Medical Ninjutsu purchased as of 6/6/2020 and in my inventory. Thank you for agreeing to help out @Never

After the spread of the virus throughout the known world and her own personal encounters with it, Chise had long since felt a certain grinding sensation that dwelled in the

back of her mind. Ever since she had visited the Tsumigakure Hospital and witnessed the suffering and powerlessness so many people faced, including the staff that were overwhelmed and unable to help everyone, Chise had made it a point that when the time came where she'd have the capacity to do so, she'd seek out the knowledge it would take to give her the means to offer relief to those that she'd meet in the future.

After having returned from her journey to the East, Chise sought out a Shinobi she had heard of a Shinobi that was qualified in Medical Ninjutsu and its many intricacies. Approaching them, she had bowed her head low to them, all but begging that they take her under their wing to guide her through the study of the subject to the best of their experienced abilities. Agreeing to do so, Chise left to prepare, then made her way to the designated location where her training would begin, anxious in both her own sense of insecurities and whether she will be successful in her training, and also eager to take on this challenge to the best of her abilities.

It had been a couple days since that girl wanted to be trained in the art of medical ninjutsu had come up to Lena. She hadn't really been asked to teach the medical arts before, though mostly because of how intimidating she looked and that her body was... not a normal one. Lena had given the girl a map and instructions on where to meet her, a cottage or more accurately an abandoned shack in the middle of a swampy forest. Lena stood outside on the raised wooden platform that kept the shack from being swallowed by the water giving Chise a hand up from the path to the raised platform.

"You're here. Sorry about the location."

Lena sat down on a chair on the porch of the shack looking out to the swamp and gestured for her new student to as well. Between them as a wooden stool with Green Tea freshly poured for them both.

"Take a seat and tell me what you know of the Field you're desperate to learn."

"Take a seat and tell me what you know of the Field you're desperate to learn."
Upon arrival, Chise had turned her attention up from the map she had been given just in time to eye the platform that was situated nearly center of the watery pool that accommodated the swamp life that grew there. She blinked at the hand offered to her in only a brief hesitation before tucking the map she had into her coat and taking hold, allowing the provided assistance to lift herself up onto the deck in a smooth transition. She carefully planted both feet upon the wooden floorboards, eyeing the bottoms of her boots that were caked in mud and loose leaves. She turned a gaze up toward the woman, offering a faint, somewhat shaky smile as she lifted a hand to rub gingerly at the side of her head in something of an awkward manner. "Ah, it's no trouble at all. I'm actually somewhat familiar with these sorts of places. Though, I'm sorry about the mess.. I should have worn more appropriate shoes.."

With that, she noted the two seats that were arranged side by side to that of a singular stool that was arranged between, eyeing the gesture made for her to take her seat as the other did herself. Slowly she moved to settle in, tucking her forest-green skirt along the backsides of her thighs before settling into the chair, arranged somewhat forward of it's seat to keep her back straight, arms resting along her lap. Though Lena's features were somewhat.. off, from that of really any other individual, Chise seemed less than particularly focused on it, as if they weren't all that odd to her. Instead, her attention was hinged on the scenery surrounding them, passing a glance in a slow eyeful scan across the terrain they seemed centered to. "It's very pretty out here.. I'm somewhat jealous." She hummed in a soft breath, eventually her gaze shifting back to Lena with a faint smile as she recalled the original purpose of why she had been invited in the first place.

"
Oh, right. Well, I'm honestly pretty new to the official study of Medical Ninjutsu. If I'm being truthful, I hadn't really had an interest in it much before the virus struck. What I do know is that it's a form that practices and specializes in utilizing chakra in a precise, treatment-oriented manner to heal and mend the wounds of others. If I recall, the primary technique used is the 'Mystical Palm'? I recall reading about it in a few of the opening texts that I had started to read; it's primary purpose is in surgical incisions and wound healing through the careful and steady flow of chakra that is used to help accelerate the body's natural healing principles." Chise seemed to stir along her thoughts as she brought a hand up to pinch lightly at her chin in a thoughtful manner, stirring through the clearly recent, fresh knowledge she had been trying to pour over before her official decision to pursue the subject like she is now. "I know that the use of chakra in that way is very precise and delicate in itself; every wound and procedure requiring a specific amount of chakra to mend, otherwise it could overwhelm the patient's body in very negative ways. But, that's about all I know at this point.."

Lena listens to her student go on for a while, though she was looking out to the swampy terrain that surrounded this shack. With her right hand she picks up her cup and brings it to her lips. The steam sifting between her lips for a moment before she tilts the cup backwards and drinks the tea from it, a small smirk manages on her features.

"Well, not many people appreciate a swamp..." Lena places her cup back onto the wooden stool, her gaze moving to look at Chise, "You have at least attempted to gather information in the field you wish to learn, which is good. Yes medical ninjutsu is a powerful way to help people, but with all power comes danger as well. A lot of harm can come from medicine, there is a balance as you've mentioned that if tipped either way can be extremely negative for the wrong and or right reasons."

The Stitched Woman takes a moment to think on her next words before speaking straight away, appreciating her student's demeanour and knowledge. "A Medical ninja is someone who has learned to make use of ninjutsu to provide medical treatment to others yes, but also using that knowledge have used it to enhance their own combat abilities. We'll learn a lot of new jutsu over the next few days, but if you want to fully broaden your Medical Ninjutsu and improve it's usage, experiment lets say; fields like Kinjutsu, Fuuinjutsu and Poison Techniques are deeply rooted into medical knowledge. Having this knowledge can unlock new potential and achieve great power. My Body is a prime example, though I won't scare you with a demonstration."

"You'll learn to heal others and yourself, cure poisons, develop your regenerative abilities and learn about the different pills and medicines you can take and their limitations. However, basics. Think before you answer, what does a good medical ninja - nay, doctor need to do before he treats a patient?"

Chise's gaze shifted toward the woman after she began to pour over her drink and addressed her comment regarding the swamp. With a soft smile, Chise slowly shifted her gaze back outward, taking in the zipping movements of many different insects, the soft, low rumble of nature's various sounds; the winds brushing the branches of bush and tree alike, the croaks of the frogs, among a few namely things. "I suppose not. But it's quiet.. and very serene, in it's own way. Almost meditative. I feel like nothing could find me out here if I stayed long enough and could feel a sense of calm and safety that is normally very evasive anywhere else.."

Carefully Chise turned her gaze back to her newfound Mentor, resting her emerald irises upon her as she listened carefully to their explanation. Her gaze softened a moment as she heard the reality being spoken to her, of how the use of something that was meant to heal and protect life was potentially used to harm and take life away, possibly even more effectively. It wasn't as though she hadn't considered this, of course. Somehow she knew that before really having it take clear shape in her thoughts, but it didn't exactly stir any reassurances to be somewhat familiar with the suggestion, not even a little..

Her focus rekindled as she was posed a question now. With a blink, she slowly turned her attention outward once again, then down toward her lap, where her hands rested idly. What was the right answer..? Somehow she felt there could be more than one, but that of course meant the opposite was true as well. There was a great many things that went into what made someone a doctor; dependent on both technical and morality based variables. A breath seemed to catch in her throat before her lips parted a moment later. "..
Well, firstly I suppose that would depend on the patient; relative to if they're conscious or not. Assuming they are, I would say it's most important for the doctor to know their patient? To encourage a sense of safety and confidence in their skills as a physician. Even if they are unconscious or unresponsive, I'd think to check any information there might be on them. Though I suppose there won't always be 'charts' to look at in every case.." Her thought process slowly lulled to a soft cutoff as she began to realize the holes in her answer. After another moment of silent thought, she lifted her gaze back toward her mentor, Lena. "I suppose if you cannot know your patient, then assessing what the issue is would be the next in the line of importance, I'd think. If you try to treat a patient without knowing what you're treating them for, then you can do infinitely more harm than good. I think being informed is one of the precious thin lines between a physician and a killer.. among other things, but I think it matters more than some might think."

Lena listened to the answer, it was a good one and was on the right track. The second part especially. She leaned forward in her seat, elbows rested on her thighs, hands delicately propping up her head.

"Good answer. Knowing your patient is good and all, but one could argue a good doctor should not need to know a person at all the be able to treat them. However, the second part of your answer sort of covers it. The word you're looking for is; Diagnosis. Your must make your Diagnosis, this will allow a good medical ninja to know exactly what they need to treat a patient and also get to know them as well. Follow me."

Lena stands up from her seat quite abruptly and moves towards the door of the shack, she puts her hand on the doorknob and pulls it, though it doesn't budge at first. She pulls it harder and it snaps open, the wood making a cracking sound as the hinges strain. She goes inside and in the main living room the first thing that would stand out would be the stench, then the table in the middle with a dead old man lying on it, flies zipping around the corpse. Otherwise it looked like an ordinary front room, old cabinets with dirty mirrors and lit fireplace, though the carpet was covered in dirt and specks of blood.

"Here. A Patient you can work on... well sort of. You can at least learn to diagnose it, other than the fact in determining this man is obviously dead you should be able to find out what killed him. The idea is that you run your hand along the patient, chakra imbued into your hands - concentrate on what the chakra is sensing and you should determine the wounds. If you have any other kind of sensory abilities, using them can greatly enhance the diagnosis of a patient. Like an Uchiha's Sharingan or a Hyuga's Byakugan."

Lena stood on the opposite side of the table, arms crossed under her chest.
-Multiple small hole piercings over his torso and back, where thread like weapons have pierced the man's body
-Been dead for about 5 days.
-Incapable of Ninjutsu
-Heart Removed from hole in the back caused by multiple of the thread like weapons in one location
-missing segments of his spine
-Broken ribs
-Diabetic

Chise's eyes followed the woman as she stood and made her way into the cabin, standing casually to following behind her. Almost as soon as the door broke it's rusted over seals and hinges to give way to Lena opening it, Chise's brows knitted together instantly as a sleeve rose to pass over her nose and mouth. Something foul radiated it's stench from inside, of which she was not at all prepared for, yet somehow it smelled.. familiar? Stepping inside, she eyed the body that laid atop a table in the center of the room. He eyes widened only slightly, her hand slowly lowering from covering her face as she came to recall what this smell was. In recent memory, she had dealt with more than a share of death, disease and even the undead to boot.. Unfortunately, this stench was all too familiar after the past weeks she had been dealing with the spreading and deadly virus.

Slowly, Chise stepped closer, careful to mind what mess there was on the floor and to not step into any of it before taking her place opposite of Lena of the table, eyeing the lifeless mass that laid between them. She listened carefully to what she was being instructed to do, all the while her eyes wandered across the corpse in a slow, meticulous visual examination. Anyone with eyes would of course first identify several pin-like puncture wounds could be found. They were very small; almost impossible to spot without some form of enhanced sensory skills as Lena had described, such as Dojutsu. Yet Chise lacked any of those particular skills, rather instead she had to rely on basic observational analysis, which brought her focus to the very subtle differentiation in slight traumas to the skin in the form of perpendicular directional force to the skin's surface, namely how the particular locations of what could only seem to be entry wounds at a glance. This would require a far steadier hand than she suspected she had, yet somehow she was already well into the mindset of "diagnosis" as Lena had described.

Carefully Chise shredded the upper most layer of her clothing; a cloak that she had brought with her to keep her dry and sustained in the colder, more humid temperate of the swamp. Moving to arrange it in a folded manner over a nearby chair's armrest, she returned to her place at the table, first making a momentary eye contact with Lena. "Uhm.. I suppose I will begin now, then.." Chise hummed rather sheepishly only after clearing her throat, something of a divot in the depth of her tone as if she were forcing a more "official" sound. After the momentary awkwardness, she lifted both of her hands in slow elevation, hesitantly moving to hover them over the body before letting her fingers naturally flex outward, leaving her open palms facing downward toward the body. She paused a moment, her eyes shifting up toward the visage of the paled, lifeless corpse, as if taking a silent moment of respect for the dead before she began.

With a slow inhale, one that was somehow steadier and more careful than when she first entered the room, despite the rank smell still permeating the air aggressively, Chise began to concentrate inwardly, prioritizing her focus to the tips of her fingers, the flats of her palms, the very tingling sensation of even the feel of resting air stimulating against her skin that only became more hyper-sensitive as chakra began to flow naturally through her arms, down the length of her forearms, through her wrists and finally into her hands, spreading in an even dispersion that coated them like a slow-filling basin. As her hands began to gradually illuminate in a layering of the chakra she was guiding into them, she carefully opened her emerald eyes as she very slowly lowered her palms closer to the surface of the corpse, yet kept them hovering an inch from actually touching it, leaving room for the chakra to flow naturally between them and interact with the surface as she slowly guided her hands in a thorough, sluggish pace up and down the surface that she had to work with. Her gaze hardly followed her hands; more specifically it was as though she were zeroed into the center of mass while her hands did the exploratory work. Firstly she worked across the body's torso, along left and right of the pectorals then down the sides, curving inward toward the abdominal area. Her eyes lit up only briefly as she blinked, her fingers

twitching as she passed the rib cage. Was it only because they were already dead..? Perhaps not.. "Several of the ribs have been broken on both sides, which might be caused by blunt-force trauma..?" The question hummed in a low tone as if it were more for her own thoughts, only for it to roll back in a slightly clearer tone. "The left side is more aggressive, but is also missing a vital organ. The heart is missing.." From there, she worked her way back up from the abdomen directly center of the body until she reached perfectly center between the collarbones. From there, she worked her way down the arm arranged closest to her on the table, utilizing both of her hands to do so, one following the other in a steady, careful tracing over the shape. ".. I don't sense any traces of chakra in the pathways.. Could be from having been dead awhile, but chakra usually leaves some residue.. Was he incapable of using his chakra..?" From there, she worked her way back up the arm and toward the center of the collarbones once again before working her way up the throat, elevating her hands to crest the curvature of the chin where she worked her way in a quite slow manner over the mouth, eyes, forehead, scalp, before letting her hands slowly trail back to the eyes, where for the first time she carefully touched the body, peeling the eyelids back to inspect what lied beneath them before closing them again, letting her hands come to rest at her sides. "His cornea are cloudy, putrefaction has begun to set in rather.. uhm, moderately. Rigor-mortis has certainly set, but has begun to loosen, meaning the joints and muscle tissue has had time to decay to release the expected tension.. I think he's been dead a few days.. Five or six at least..?"

After a moment of contemplation, Chise slowly withdrew her hands as she aimed to solve one of the mysteries that had been bugging her since she began. Chise moved to tuck a hand into one of her pockets, pulling out a pair of medical gloves that she had left over from when she was in the Takinomori hospital, aiding in the relief effort for the virus. Putting them on, she smoothly moved to tuck her hands along the under-portion of the side of the body closest to her, carefully lifting up against it with one hand on the hip, another hand on the shoulder to cause it to roll slowly onto it's side. The best she could do was keep it suspended in a half roll, leaving her hands pressed at the hip and shoulder to keep it propped in place long enough for her to inspect along the back. Her eyes widened as nearly immediately, the sight of a gaping hole that was left-of-center to the spine, located just beneath the shoulder blade. She narrowed her gaze at it a moment before slowly lowering the body back down to it's resting state on it's back as it had been before disrupting it, her eyes slowly flicking across the body in one last silent, observational overview as she processed her thoughts. "There's a large hole in his back.. it's likely the location where the heart was removed, but some vertebra are missing from the spine as well, suggesting it wasn't surgical or even remotely careful.. Precise, maybe.. It seems he was killed using some form of thin object as the tool of entry? Possibly Senbon, or maybe metal threads? Those are usually used for ensnarement and lacerations though, not puncture wounds, but I guess it wouldn't be impossible.."

She seemed as though she was slightly taken a back from the whole, scene. Which was understandable and amusing to Lena at least, though a lot of what she thought remained in her head and didn't translate to her body language. Just standing their watching her student she wondered what she thought of everything, there must have been some underlying thoughts. But, with all that in mind what Chise was actually explaining to Lena was... impressive.

"You've clearly done your research, your lingo and demeanour. The way you carefully examine and handle your patient, even with it being dead is... careful. I am impressed."

Lena moved closer to Chise, looking over the gaping hole in the man's back. Lena wondered if Chise had figured it out, it wasn't too difficult a puzzle. If she did figure it out, she wasn't expressing it - though that was good, a good doctor - medical ninja... keeps their emotions in check under pressure. Lena wondered how far this could be taken.

"Depends on the volume of senbon or 'threads'. Enough controlled all at once can do a lot."

Black Threads leaked out from the scarred cracks in her skin all slowly wiggling, slithering and rising up around her as she further added an explanation on how the man was killed. The Threads immediately retracted back inside of her body and she rolled her shoulders back and cricked her neck.

"Uh. Well...You've done the first step."

Description: The basic technique of Kakuzu's unique Kinjutsu Earth Grudge Fear it allows the user to manipulate the threads that compose his body freely with each use. The user can not only alter his own body form and structure but also use the threads to attack or defend from incoming techniques. As Kakuzu's skin is still stitched to keep his humanoid form when not used, he can take advantage of this technique to propel his hands or limbs at great distances and grab a target. Its also this technique that allows Kakuzu to detach his masks from his own body to form the "animals" which he uses in combat.
Note: Can only be used by Kakuzu

Lena walked away from the table and grabbed the back of a wooden chair that had been knocked over, lifting it up and dragging it over to Chise. Placing it next to her, Lena crossed her arms calmly and sat on the edge of the table with the dead guy.

"You're gonna feel shaky, you're gonna want to sit. The body was laced with a poison and you touched it."

Lena allowed Chise to realise that her body was being attacked from the inside and take a seat; observing how she'd react and if any form of panic/shock would set in before continuing.

"Now. A Good medical ninja will have decent resistance to poison and may want to choose to work with it in the future. For you to do this, you need to focus on your chakra at its core. This, when you look at the chakra circulatory system, is the central spiral network of chakra paths thats surrounds your chakra source, normally located in your abdomen. When you focus on it, you need to visualise a growing yellow and warm aura, spreading from your core, outwards towards your skin. Its this focus and this will that will make your chakra passively aggressive towards pathogens and most natural toxins and infectious diseases. This chakra is invisible to the naked eye and doesn't go beyond the users skin. However, doujutsu might see the aura growing and expanding from the medical ninjas core...."

Lena's eyes turned from her normal colour to a red, 3 tomoe surrounding her pupil as she observed the chakra within Chise to see if she could pull this off.

Chise blinked as she took in the initial compliment that she seemed to receive from her mentor on the subject. She considered for a moment everything she had said up to that particular point, realizing that perhaps she had spoken a bit more "textbook" than she initially knew she was capable of. A light crimson crossed her cheeks in a bashful reaction as she turned her emerald eyes toward her feet, shifting about in something of an aimless wandering for a time before she recollected her composure long enough to raise and spot Lena circling the table to come along on her side of it. Chise listened as carefully as her mentor began to comment on her deduction of the cause of death and tools used, only for her eyes to perk in a momentary widened state as she turned more attentively toward the woman to bare witness to the sudden growth-like "threads" that were protruding out of her. Chise's footing slid into a sideward arrangement, bringing her to face forwardly toward Lena before stepping back a couple of paces, if nothing else but to bring her into a fuller visual so Chise might have a better time at analyzing what was currently happening. After a couple of blinks, she stepped closer once more, tilting her head sideward a bit as if to arrange a different angle for herself to view what was occurring, perhaps a different light? She noted how the stitched scars themselves seemed to be the primary points where these unusual things came from; they didn't appear to be covered in blood or any other fluid necessarily, at least not a glance.. so it seemed to be natural, at least for Lena.

"Ah.. I guess this would explain our patient then.." This was all that she managed to say, clear and rather unwavering in her tone as her gaze softened. She slowly straightened her posture once again and returned her focus back toward the body on the table. It was as if she were all together unperturbed by what she just witnessed, or the fact that the suggestion made by revealing them was seemingly received, loud and clear. It was almost as if she was no stranger to "unusual" things that some would consider horrific in nature; real or otherwise.. "I won't ask questions, since none of them would change that this person is gone now. I can just assume you had your reasons, and hope my assumption is right.."

With that, Chise returned her focus back toward Lena, perking a curious brow across her expression as she watched her mentor fetch a chair, out of the blue. She eyed it, watching as it was brought close to her before she was suddenly instructed to sit, being told that she was now poisoned and the symptoms were likely to begin taking effect. Almost as if on queue, Chise's vision began to blur. This caused a hand to land upon the edge of the table the body still laid upon as if instinctively to catch her own balance, only for her to opt to take advantage of the chair brought to her to slowly lower herself into it. Her brows knitted together strenuously as she recalled the symptoms of the virus baring similar results as this, yet somehow she could tell this was different.. A moment passed where she felt a temporary sense of betrayal; she was here to learn, and had she been told up front that this was an expected thing from her in order to press forward, she would have likely agreed and consented to it from the start. She was determined, after all, and felt she was too deep to turn back at the suggestion of facing a challenge after being told there was a way to beat it. But that hardly mattered now that she was already in this sinking ship; she didn't have time to "feel" any sort of way, all she could do was listen carefully to what she was being told and try her best to execute it.

After a short delay following the explanation given to her, Chise tried to clear her consistently fogging thoughts to the best of her abilities in order to stir around for references to what Lena was talking about. Had she read something about this before..? She recalled glimpses of diagrams and text-filled scrolls that referenced the Chakra pathway system; functionally identical to chakra as blood vessels are to blood; a circulatory maze that flows inherently through the body of each individual, no exception. If this were true, then the poison, regardless of it's rate of spread throughout her system, should theoretically leave her at no particular disadvantage, given the expansive coverage of the system in her that carries chakra throughout her body. With a slow, shallow breath taken as further symptoms began to set in, straining her natural breathing capacity, Chise opted to try and refrain from focusing too intently on the discomfort that brought her. Her gaze was only blurry and distracting toward the realization that she was poisoned, so she instead closed her eyes in a slow, careful manner. Her hearing was hyper-sensitive, as if plugged full of water as the buzzing of the insects nearby due to the corpse in the room only shook her skull more aggressively than they normally would, so she lifted her hands, lightly pressing her palms over her ears gently; not to plug them, but to cup over them, leaving enough room for air, yet to muffle and disperse sound in the process. The smell of the room was hardly of any violation to her any more, most definitely after having been there this long, so now all that she needed to do was focus. She wasn't entirely sure where to start; was the concentration of her chakra all that was required in a specific area, as it was for any particular Jutsu or technique that required it? Did she need to spread it out more evenly? Focus organs, or concentrate on where the poison may have first made contact and began to flow through her body..?

"..
normally located in your abdomen.." The words of her mentor that had since been given some time ago suddenly reverberated back through her immediate thoughts. Chise took this as the building foundation for her focus; first bringing forth a visualization of the diagrams and charts she
You must be registered for see images
recalled seeing in textbooks and scrolls that she had seen. She didn't need to remember any of the words, any of the lingo or definitions as if this were some sort of test.. She needed to recall only the visual reference. Once that image had shown itself in the forefront of her mind, she began to narrow it toward the central point, fixed behind the abdominal wall as if intertwined between her intestines. There, she began to imagine something of a basin, or a bowl there. One that she needed to fill.. carefully, precisely, intently. Slowly, she began to concentrate on this very image, her chakra weaving through this bowl as if gradually flowing into a growing vortex, of which began to take on a warm sensation, as if it were representative of her own intense, concentrated will. Over time, it began to expand from the centralized "
bowl" that she started with, of which began to overflow and spread outwardly. From there, her visualization of the diagrams she recalled seemed to grow as well; removing the visual magnifications of the abdominal and growing to view more of the circulatory pathways that flowed, watching as the growing warmth enveloped that image as well, washing over it's entirety. The warmth seemed to swell more prominently within herself, shiver-like sensations rolling across her arms and down her spine, flowing like a gentle, rushing wave through her chest. Somehow the symptoms seemed to be alleviating. She retrained her focus on the image of her own circulatory system, focusing on the outward expansion of the originally centralized physicality of her will flow in an even dispersion throughout her body, pushing outwardly nearer and nearer until just beneath the surface of her skin, where her own visualization seemed to fade as her senses became more prominent in her focus once more.

A heavy breath escaped Chise as her hands fell from her ears and landed lightly yet quickly across her lap. She panted a moment, her eyelids slowly rising as her emerald eyes strained to refocus to the light -however dim- that was within the room, yet only for a moment. She remained focused on her hands for a time as she attempted to compose her breathing, taking in a slow deep breath as she refocused herself inwardly to some extent, attempting to retain the concentration needed to keep the outward expulsion of her chakra within her own system focused on the task of singling out whatever antigens that were coursing through her at present, attempting to seize and eject, or isolate and deconstruct.. ".. What.. poison was this..? I should try to.. make notes for later.. study.."

Description: The user will raise his resistance enabling him to stop the progression of a poison, toxin or venom he might have been contaminated with after feeling its first effects. This will not cure the poisoning but rather stop its progression so the user can continue to fight, hopefully winning the fight, to then be able to treat the poisoning. This is a skill that only consumes a move when activated, passively draining chakra, focus and stamina from the user as each turn passes.

OOC : If you get infected by a poison and, like genjutsu have reasonably deduced you are poisoned/infected, you can stop any further progression of the poison past the current effects you feel. It will cost you a lot of chakra over time, however you'll learn jutsu to remove poison. Fuuinjutsu provides a quicker way to remove poison, while Medjutsu has two cannon methods to remove it. We'll get to 'em.

BTW What Rank Jutsu can you learn up to atm?

It was indeed impressive and she quite talented in her chakra control, as Lena observed with her sharingan how Chise worked it within her body. It seemed she did quite well. Though it had taken a bit of a toll on her, it wasn't over.

"Resistance is not immunity, the lesson is not over yet. Save your questions for the end. The poison is still in your body, you will still die, you have just slowed it's effects"

Lena stood off the Table and walked over to Chise sitting in the chair, she scooped the young shinobi up into her arms, carrying her over to another door inside of the shack. As she walked she spoke;

"The Poison resistance just allows you to stop the spread of poisons from clutching onto more parts of your body. You still need to remove it properly."

She kicked the door open with a tap of her foot and they entered a room; this room was much cleaner, nicer looking than the previous. It had actually been cleaned and kept nicely. Their was a pleasant vanilla smell in the air and clean sheets on the bed that occupied it. Lena gently placed the Kunoichi lying down on the bed.

"I don't know how used to being poisoned you are..." Lena walked over to the door and closed it, before walking back over to the bed and sitting on it beside Chise. "...but as a medical ninja you'll be able to fight whilst poisoned, though you will need to dull and delay the effects to stop it completely consuming you."

She held her hands over Chise's hand and arm and focused her chakra through the palms, transferring the energy over so that it may cling to the poisoned tissue. She expelled a little more just as a medium for the transfer, the poison latching onto the chakra instead of the tissue, all gathering to a certain point. She then moves her hands away from Chise and disperses the chakra away from the, removing the poison. She repeats the process on Chise's other limb and other areas that she determines the poison to be.

"To answer your question, I'm not a poison expert myself - that's a whole other field you could become a master of if you wish. You know Sado, right? He has invented his own poison and is probably a better person to ask about it. I just bought this from a dodgy merchant in the Great Wind Desert. Sorry"

Lena takes out a Syringe and then sticks it into Chise's arm, an Antidote. OOC: To make an Antidote all you need to do is RP that you've done it with an antiserum mixed with herbs and other things you can get from a medical scroll, you get a cool bunch of items which I'll teach you soon. Sorry about the lack of RP, it's hard to write all this without breaking the 4th Wall in character. Chise would feel a lot better soon, though still probably quite tired.

"Get some sleep, when you feel you've got enough energy to proceed. Ask me anymore questions you like. I'll be outside cleaning up."

She stands up and leaves the room to clean up the corpse and the freshen the room up, similar to the bedroom. Using her Mokuton she'd fix up the room as well. In the centre of it the table now sanitised would remain with a chair on either side of the table, with food and tea prepared.

Jokyo Dokubutsu (Poison Removal)

Okay so this is a tricky one :p. To begin with, this technique does not cure a poisoning; it simply extracts a portion of the poison and prevents immediate death by delaying the ongoing poisoning. It mainly allows a medical nin enough time to prepare an antidote for the poison and to slow down the effects of a poison used against the medical nin so as to give them time to escape or prepare an antidote for themselves. A patient will still die from a lethal poisoning even if this technique is used if the poison is not treated. Truth be said this technique is less effective against highly advanced poisons that have very fast acting times.

(Iryō Ninjutsu: Doku Ekiso) Medical Technique: Poison Extraction Jutsu
Type: Supplementary
Rank: B-Rank
Range: Short
Chakra: 20
Damage: N/A
Description: An advanced medical jutsu used when the user cannot make enough antidote to cope with a poison. This is used to extract a great deal of the poison from a body, and then the antidote can be administered. The user will need a medium (his own chakra or a chakra receptive medium compatible with the human body, like water) which he will insert into the patients body, using his chakra to gather the poison directly from the tissues, merging it with the medium to then remove and discard. The technique can only remove a limited amount of poison and will not negate any ongoing effects as it cannot remove poison already being metabolized/in effect. Because of this, the medical ninja will still need to administer an antidote and will need to use the technique twice to remove all of the poison from the patient.
Note: can only be used twice, each use delaying the effects of the poison for 2 turns.

The jutsu works in the way that you insert (either your chakra or another highly absorbable, chakra-reactive medium) into the patients body, where it then looks for the poison in various vital organs, and when it finds it, it binds it to it's own energy and draws it out of the body. If using your own chakra (which you will most of the time) then that chakra cannot go back into your body otherwise you'll poison yourself, you have to discard it, if you're using the previously mentioned medium you have to throw it away. The use of specific chakra receptive mediums helps to mitigate/diminish the risk of self poisoning or injury when dealing with unknown poisons and, more importantly, with corrosive ones.

Removing the poison makes it easier to heal. You remove the "inactive" poison that is circulating the patients body and hasn't yet affected any tissue. By removing that you prevent further injuries and damage into the patient. However, the poison which is already affecting the tissues needs to be dealt with with antidote. If you didn't remove the "inactive", unused one, you'd need to supply antidote for a much longer period of time and would risk losing the patient in the inbetween.

( Iryō Suiton: Suika ) - Medical Water Style: Water Mosquito
Type:
Supplementary
Rank: A
Range: Short
Chakra: 30
Damage: N/A ( -20 damage as the poison is removed )
Description: After using the Tiger seal, the user creates water mosquitoes, that can be used to nullify poison in a target's body. Designed specifically to suck out poison, the user is unable to use anything else while concentrating on the target. Despite being a healing jutsu, the several mosquitoes cause pain to the body as it heals it.

Note the damage cause by using the mosquitoes. No water source requires though it does require as much concentration/attention as the poison extraction technique. This does however nullify the poisoning much quicker though damage already caused will still have to be treated.

Q&A

First of all, what would constitute a "highly absorbable, chakra-reactive medium"? Would this be some form of medical tool, or other cannon instrument we could use, or would it have to be, for example, a Custom Weapon which absorbs chakra?

The Highly Absorbable chakra-reactive medium can be Water, Wood, etc. It can be anything that reacts with chakra and is compatible with organic medium. Water was what we saw used in the manga by Sakura but you can also simply use your raw chakra. Wood is a possibility as its organic in nature and would be a nice medium for this. In theory, other elements/materials that are compatible with organic living things or that exist inside them can be used.

Is there any particular reason the technique cannot extract all of the poison? And, building on that question, if several med-nin worked together at once, would they be able to extract all of the poison? Or is the fact that we cannot extract it all tied into how poisons affect our bodies?

Poison will cling to the cells and tissues in a way that prevents you from pulling it all out without damaging the patient in one go. You need to take the first portion first, then redo the procedure to remove the remnants that might be left. In essence, you'll only be removing the poison that is "waiting to act" in the body, not the one already acting. Think of it as cleaning spilled oil on a surface. First you pass a cloth that takes the majority of the oil but there is always some left on the surface. You then pass a new cloth once again to clean whatever is left.

Would this work on other toxins aside from poison, such as, for example, venom? Or would this extract solely poison, and leave us unable to extract other deadly toxins?

We will speak about Poison, Toxins and Venoms further on but to answer your question, in terms of our RP, all 3 are cured in the same manner: remove + antidote.

What is considered an advanced poison? Considering that the technique is only B ranked, I'd assume that everything poisonous above B rank is too strong to be extracted, right?

Advanced poisons are all the custom poisons, the specific poisons. Anything not existing in real life/nature/narutoverse nature. Basically, man made poison. Poison form normal Poison Release techniques are not considered advanced. Sasori's poison is considered advanced poison though severely slow acting.

Good to know. I fully intend to purchase Fuuinjutsu next, once I've had the opportunity to build up some more Kumi to do so. I actually went into Medical Ninjutsu with the presumption that one was heavily intertwined with the other.

I'm currently Chunin rank, so I can learn up to A-rank techniques.

Chise felt the tension begin to leave her head but somehow only seemed to gradually grow back over and over again; a consistent thrum-like pulsation beating behind the eyes that made it difficult for her to concentrate on anything particular. She could hear her heart beating in her ears, feel her mouth drying out with each passing moment as she strained to maintain her composure and focus toward repelling the spread of the poison through the method she had just been thought. Her emerald eyes peered upward toward Lena in something of a curious manner, only for her to find herself an instant later hovering mid-air, balanced in place by her mentor's two arms tucked under her light frame. She let out a light yelp of surprise as the sudden motion stirred her senses drastically, a sudden rush of nausea pushing through her as the color in her face drained almost instantaneously. Somehow, after having been picked up in such a way, Chise couldn't help but let her inward focus slip of controlling her chakra core the way she had been. Her breathing began to part her lips in ragged, warm panting breaths as she tucked her hands into her own chest as if trying to feel for her own heart beat; like she were checking to make sure it was still there..

From one moment onto the next, as if in a blink, she found herself settled onto the surface of a bed. The familiar softness of it drew some of her tension from her on top of now being on a more solid arrangement than feeling like she were simply hovering in someone's arms. She turned her emerald gaze toward Lena, her breathing controlled yet still exasperated through her nose as she attempted to listen carefully to what she was being told and asked at the same time. ".. Can't say I've.. ever been poisoned before.. But this doesn't feel much different.. to being deathly ill. The body reacts.. quite similarly, so I'm used to symptoms like this.." That particular sentence seemed to be the last of what she had in her without properly passing out in the process. Shortly after, she suddenly felt a rush of relief pour over her; steadily and in a slow pace yet quite noticeable, given how drastic it was only a moment ago. She lifted her gaze just enough to see Lena holding onto her hands, watching as she seemingly cast away what poison was in her system in methodical layers. Once she finished, Chise lifted her hands slightly to herself, flexing her fingers lightly into her palms as she blinked, almost bewildered that it was.. that easy. At least from how Lena made it look. Suddenly, she felt a sharp pinch in the side of her arm, which stirred a yelp from her as she looked up from her hands at what it was. She had been injected with something, of which only brought her even more relief in a gradual manner, yet it was still surprising and caught her entirely off guard. With baggy eyes, she let out a heavy sigh, turning her gaze toward Lena directly. "We really need to work on this "heads up" thing.." Afterward, she waited pensively as the antidote seemed to set in rather quickly, yet this only brought relief to her in the form of a sudden rush of exhaustion. The suggestion to lie down seemed to ring true as she felt herself mid-way through the process of doing just that, her head lightly planting into the surface beside her. Her vision faded as she watched Lena disappear on the other side of the door, leaving her to rest for a spell..

After what felt like only an instant for her, given how quickly she managed to fall asleep, Chise's eyes slowly opened. Lifting her head, she could feel a similar sensation throbbing behind her eyes as before, yet it was more of a light, tedious one, as if the onset to an irritable headache. She passed a hand over her forehead for a moment as she brought herself up in a weak effort supported by her palms pressing into the bed. She peered up, looking for any windows in the room, noticing that it had grown considerably darker than it was when she had arrived. She wasn't all too certain how long she was out for, but it was certainly enough to alter the lighting. Lifting herself from the bed, she carefully moved for the door, opening it and peeking out a moment before stepping through, closing it lightly behind her as she looked around, lifting a hand up to rub gingerly at her right bicep in something of a personal method of comforting herself. "Ah.. Sorry for the wait.. I think I'm doing alright now. Thank you for the help, before. I should have been more careful handling the body. I'll keep that in mind next time."

Maybe Lena was being a little harsh - though the cliche response to her student would be that her enemies wouldn't give her a 'heads-up'. If Chise was not comfortable learning through Lena's method she could go at any time, but time would only tell. Her head turned towards the door as it opened, Lena took a seat on one side of the table,

"Don't apologise to the woman who poisoned you. You had no way of knowing without a form of sensory and even good doctors will want to get hands on with a patient or corpse. Now you know how to combat it; take the lesson and learn."

Lena click her fingers and a scroll appeared on the center of the table, unravelling itself across it's surface between the plates of food.

"Dig in if you wish. The Scroll is going to be important to you, this one is yours. Read it and remember what you have, the tools are basic but necessary for any good doctor and they'll allow you to efficiently and effectively treat your patient. I'm under the impression you know how to perform the Kuchiyose technique?"

Chise's gaze lowered momentarily as she listened to the careful lecture she was being given by her mentor. She didn't feel scolded, at least not in the sense that it typically suggested. Rather she was pensive; considering everything that she was being told. She knew she was all too agreeable in most -if not all- cases, even when she was clearly wronged or put in an disadvantageous situation. Somehow that was just how she viewed bad situations; how she coped with them. That's all she really knew, considering the past she had lived that required that sort of agreeableness just to avoid swelling in her own frustrations with the situations she were put in.

With a careful nod of affirmation, she finally lifted her gaze once again to eye the table of food. With a blink, she casually shuffled forward into the

room that seemed quite unfamiliar, considering the condition it was in when she had last seen it. She had given a quick, inspecting look around herself before looking down toward the table in front of her that had all the food and now the scrolls upon it as well. Her eyes slowly peeled open in a widening state as she seemed to almost immediately recognize what it was. Quickly she rushed over to it, taking it up carefully yet eagerly as she eyed it silently for a moment as a gentle, thin smile worked along her lips, clearly having been familiar with this particular scroll. She perked up as she heard the question asked of her, turning her focus toward Lena once again. "Ah. Well, I know of the Kuchiyose Technique; it's a space-time ninjutsu that utilizes bonds and contracts to allow for transportation through summoning from one designated space to another. It's most commonly utilized in the contracting of animals for companions and familiars to most Shinobi, but I imagine it can be used for other things?"

Chise was very eager to get her hands on the scroll, she was very happy in fact. Lena was amused. She took a sip of her tea as the girl spoke to her and nodded in response, "Yes, for summoning tools for use like this one, or weapons. You just need your blood and a few hand seals; then slam your hands on the scroll to summon whatever your mind desires. Do it now if you like, summon a Scalpel for me."

Lena rests her elbows on the table, holding her head up in her hands to observe her student's attempt at the Ninjutsu.

Lena rests her elbows on the table, holding her head up in her hands to observe her student's attempt at the Ninjutsu.
Chise's eyes followed the expression and curiosity that seemed to stem from her outward reaction toward the appearance of the scroll. She blinked a couple of times in a sheepish manner, turning her focus back toward the scroll in a momentary silence. "Someone who has been very helpful to me has one of these; she showed it to me briefly during the initial outbreak of the virus that is spreading throughout the world, and used it to help so many people in such an effortless manner. Ever since I had seen it used that way, I've been very eager to learn how to use one myself.. So you could say this is more or less what drew me to Medical Ninjutsu." She said with a considerably awkward, yet sincere laughter beneath her breath as she moved to rub gingerly along the back of her head, fingers combing through her own fiery red hair in the process before lowering it to listen more intently to the following explanation she had been given.

Carefully Chise laid the scroll out across a part of the table that was clear, carefully unraveling it to reveal the written contents inside of it. She eyed along the information for a time before focusing primarily on the central summoning circle that was arranged within the scroll. Lifting a hand, she eyed her palm for a moment as she tried to recall what all she had read in regards to summoning techniques, and what she could remember others doing in particular that she had seen using this same scroll. Bringing her thumb up to her lips, she pinched a portion of the pad to her appendage against her canine, allowing for a sharper and quicker break of the skin that punctured inward before allowing blood to surface almost immediately. Afterward, she arranged both hands in front of her before proceeding to carefully perform the arrangement of hand seals correlating to the summoning technique they had discussed.. Boar, Dog, Bird, Monkey, then Ram. Along the way, she had begun to visualize within her mind the very tool that the woman had asked of her to summon forth before moving to plant her blood-drawn hand in the center of the scroll's summoning circle. Upon contact, the scroll seemed to react to the seemingly minuscule chakra she had tried to push through it, causing it to produce a sudden plume of smoke between her and it. Lifting her hand, she found a scalpel arranged neatly in her hand, of which she eyed intently for a moment before turning toward Lena. "Uhm, was there anything else you wanted me to try and summon?"

"Hmm, I see. Well now you can make your own stories and inspire new young shinobi to become medical ninja. Well that is if I manage to learn to give you a 'heads up' during our session today."

Lena teased Chise, there was no aggression in her voice, it was just a bit of fun. She watched her student perform the kuchiyose no jutsu and successfully summon a Scalpel in the palm of her hands. The corners of the threaded monster's lips flickered,

"No, this is proof enough the Scalpel is all you'll need for our next lesson."

Lena sat back in her chair, it leaned on it's back two legs as she raised her foot onto the table, the her leg crossing over the other as she kept her balance. Her arms folded and she peered at Chise.

"This is a passive ability medical shinobi has, it's not amazing but it's useful. I was thinking of just snatching the scalpel off you and driving it through your hand but I listened to you and decided in your own pace." A wicked smile curled on Lena's face, "I will find it amusing to watch you cut yourself anyway...

...Blood Coagulation! when the blood hardens in response to trauma. As a Medical shinobi you'll be able to passively stop yourself from bleeding out from superficial wounds - note that it doesn't seal your cuts and you'll still have to heal the boo boo. You just have to focus your chakra to the spot you're losing your life liquid from, force the blood to speed up the coagulation process and stop any more from escaping. Though if you seal up too much blood, you'll clot and that'll be... reaaal bad. So only small bits please, I'll be watching."

Lena taps her temple, referring to her Sharingan peering into Chise's chakra system. The Threaded monster remained relaxed with her legs up, waiting for a response.

Chise offered a small nod in recognition to the suggestion that it was now up to her to pave the way for someone new, just like her, in the future toward finding an interest in the medical arts. She wondered for a moment just what the probably of that scenario was, exactly. What would the world look like come that time period where that would even be a possibility for her to do? Truth be told, if she tries to look far enough back, she hadn't even considered the possibility that she'd be alive, studying medical ninjutsu herself right now.. Life has a tendency to change in drastic and sudden ways, so the best she could do is do what she could now, and hope it leads her in the direction she wanted.

She lifted her attention to eye Lena with something of a dull stare as she listened to the suggestion of stabbing her hand with the knife she had just summoned. She let out a soft sigh, opting to simply be grateful that she didn't decide to do that exact thing and leave it at that.. Slowly she turned her attention to the scalpel in her hand as she listened carefully to the instruction she was being given. She lifted the scalpel within her right hand as she considered where to make the cut on herself. She eyed the length of her sleeve that held firmly around her left wrist, of which seemed to stir a momentary stillness from within herself as if she recalled something. With a light shake of her head, she simply lifted her left hand instead, moving to press the blade of the scalpel along her open palm before pausing a moment, drawing in a slow, steady breath before holding it, of which she quickly and smoothly slipped the blade across her flesh, splitting it in a clean cut down the width of her palm from both sides. Blood instantaneously began to surface, of which she made to sure hold it away from the table, having it arranged in the air as the blood flowed downward and began to drip off the edge of her palm and onto the floor. Her brows knitted together as the air she held escaped in sharp, drawn out hisses from the sudden stinging sensation it left in it's wake. She twitched, eyeing the slowly dripping blood on the floor as she lifted her emerald gaze to Lena for a moment with an awkward laugh. "Ah.. my bad.. Guess I should have put something on the ground to prevent a mess. I'll.. clean up once this is done.."

With the scene set, Chise turned her attention to the lengthy cut along her left palm. She watched for a moment as the blood flowed smoothly and carefully out of the new slit that was made; it was almost mesmerizing and quite fascinating to watch, if not for the consistent pain that would shock her back into focus of the reality that it was something that needed to be tended to and quick. Taking in another careful breath, this time one that was a hint shakier than the last due to the discomfort she was feeling, yet somehow far calmer than one might expect as if somewhat used to this sort of pain and process. She began to mull over the instruction she had been given just prior to the cut, recalling that she was told to focus her chakra toward the direction of the wound. Opting to start there, she maintained a narrow, centralized focus on the cut as she began to stir the chakra from within herself first, wanting to get a feel for it's presence within her system before she began to gradually guide it down the length of her arm, prioritizing the stinging sensation of the wound, as well as the tingling numbness that began to run across her fingertips from the lack of blood flowing naturally through them as the source of directional guidance for her chakra to push toward. After a short delay, her chakra began to pour in from her arm and wrist, into the palm of her hand, slowly filling once again similarly to when she had first examined the body when she first arrived. This time however, instead of allowing the chakra to distribute evenly across the hand, she began to draw it inwardly toward the center, concentrating it in a steady pathing outline surrounding the cut that was made. Occasionally, her focus would break as the wound would catch some cold, still air, resulting in the stinging sensation to flare up once again and stirring another soft, under-breathed hiss before breathing carefully through her nose to clear her mind a moment, long enough for her to refocus on the control of her chakra. Once the chakra was adequately managed surrounding the wound, she began to push it into the flowing blood surrounding it. She was careful and attentive to this particular process; she knew her life wasn't at immediate risk, but it very easily could be if she didn't take her time to do it right. In a steady, slow process she began to knead her chakra in a makeup with her surfacing blood before drawing from her will to see the flow of the blood to begin gradually solidifying from an outward-in process, first aiming to create an outer shell of the blood structural enough to stunt the flow of the blood, slowing it considerably before all together causing a pause to the draining red fluid from the wound, leaving what was already out of her to continue dripping slowly down her hand, but instead left her wound "semi-sealed."

Slowly Chise lifted her gaze to eye her mentor, her expression softening slightly as she kept her left hand elevated slightly, while still holding the scalpel in her right. "Uhm.. So what exactly is the time period that this can last for? I'm sure it's dependent on the user's chakra reserves, but does it have limits regardless of that..?"

"Don't worry about the blood on the floor, ain't my house." Lena kept a close eye on Chise's hand, the crimson that dripped from her palm. The threaded monster's left hand shook under her crossed arms, she kept her cool though and tried to conceal it as best as possible. As she saw a lack of blood flow and more chakra gather to that area she took her legs off the table and leaned forward in her chair.

"This is a passive ability for medical shinobi, it doesn't heal or anything it jsut stops you from passing out from blood loss. Shitty way to go, it's like creating a barrier where the cut is so the blood just runs through your system as normal." (OOC: this has no real help, it's more a cosmetic RP thing; though it's nice to have in a storytelling perspective - you could potentially make useful customs based on this concept if you're creative enough)

Lena looks Chise up and down, "bet that stings a bit huh? You know much about the lightning element? A smart shinobi like you would at least know of Raiton's paralysing properties. Create a little on the tip of your finger and zap your bloody hand. Instead of just willy nillying the poke and hoping to god the zap does something when you put your fingertip against it. Focus. Concentrate on what you're hitting, strike the nerves - overload and numb the nerves with a lightning charge."

A sudden realization struck her at the response that she was given in regards to the fact that the house was in fact not Lena's, but someone else's entirely. She looked around a moment, as if trying to find something that was no longer there. Where had the body gone..? She contemplated asking Lena that very question, but opted to perhaps sit on it and not look too deeply into the matter. After all, she already suggested she intended to trust that there was a reasonable cause for killing the man, so surely asking too many questions about the situation would only feel contrary to that trust.

Chise instead turned her focus toward the cut on her hand, watching as the blood seemingly "
paused" it's flowing. It was quite peculiar. It was certainly unusual to say the least. She knew there was a cut there; apart from the fact that she made it herself, she could still feel the stinging sensation it left behind from being an open cut, open to even the slightest brushing stimuli across it from even the stillness of the air floating around it creating a discomfort that she couldn't just brush away. This of course wasn't the first time she had a wound like this, nor would it likely be the last. In some ways, she was relatively calm about the cut itself, simply more intrigued by the capacity she seemingly always had to prevent the flow of blood in this way, but only now had it put into perspective for her to be able to accomplish it. Perhaps one day she'd look into methods of enhancing on this particular skill, possibly finding different ways to utilize it's principles to adapt other things with it.

Slowly she turned her gaze toward Lena, listening to the initial question she was being asked. Her cheeks flushed briefly at being referred to as a "smart Shinobi," something that she had never personally considered herself, especially since she was such a greenhorn to the Ninja World and the many different things correlating within it. So she read some books and happened to remember some of the information in them.. did that really make her smart, or reliable on the subject? Perhaps that was why she was here now; wanting experience and application of the knowledge so she might improve her understanding of it all. Shaking the thoughts away a moment, she clear her throat softly as she recalled the need for an answer. "Ah.. Well, yes, I do know of Raiton; I know some techniques for it as well but I'd hardly say I'm very well versed in the element and it's diversity in application. I do know it has paralyzing properties that vary depending on the severity of the electric discharge utilized, which would suggest it can be manipulated to have specific and concentrated effects rather than broadly rendering loss of motor function or possibly consciousness to a target." Chise listened intently to the explanation that followed as what she was expected to do next. She turned her attention back toward her cut

left palm. Was it really so simple..? Perhaps simple wasn't exactly the right term, as it was something that had a lot of room for error as she was warned about, but somehow it seemed like such a basic function that could be utilized in so many different ways if just given the notion of it's possibility in the first place.

Slowly she moved to grab hold of a cloth after setting down the scalpel she had in her right hand, slowly working to dab around the cut on her hand though working intently to avoid touching it directly, if nothing else but to avoid unwanted stimulation against it to stir even more unpleasant sensations. After a moment of carefully cleaning off the surfaced blood around the cut, of which had already begun to dry a little, staining her skin a faint tint of red, it at least gave her a clear area to work with in order to perform the next step she was instructed to do. She moved to rest her left hand against the surface of the table in front of her as a means to stabilize the hand for her to work on, naturally her palm facing up with the cut. She lifted her now free right hand, gradually drawing chakra through her circulatory system, as was relatively second nature to her at this point. The chakra flowed and kneaded into the lightning nature expected of it until it drew to the tips of her right fingers, allowing her to carefully move it toward her left palm, eyes fixed to the cut in its full length. She tried to imagine what the muscle and nerve makeup beneath the layer of skin might look like.. What impulses were being distributed from the region of her hand that was injured and travelling in the natural signals to her brain to recognize the damage that was done, stimulating the stinging and pain-related discomforts respectively. In a slow and steady manner, she carefully moved her fingers forward, tucking her middle and ring fingers into her palm, leaving her index and pinkie fingers extended as the source of where the chakra was being concentrated. This created a reliable, consistent measured gap between the two fingers that allowed her to place them on either side of the cut across her left palm, keeping the fingers far enough from the cut itself to avoid touching it directly but close enough all the same to be able to work at the effected area just the same. Slowly and in a steady, careful manner she began to release the concentrated chakra from the tips of her two fingers, allowing the chakra to flow against her own skin gradually as she smoothly began to pull her fingers downward from one edge of her palm toward the other. She could feel the tingling sensation of the electricity working it's way through her muscles, then through her nervous system and back again in such rapid succession that it was impossible to distinguish the difference from one to another. Occasionally it would send a rather curious twitch through her left hand, as if having just been shocked, but she didn't necessarily feel the difference, it was simply her muscles responding naturally to the jolt and discharge. After a short period of time and working in diligent, consistent lines with the pathing of her fingertips across either side of the cut, she began to feel the difference; or perhaps it was more accurate to say she began to feel nothing at all. The tingling at the tips of her fingers gradually faded until it felt.. asleep. She could move them still, yet if not for her eyes noticing they were being moved by the natural reflex of doing so, she wouldn't even notice it was happening from the lack of sensation. Her emerald eyes disappeared briefly in several blinks across her expression as she slowly lifted her left hand to eye the cut that was still very much there, somehow a tad put off by the fact she could not feel it now.. ".. I'm not so sure this is the best thing in world. It is nice that there's no pain anymore, but pain is a natural reaction the brain designates to parts of the body to recognize a problem that needs to be mended. I suppose it's good if you plan to take care of the wound right away, but this could easily go unchecked if not done immediately due to the inability to recognize pain that's meant to correlate with it."

Description: The user charges electrical chakra into his index finger and hits the opponent. Doing so temporarily neutralizes all feeling to the targeted area for a limited amount of time, essentially anesthetizing it (by overloading and numbing the nerves with the electrical discharge), allowing the medical ninja to perform minor surgery or sutures without the patient having to endure the pain or being able to move his body part. This type of local anesthesia is very effective on the limbs and superficial tissues and, depending on which nerve cluster/pressure point/body area its applied to, can even leave a whole limb anesthetized. In battle, this skill can be used with free form taijutsu to great effect, though, due to the rapid contact, will produce a shorter effect.
Note: Lasts 5 turns for medical uses but only one turn if used offensively

"It's mostly used for treating patients without them... screaming, though nullifying pain for yourself is a good way to continue fighting without drawbacks. Though after the technique fades and it all comes rushing back. Well. You're gonna be in a world of hurt."

Lena stands up and takes out a scroll from her pouch, she places it down on the table for now before she begins to speak again. Moving around Chise.

"Any medical ninja knows that one of the key aspects of healing a patient is to ensure his body is in balance. This relates to chakra paths and nerves a lot. As such, any disturbance to one, disturbs the other. Our body has important key points to ensure this balance. These points are associated with important nerves in our body which are, by extension, closely associated with our chakra system. By disrupting nerves you can achieve a multitude of effects, from the practical "numbness" and "paralysing" of a given area to loss of conscience to disturbances to your heart rate to loss of conscience. "

"Knowing the weak spots in the body as well as what happens when you attack them is essential in both treating ninjas and defending yourself. Oh yes you can definitely use this to effect in your hand to hand combat. There are various weak points and we won't list them as most of them are common knowledge; but some, specially those that require anatomical knowledge and pressure point knowledge as well as the effects that trigger from them are your upper hand in a fight. Some are shown in this image."
Lena reaches over Chise's shoulder and unravels the scroll on the table and shows her student a labelled picture of a man. "Other weak points like the Occipital ridge or the vagus nerve will require you to do some homework. But I'm sure you'll enjoy that."

Lena lets Chise take in the information and before she could ask questions or speak strikes her spine with a palm. A pulse of chakra disrupts her nervous system and she would just collapse to the floor with no proper control of her Body. The commands her brains would make to the parts of the body she would want would be all mixed up, her nerves confused and recieving the wrong information.

"Re-learn how your body works." Lena pulls her seat around, placing it directly next to Chise's body and sits beside her. "You need to understand, feel those pathways go to work."

Because the brain and body communicate using electrical impulses, the user can use the field to disrupt the target's ability to move. The result is the commands to move one body part being relayed to another, making it near impossible for the opponent to move unless they have high skill and understanding of the body or with time. This effect can be achieved by making contact with the enemy, preferably near or directly on his spine (neck, lower back, etc). Contact with a single limb or body part will affect only its symmetric counterpart. The effects last for 10 turns unless countered but are short live in high level taijutsu users (Jyuken users, EIG users), which have an unparalleled awareness of their body movement, quickly adjusting themselves to their new nervous arrangement and in medical ninjas, who possess a high level of awareness of their own bodily functions, achieving the same effect by pure control and adaptability.
