I don't recall Hiruzen making those orders, I remember Danzo going behind Hiruzen so he doesn't know. Hiruzen didn't threaten to close down a orphange, that was all Danzo.

Hiruzen wanted to negotiate with the Uchiha, but Danzo was the one who wanted to eliminate them.
Not true, Hiruzen gained ignorance when it was too late he said let's negotiate. However, he knew it was too late and then he asked Itachi to buy them time (so they can plan an attack). And Hiruzen ordered it, not Danzo. That was a lie by Itachi trying to manipulate Sasuke.

I ised to think it was Danzo as well, then re-read the scenario for a debate a few years back. Old man Hiruzen was crocked, which is why Sasuke should've wiped out the Sarutobi as well, in a full blown fire on fire battle.

The shinobi world was in a cycle of hatred and revenge. Theres the warring states era, 4 world wars even after the formation of the villages. And smaller incidents like the Sand and Sound's invasion of Konoha. Uchiha just stood out because they possess the greatest power. Because of this power they were unjustly persecuted by your boy Danzo. For a crime they as a clan didn't commit. Leading to Itachi and Sasuke going down a dark path.

Itachi did the world a favor by ridding it of a clan of deranged psychopaths.
Itachi, Shisui, Itachi's girlfriend were the characters that we knew of that were good people. There must have been many more.

Itachi was simply too wise and strong to be affected by the curse of hatred, same cant be said for the rest of these retards.
...Shisui, who fucking killed himself just to avoid the possibility of war after the Shadow Hokage (Danze) fucking ripped his eye out.

Like, literally the entire conflict happened because of Danzo's stupid, perverted mind.

All heil Itachi Uchiha :itachi2:
Itachi's fundamental flaw is his utilitarian philosophy.

This is also the reason that he's not the main antagonist of the story like Naruto.

He's actually comparable to Danzo, Madara, Pain, etc.

These dudes are all utilitarian who believed that they were doing good when the ultimate calculations were to be done.

The number of innocent lives lost because of their actions was small in the grand scheme of the shinobi world, and were necessary exchanges to avoid more innocent lives lost.

What makes Itachi better than Madara and Danzo is that he wasn't a delusional narcissist/egomaniac behind those calculations.

He was willing to make himself a sacrifice for greater good which is something that Madara and Danzo truly weren't about (only in their heads).

However he was still wrong.

Utilitarianism is wrong because in the real world, we don't know how things actually turn out.

In his calculations, Itachi massacred his clan to avoid a greater number of deaths from civil war but it's not guaranteed that things would have turned out that way.

What if the war would have somehow resulted in less deaths than the massacre (say that the leaders of either side were killed)?

What if a good shinobi, maybe 3rd Hokage himself, used talk no jutsu to convince Itachi's father to change course?

Any multitude of things could have happened and Itachi's actions might have actually resulted in greater tragedies.

Danzo became stronger (both in battle and in politics) because of the massacre.

Danzo contributed to Pain becoming what he became by giving intel and advice to the kage of hidden rain village to attack Akutsuki.

We all know that Naruto wouldn't have done what Itachi did.

He would have tried to do the impossible by keeping both the innocent members of the Uchiha safe and the village safe.

Maybe that would have resulted in more deaths, maybe less,- but ultimately faith, hope, and categorical principles drive Naruto.

Choosing your village over your clan is kinda cucked ngl

I don't blame Itachi though, the problem is with Kishi not putting Itachi in a convincing enough bind.
Not really. It's just two different approaches and pretty subjective. First choice is actually narrow. Civil war and terrorism to achive political power are not such a great idea that rejecting it would make Itachi bad. People who see their own clan members planning bad things that are likely to kill people anyway and yet support in name of clan are not morally high.

I mean, I don't think it's morally high exactly either but coming to the conclusion that you must slaughter every single member as a result is not really morally high either. If we're talking about morals, I don't think the answer was to attack the clan or attack the village which is why I think Kishi dropped the ball. He didn't really convince me that those were Itachi's only options.

But when I said it was cucked to choose your village over clan, that was more of a personal thing for me, I realize most may not agree and like you said it's subjective.
