I tend to keep themes quite vague to leave options open to all....

I like to see how people take the theme and make it their own. I did a zombie apocalypse theme a while ago, and i ran with a comedy style and won.... others took it quite serious though... each to their own

Does the submissions need to fill a certain theme or can they be whatever you want them to be? I'm not gonna say what I would like to write about, but like if the theme is comedy then I'm not submitting anything for example.
But like, does it need to be for example scy fy/thriller/drama etc?

Yes a theme is given every month, but a theme is just a theme, you can put whatever spin you want on it whether it will be dead serious or a comedy, but it has to follow the story premise. You can't really pre-write something for it, if that's what you're asking. That was the old days' format. The contest was already done anyway, no one know what the next one will be or if there'll be one at all, except for Dan xP Though, I doubt it. Not enough... Contestants and voters these days, or rather, not enough members, but you'll never know if the demand picks up again

It was already dieing in 2015, 2016 was the last "real" year. Been some reboot efforts a few times down the line over the years but nothing like it used to.
