um... no? don't get me wrong, I grew up poor, but if someone would have offered help I would have been so offended I would have wanted to smack them right across the other side of the earth. besides, why would someone owe anything to anyone else just because they have better conditions? it's not their responsibility, they should do jack s-it about it.
(I'm excluding serious situations here where people actually need help, but even then, some might not require money)
Theres nothing wrong with taking help where you could use it... if I had the money to pay for my children's college tuition or could help them in any way to further their career I would. I'm not saying that I would do the work for them. But I would provide them the resources they needed to succeed if I had them. I dont think there is anything wrong with that.

Well, yeah, if it's your own kid, ofc not. A really bad parent would refuse to help their own kid, imo. But the friends part, that's what stirred me. If I'm friends with someone it's not for their money and the last thing I expect from them is making things easier for me. And they shouldn't either. Ofc, if there is some other reason, if there's something serious going on, thank you for the help, but I'm paying everything back as soon as possible

Yup !
If you look through history, every person in an important position had a connection. This is a poor example but you can’t become king or queen without being related directly to them. Even with religion, priests and nuns used to be able to do anything they wanted without serious consequences. There’s a lot with law too, with the Clinton Body Count but that’s a different topic LMAO

I worded that awkwardly, sorry.
I just meant helping friends in general with what could benefit to their overall success. Doesnt have to or should even be monetarily, but you could help by being their letters of recommendations, reference a mentorship. Whatever
