seeing as he had a kill available to him and openly suspected Poison.

And yeah Poison was fairly scummy D1 if you payed any attention to them.

As for write up manipulation, introducing that into play kind of puts everything into doubt so let's not even consider it.
