The Spider took a moment to ponder his request, sitting back in his throne and pausing a moment while he scratched the bottom of his chin. "The undead scourge that occupied Tobusekai was commanded by the Voidlord Phetra. Someone far beyond your own capabilities." He laughed slightly before leaning forward in his throne again, looking down on Alucard. "At best you could find the entrance to the Underworld and bring her out to face her. But she is far beyond any human's capabilities. Only a group could take her down in unison."
...Phetra? Voidlord?

Must've been
her admirals that he had slain in the black forests surrounding Veskal's Exchange. They were very powerful and for The Spider to call out for not going in to face her alone spoke volumes of her might. He probably knew Alucard's powers even more than Alucard himself. Was Spider mocking him or was he speaking the truth. Why would he lie though, spilling the beans of Phetra meant he was her enemy as well.. Alucard looked around the room and sighed. He wanted answers to his second question as well and would dare to repeat it.

You've given me the name of the enemy and also stated i cannot combat the threat alone - yet you did not answer my follow-up question. Is there any information you may give me on whereabouts of any artifacts or weapons/tools that may aid The Hellsing Organisation in these trials?

Alucard then thought about The Spiders previous response as well. He wanted to know this too.

..What are the voidlord?

This post marks the beginning of my mission with the following storyboard element(s):

Explore a landmark (3)*

Summary: Having reached Veskal's Exchange, based on talks overheard between Solomon and Emiya, Merlin decides to explore the shady markets.

While Merlin had no real expectation of what Veskal's Exchange would be like, he still felt some level of surprise. Not on a personal level, but rather, that this was a place that Solomon knew of, and seemed to have a deal of knowledge around. He didn't think the King of Magic the type of person to hang around these parts. Countless stalls and their shopkeepers shrouded in darkness, with cloaks concealing their faces. Those who did not were varied in appearance, ranging from those more human-looking, carrying only scars and tattoos, to those who had modified their body's foundations, becoming more machine than human. If Merlin didn't know Emiya Shirou any better, and was aware of this place, it would have been reasonable to advise the young magus not to come here. These streets, the vendors that lined their dark corners, were the quintessential image of cutthroat. Merlin, hooded in his regal garments, woven with Camelot's finest cloths centuries ago, that did not carry a single stain, depicted anything but that as he walked through the market, his presence capturing the eyes of storekeepers and customers alike.

Rats scurried around the cobblestone pavement, some leaving tiny red footprints behind. One would only be able to tell such a thing in the few places where glaring studio lights tore through the natural darkness created by the claustrophobic alleyways. The only audible sounds were the murmurs and hushed conversations between buyers and sellers, and the sound of Merlin's boots stepping through the treacherous alleyways. At one point, he suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder, its grip gentle but enough to cause him to halt in his tracks. Merlin turned his head slightly, to let the stranger know he had his attention.

"You look like you're in search of something, sir. I'm sure my wares will be of interest to you."

"Ah... well, you see, I'm just browsing. But thank you."

The shopkeeper did not loosen his grip on Merlin's shoulder, opting instead to come closer to Merlin, his putrid breath now reaching his nostrils.

"Why, don't be like that. Come, let me show you what I have."

While Merlin was an easygoing guy, this situation was one where he couldn't let himself be distracted. Channeling chakra to his hand, and with a flick of his wrist, Merlin produced a flower. Holding it up to his shoulder, where the man was holding him, it would appear totally harmless.

"Sorry, but I'm really not interested. Have this, as recompense."

The man tilted his head slightly, confused at the incubus' gesture. But within the next few moments, he would no longer be conscious at all. The flower produced a unique pollen that, upon inhalation, would put the shopkeeper to sleep. His hand unfastened on Merlin's shoulder, and his legs began to wobble as he succumbed to Merlin's technique. He slumped to the floor where he stood, which for a moment, caught the attention of the nearby vendors and customers, who then went back to their business. This was a cutthroat place after all. People died in these streets all the time, whether in plain sight or hidden in the darkest corners. With the stranger dealt with, Merlin would continue walking through the markets.

Type: Offensive

Description: Gift of the Faeries is an offspring technique of Advent of a World of Flowering Trees, allowing the user to produce flowers from their body. By default, these flowers, like those in Advent, are able to release pollen which can render a target(s) unconscious within a turn when inhaled, appearing as a violet mist. The spread of the pollen can be controlled by the user, so as not to affect their allies, themself being immune to its effects. However, the pollen is only released with the user's mental command, and when released can only fill the field up to a short-range radius around the flower producing it. These flowers can also be removed from the user's body and given to or placed on others or the field, allowing for territorial control. The flowers and their pollen can be produced incredibly quickly, only taking a moment to occur, not costing a move slot but taking a place in the timeframe. Gift of the Faeries can be used once every two turns, and whilst there is a flower on their body that is actively releasing pollen, the user cannot create another flower.

The markets seemed to stretch on for some great distance, for not once had Merlin reached a point where they seemed to end. The alleyways were, quite literally packed to the brim with stalls, and none of them were the ones he had already come across. Similar wares, sure, but all run by different people. A great place for business, he supposed. But he was no closer to getting a bead on the one known as the Spider. His time was limited, so he was not hopeful for a meeting. Only some information. Perhaps it was time to get hands on, ask around. There was one place he came across, one which seemed different from the others. It was a store within a building, as opposed to the market stalls that littered the streets of Veskal. Entering, he went straight to the counter, intending to ask the storekeeper about the Spider.

"Excuse me. I'm a stranger to these parts, so I was wondering... could you tell me anything about a Spider? I was sent here to speak with him, but I've got no idea where to find him."

The shopkeeper said nothing at first, only scoffing at Merlin's question. Getting up from his seat, he took a step to the counter, revealing a face which was naught but machinery and metal.

"Afraid not. But I can tell, by you asking that question, that you'll be needing what I've got."

A bold presumption by the shopkeeper. But given his words, Merlin was less dubious about this man's offer to examine his goods than the other one from earlier.

"Well, show me then."

The metallic plates and gears comprising the man's face shifted to form some approximation of a smile. Drawing a scroll from behind the counter, he unrolled it in front of Merlin, showing him a list of unique enhancements he could choose to buy. Merlin, having only 2000 ryo, could only afford the basic Night Vision enhancement. It would be useful to have, nevertheless. Reaching into a pocket in his robe, he would draw out the required amount of ryo and place it on the counter.

"Wonderful. Come with me then. This won't take long."

With that, Merlin and the shopkeeper entered the backroom of the store.

Mission complete, and purchasing the basic Night Vision enhancement for 2000 Ryo.

Purchase Approved

Merlin emerged from the back room of the store rubbing his eyes, in some sort of distress, amusing the shopkeeper. Though he was promised a useful 'enhancement', the operation itself left his eyes sensitive, which was to be expected by anyone who received such procedures. But Merlin was not familiar with the modern era, which left him susceptible to upset in the most bizarre of ways to onlookers. The shopkeeper patted him on the shoulder, reassuring him that the discomfort would subside soon. The incubus only responded with a grumble, stumbling out of the shop and heading back to Theodoro.

Having travelled far to reach his destination, Talbot surveyed the surrounding area. His old eyes spotting the man he met years prior. We walked over to stand beside him.

"Ahh, greetings Hei. It has been far too long old friend, how are you this day and age?" Placing both his hands in front of him on the head of his cane, he looked up in reflection as he continued to speak. "I was slightly shocked to have seen a notice that the Rising Cloud had been merged with another party. Ah well. Change is a constant flux of nature and chaos, and we get to tag along on the ride."

He waited to hear the response from his old friend, after all he had not forewarned Hei of his journey to meet him.

The answer was simple, but so complex at the same time. "Weapons, tools, or artifacts? No. I know nothing of the sorts." Was it a lie? Yes. But it was not information that Alucard was entitled to, even in a meeting with the Spider. It was another's task to find these weapons, and one that only Solomon knew the exact truth behind. "But what I can tell you of are the Voidlords - they are an infamous group of four ancient paragons under their leader, the one who calls himself the Voice. Though each is shrouded in mystery, it is Phetra who has marched forth to upend Tobusekai. And it was Demetrias that nearly kidnapped the Divine Child Enkidu. Now if that would be all, there are others I must attend to."

Alucard looked Spider in the eyes as he replied to his questions. With a straight "no" to his first one, it would feel like he was not completely honest, but what did he know. In the end it didn't change the outcome that Alucard had waltzed in there and learned something atleast. Was it worth his Ryo? Time would only tell, though in hindsight it clearly wasn't.

That'll be all.

With a solemn tone, Alucard left the lair and went out into the fresh air. Clearly disappointed. Outside of the lair, there was a gathering of other ninjas waiting in line to see the Spider. He scoffed at their patience and would leave the landmark in haste, he had wasted too much time with this encounter already and his new alliance needed him now.

Coming from Mount Katsuryoku

Faye finally arrived and she already hated this area. "Too many sketchy people but I suppose if there's a place where I would be able to find my new peers, it would be here." She thought to herself. She would explore the area a while longer asking around about The Hellsing Organization in hopes to find another member.

Not long after she would notice a black haired fellow with blue eyes following another man.

"Interesting, maybe they would know." She thought as she began to tail the man.

Hei awakes from a short nap, judging from time of day it had been a few hours since he's nodded off. Standing from the chair in which he rested Hei stretches' his arms out as he rises them to the sky. His muscles tensing as the blood flow constricts and then relaxes as his body posture returns to normal. It was a rest well needed. Looking around to gather himself he walks back over to the counter to see if anyone has returned.

"You are to come next." The voice was silent, coming from a small head peeking out from behind a door where many others had disappeared down. It was Hei's turn to visit the infamous black market mastermind, the Spider. "Be respectful, but the Spider has been anticipating your arrival. He has a task for someone such as yourself..." The steward motioned Hei toward the door before disappearing behind it.

Alucard waltzed back into Veskal's exchange after having stomped out the riot in Lost Shores. There he would meet a new ninja whom had been in the Rising Cloud in which Alucard now was the patronarch of due to their clans being fused together. His figure was quite mysterious, Alucard liked it. He approached the man and started a conversation.

Hello there, who just might you be? I've not heard much about you. Wanna grab a drink?

Talbot, who had at this point been off to the side speaking with some of his insect friends, looked up as someone addressed him. Before him stood a rather tall fellow, dressed in a gothic combination of red and black, a key descriptor to someone he had planned to meet.

"Hello there, you must be the one and only Alucard. I am known as Talbot, of the Aburame clan, though I don't like to identify myself as such often. Most people I come across find my clan to be rather..." He paused as he tried to find the right word "eccentric or creepy as they might call it."

He would get up from his leaning position to respond further. "I cannot say no to the offer of a drink, I happen to have some delicious Honey Mead on my person that is rather delicious if I might say. If that pleases your pallet that is."

Talbot introduced himself to Alucard. He was from the Aburame clan, a clan that Alucard had once faced before on the brink of death, which to him was inspiring as he knew their powers were strong indeed and had alot of potential. It would also be a benefitial diversity of power considering the fact that Alucard only knew one other clan members powers, Hei, which were similar to his own. The way he described the eccentricy and creepiness of his clan made Alucard raise his eyebrows ever so slightly, but he would respect this ones request of not being associated with the name Aburame.

I'll shall only name you Talbot in that case. Yes, my name is Alucard and i also go by some nicknames - usually ones i don't come up with. Atleast not the catchy ones..

Talbot offered Honey Mead as a drink, something Alucard was not familliar with. He had once heard of it but he had never tried it. Before they got into drinking it, Alucard would use his chakra to create a table out of earth and two chairs out of his white sand - polystyrene for comfort. They would be discussing for a while afterall.

(Doton no Jutsu) - Earth Release Technique
Type: Supplementary/Offensive/Defensive
Rank: D
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra: 10
Damage: 20
Descripton: Creates small pillars of earth, small tools, and small shields of earth

(Porisuchiton: Shiroi Sabaku | Polystyrene Release: White Desert)
Type: Offensive/Defensive/Supplementary
Rank: D-S(D)
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: 10-40(-10 per turn)
Damage: 20-80
Description: The jack of all trades release for the porisuchiton release. The user can form any structures from the polystyrene pellets they want. The user can create weapons, armour and well anything that they need. D and C ranked usage requires no handseals, B rank requires one, A rank requires two and S rank requires three handseals. D, C and B rank may be used indefinitely as long as the user has a chakra pool, A ranks can be used 5 times per battle and S rank can be used 4 times per battle. A rank variation has a cooldown of one turn per use, S rank has a cooldown of two turns after use. This lets the user channel porisuchiton chakra through the earths crust and create miniature sinkholes or other structures. The user can also form polystyrene directly from their body. Unless the user fuels chakra into the polystyrene, it will fall flat on the earths surface as it is too light to sustain any forms by itself unlike other solid materials.

Note: B-ranks require a single handseal, A ranks two handseals and S rank three handseals.
Note: A rank version can be used 5 times per battle, with a cooldown of one turn, S rank 4 with a cooldown of two turns.
Note: No other Polystyrene techniques in the same turn S-rank version is used

He would have a sip of the Mead. It was extremely sweet with alot of honey flavor in it.

Quite zesty? Cheers!

Alucard took a few more sips and would get on with their meeting. He would remove his yellow-tinted glasses, revealing his Dojutsu, the Tenseigan. His elbows would meet the table and his hands would come together as he rested his chin upon them.

So. As you know by now, i am the leader and founder of the Hellsing Organisation. We have been a close ally to yours truly, Hei for a long time now and due to recent events we merged. Our goals have been the same from the start - save the world from self-proclaimed monsters and gods. However, our ideals on how to carry this out might've differed. I don't care what tools you use, what means you use to save humanity and the rest of the world. If needed being, sacrifice is something that i encourage if there is no other way. I don't care what sort of chakra or means of using it - you do you to get the job done. There are no restrictions on Kinjutsu or Jujutsu in my book. If you desire power to get yours and our goals done, by all means seek it. No matter how dark or unorthodox it gets. The history of Hellsing originated in my ideals for assassination of the enemy. I was alone in my upbringing and brought into this world by a family of assassins that hunted everything and everyone as long as they got paid. During my years as a loner, i kept restraining myself from using all the tools i had. This did nothing but cost me in the end. I learned from it, that if your goal is true - your weapons will be as well. No matter what it is. My actions have spoken of this of late. I am not afraid to hide my powers, you should not be either. If anything comes in our way, destroy it. Even if it's me.

Alucard then paused and raised his hands from the table, signaling to Talbot to raise any questions about the clan.

Alucard then paused and raised his hands from the table, signaling to Talbot to raise any questions about the clan.
Talbot watched in quiet curiosity as Alucard proceeded to create his own little table and set of chairs for them, sip at the honey mead, reveal a very interesting set of eyes — of which Talbot had seen once before from Hei — and proceed into a monologue about the clan and its purpose, with a tiny bit of backstory thrown in. It was a lot of information that he had to take in, and he took his time to process it all in his mind whilst sipping on his own beverage.

Bringing his glass down gently to the make-shift table, Talbot pondered to himself for possible questions that he may wish to ask. Everything was pretty straight forward. Nothing really changed for him or his methods of completing tasks.

"Well, Alucard. There isn't really much I can think of to ask you in regards to the merger of our respective groups. Bahaha!" He laughed as he spoke his response. "If anything I would probably want to know if you had a more specific end goal in mind besides something as vague and as futile as to 'save humanity'." Pausing briefly to think of his next sentence "I should probably also mention something that could be relevant, if we are to continue working alongside each other as comrades. I have a fascination with chaos. I believe it to be a key part of nature's cycle and such there are times — and have been a few times — that I have intentionally sat back to observe the course of chaos. Though, it has not been for anything world ending I might add, just a thing that has the potential of happening. A forewarning if you will, nothing malicious, I assure you."

Taking a pause again to sip more of his drink before continuing. "As far as hiding my abilities away, I can assure you that I am not ashamed or fearful of my abilities." As he speaks, he mentally commands a representative from each of the three species of insect that resided in his body to come forth and arrange them selves before him. "I love my insects and the symbiotic relationship that we have, I treasure it in fact. I am actually in the process of working on my own special breed, which I feel close to completing though I know for a fact that I am missing something important to my formula."

Calling the insects back into his body, visually showing Alucard the way they crawl under his skin he concluded, sitting back to hear the response of his new comrade. "What else did you want to discuss?"

Alucard listened to Talbots response. He was asking about specific clan goals, which Alucard was going to come at later anyway even if not asked about it. He would smile at the remarks about chaos, a volatile personality it would seem. He was eager to see it first handed. He wasn't afraid of his powers or using them either it would seem, good, a true and genuine comrade that Alucard could feel safe to trust when it would come to the harshest moments of life - Death. He looked at the bugs that then gathered, filled with chakra. They differed from eachother, which they would, as Talbot would tell they were from different species and the fact that he was on the process of making a special breed of chakra bugs sounded quite interesting. He was curious about it, and frankly having spoken too much about himself and his clan it would only break the ice a little further if he asked about it. After answering the questions of course.

Right now there's a disturbance in Tobusekai. I'm sure you've seen it - dark forces have gathered on a single purpose which seems to be to wipe out humanity from this continent. If i know dark powers, they won't stop here either even if they succeed. No, they will spread. Right now i am able to give you three directions you can take. I don't mind whichever it is as i see all three equally important. The first one would be to stay here in Tobusekai and follow the events that are happening here. The undead are still on the march even after large efforts of slowing them down. I just left a meeting with a know-it-all and was informed that there are individuals here that calls themselves Voidlords. Apparently the dead walking is the work of one of those named Phetra. The other option for you is to go to our lands in the Ligthtning mountains and check on our people and make sure they are okey - fortify our fortresses, develop your research etc. The third option would be our conquest of expansion. Currently we have lands only there, in the Lands of lightning. You're free to gather resources and claim landmarks surrounding our own. Be careful that you do not claim landmarks belong to other clans though, currently i don't want a war.

He then paused for a second before continuing on with his questions about Talbot.

Chaos is a catalyst that i find, exquisite. I've been in it's grasp for some time, the unpredictableness of it makes you appreciate your life more than ever. It's not sustainable for a long time though, but is an excellent training ground mentality. Chaos can, indeed, occur at any time. Dealing with the unpredictable is key to sustain your life. Now, tell me a bit about this breeding of bugs. Is it a complicated development? What goes into it, are the bugs sentient or do you control them with your chakra? I'm curious.

Hei follows the voice, entering though the door like others before him. The anticipation on meeting the spider was beginning to grow within him. Hei had heard recent stories about the Spider, hearing he is rather generous when it comes to gifts and payments. To receive a personal invitation from someone so mysterious will surly be worth while.

Coming from #235, Ruined Temple.

As the door shut behind Hei, a flash of blue signaled Emiya's return to Veskals, tragically arriving moments too late for his arrival to be noted by the associate of the black market arachnid. With a weary sigh from his Spider-borne endeavors, Emiya assumed the same position he'd taken when he was last outside the Spider's domain, sat across the street, though infinitely more disheveled than his previous visit. He stared down the numerous doors that could facilitate his next trip to the Spider, all while ruminating on his discovery at the Ruined Temple, and what it meant for the acquaintance of Merlin's.

"I'm glad you decided to take my invitation." The words came from deeper in the chamber as Hei made his way through the teleporter. "I've always wanted my own champion. So useful." He snorted and laughed, leaning back in his chair as the Spider crossed his arms. "My resources are stretched thin. That pesky Voidlord sure knew how to disrupt an entire continent. But most importantly: do you want to do the same to her?"

Hei wasn't sure how he felt being claimed as someone else's champion. It was a notion as if they had owned him. Nevertheless Hei was not one to create conflict were there was none. The spider sat in his chair, his arms crossed as if to assert confidence yet their was more to his posture. Something Hei couldn't quite get a read on. It was almost unsettling. As he continued to speak Hei listened but wasn't fully aware of what he was speaking of. It appeared as though a single individual was the route cause of the events transpiring in Tobusekai. It was clear the spider with his vast network had more information from the shadows. Hei had only gathered fragments to the puzzle that do not create a complete picture yet.

"Do the same to her? Perhaps... You say this Voidlord is responsible for the rise of the undead? Is there any relation to the Child that was born, the one who cured the land of red fever? Or the sea-creatures that called themselves Sentinels that scavenged the ruins? And if they are connected, Is Tiamat somehow at the center of it?"

Hei laid out all his fragments of knowledge he had gathered, hoping the Spider could complete the picture.

The Spider blinked twice, puzzled by the series of questions. "Well...yes. That's what it means when she disrupted the entire continent." It felt weird to have to state the obvious. But the other questions were even more bizarre. Other events seemingly unconnected that, even if they were related, as far as Hei could tell would have nothing to do with each other. "Many questions, but fewer answers to be given. It is rude to answer your host's question with another question, champion." The Spider wasn't annoyed, simply confused at Hei's behavior. "There are ways to loosen the Queen of the Dead's rule over her domain."

"My apologies Spider, I can't help but feel as though the events as of late are connected in some way. I feel as though I only have pieces to an incomplete puzzle. I was hoping for more insight and thought it best to layout the pieces I've gathered before you. I was hopeful that someone of your caliber could make since of them. Perhaps they are unrelated after all."

Hei couldn't help but feel suspicious of the Spider, it was almost as if he wasn't willing to share information even if he had it. His goal was clearly to focus on this Voidlord. Nothing wrong with that, if she was the one behind the undead uprising then she anything that can be done to disrupt her will be best for the immediate future.

"I'm willing to help loosen the grip of this "Queen of the Dead" over her domain. What's the plan?"
