Is freedom of "thought" a real thing?

Like for example, if I meet someone that I don't like, am I allowed to "think" he is a terrible person???


Cus if I say he is trash, maybe he will argue with me that no I'm not trash you are just dumb. Or something?

Dude this is important, what if someone argued with you about what is real and true and then you don't know what is what cus the moment you express the "wrong" opinion that person starts to argue again?

Freedom of thought is a real thing, you can think whatever you want. Freedom of saying, not so much. Imagine somebody behaving badly, you can think he/she is a worthless piece of trash, but you wouldn't call them that. It could lead to conflict or worse.
