Good chapter. Not sure what to think about the Sabo teases.

A lot of bits make me think it's not a report that Sabo died but maybe Sabo captured and set to be killed.
Firstly, when Morgans was asked which headline to use he said 'That there have been casulaties' being plural but we only hear about Sabo in the comments. This makes me wonder what would have happened to the others if Sabo died?

Secondly, Morgans says 'And the fact the killer hasn't been found' if Sabo had been killed it would have been by a WG member or member of the reverie so why hide after killing a rev? That makes no sense.

Lastly, we have Morgans saying 'I make the public dance with lies, but I decide which lies I publish' This makes me think even if the paper does say the Sabo died it's a lie by Morgans. But to what end?

What I think the report is about is Sabo killing either a CD or king trying to help Kuma.

Other notes:

I know CP's aren't particularly known for being tough bar CP-9 but look at Morgans knocking one out.

Also, what's BB talking about? Part of me thinks he's going for the Revs(and Sabo) that were at the Reverie, part of me thinks he meant the Shichibukai and he'd try to make them crew mates, a small part of me was thinking what if he was talking about BM and Kaido but that bit wasn't in the news so I doubt that.

BB's going after the fire fruit! He lost his chance twice and he wont fail the third time!

OT: What a chapter! I cant remember the last time I felt both confused and hyped at the same time! (I think the last time I felt this way was when I saw the Endgame trailer)

I love this kind of chapters as they show that the world keeps spinning even without the main characters being directly involved and creates a dynamic that in the long run will fuel the main plot.

We received a lot of information, but at the same time nothing is explained properly, so there's a lot of room for interpretation.

As I see it there were at least three important articles in the newspaper:

- Abolishing of the Shichibukai system

- Something happened to Vivi and/or Cobra

- Sabo's supposed death

Now the first one I had been expecting for a while now, though it's still a bit surprising it came so suddenly. I already assumed most of the Reverie would be done off-panel, but it remains a bit of pity such a hyped event wasn't given that much direct screen time. Nonetheless an interesting development; seeing Mihawk excited gave me goosebumps. He was a bit of weird character in the sense that nothing about him seems piraty and his personality never fitted someone who would work for the government, but I'm thrilled to see how he will act in his 'natural' environment.

Now the 2nd article is what I believe to be the one the WG wanted to cover up. There's no reason to do that for the announcement that the Shichibukai have been removed (on the contrary) and I also don't see why they would want to keep silent that Sabo 'died'. On the other hand that something happened to one of the royal families in Mariejoise is quite the scandal. In particular because we know she was on Im's hit list. They have all the reason to keep that quiet.

Which brings me to the third article; I think there is little doubt that the newspaper says Sabo died as the reactions of the characters would have never been like that if it was anything else. My first thought was that Im made a move on Vivi/Cobra, but that Sabo intervened, which was an unexpected development for both sides and made the situation escalate. It's still far too early to tell, but currently I find it doubtful Sabo truly died. Not only would that make everything his character went through rather pointless, having someone like him dying off-screen makes me feel emotionally disconnected.

On another note I love Morgans character. He looks like a caricature of himself and he pulls it off wonderfully.

Lastly X-Drake! Magnificent twist! When the Supernova's were introduced on Sabaody and Drake had a bout with Kizaru, a comment the latter made intrigued me. He said that the reason why Drake became a pirate, was because he wanted to know how it was on the other side. This is a type of reasoning that would work for a character that has a twisted personality, but Drake has always been portrayed as someone rational and disciplined. Then we learned about a bit of his past in Law's flashback and made his decision of becoming a pirate make even less sense. But now it appears that all of this was an elaborate scheme years in the making to have marines infiltrate the crew of a Yonkou. Nice *Rand Marsh voice*

I wonder why the marines wanted Drake to infiltrate the Beast Pirates specifically? Perhaps they were aware that Kaido is getting ready to start a war and they wanted Drake to help them make counter measures?

Well, I'm not sure it had to be Kaidou's crew specifically. I just think he was the easiest. In the case of BM it would have meant marrying into her family, which complicates things. Shanks then is an enigma. Strong, intelligent, clever and it's absolutely unclear what his game is. You can wonder if it's even worth infiltrating his crew?

Kaidou on the other hand proclaimed himself that he's always on the lookout for strong new members. It doesn't matter if you tried to fight him, kill him, undermined him for years in the past...as long as you are strong and promise to serve him loyally. Additionally the fact that he rules Wano might have been an additional factor. Drake was highly surprised to see CP0 making secret deals with Orochi, which shows how strong of an asset Wano is.

And why it had to be Drake? Maybe because on one hand he owes the Marines quite a bit as they were the ones who saved him from the Barrel Pirates, which provides a guarantee for his loyalty. On the other hand he lived among those same pirates for quite a while. This might just be me trying to make all of this fit the story after the facts, but once you know that Drake was a spy all along and you review everything that is known about him, it just makes a lot of sense.

That was like 2 months worth of chapter all rolled into one. Oda dropping all the bombshells he's been saving up during the Wano arc.

I have no clue where this is headed, the world will be in turmoil with all these events going on.

Crocodile was name dropped again, hope he shows up soon. I need him back after Oda teased him reading the newspaper in the new world during the Punk Hazard arc I think.

HOLY MOLY INSANE CHAPTER!!

- Oda always makes a point to show us when things take place in the past – like the Morgans sequence. The whole Garp conversations, as well as the reactions, and as well as the news, are all happening in the same day Drake is talking to Koby and the marines are attacking the shichibukai.

- This is extremely important – the incident Garp was talking about IS the incident that the Government failed to cover up, as it is stated later right before we switch scenes to Kamabakka Kingdom.

- Let’s rewind; Morgans talks about 3 incidents; a death, the results of the Reverie, and an attempted murder. Garp clearly refers as one – or maybe even two – of the incident as happening after the Reverie ended and as they were leaving on their ships.

The shocking news has nothing to do with Sabo’s death. There is no Sabo’s death on the paper.

- If you reread the reactions at Kamabakka, none of the characters involved is concerned about his safety, rather they are concerned about WHATEVER ACTIONS HE TOOK ON MARIE GIOISE.

- Another extremely important point; the WG failed to cover up the incident. And, as Pedro already told us before WCI started, the Marines and WG would never miss the chance to write that news. So why would they want to change it? Because apparently that’s the news they want to cover up.

- So; there’s a death. This death is most likely related to Cobra who, as we know, had a long time coming it.
- But there’s also an assassination attempt. That is most likely Vivi, as Im wanted her dead.
- And this is where, I believe, Sabo is connected; there’s a good chance Sabo actually realised the risk she was under and actually saved her and took her to safety. Which also means, to the eye of the public, that the Revolutionary Chief of Staff kidnapped a princess after a king was shot dead. We don’t know whether, on the news, Sabo was implied to have been Cobra’s murderer, however, I find this more likely than the whole “Sabo is dead” news, which makes close to no sense. Also, Oda would have no necessity to hide the fact that the incident Morgans was talking about was the attack of the Revs and the clash against the Admirals, as we already know that happened and the same goes for the rest of the world. Also, there is no time jump between scenes, except for the Morgans one.

- I reckon Sabo and that aren't dead. I believe IM or the Goresei went after Vivi or King Cobra and the revs intervened. Something grave happened like Vivi or Cobra dieing. Later on the revs get defeated and now the World Goverment want Morgans to portray the Revs as the bad guys and cover up their Master IM's orders.

- As for what Blackbeard is after:
1) it could also be that Sabo was captured and is the suspect of Cobra's murder (I'm 100% sure Cobra's dead), and maybe that's what Blackbeard is going after. We know he wanted the Mera Mera as he sent Burgess after it, so maybe he is going to intercept the convoy that is taking Sabo to Impel Down to get "it", the Mera Mera.
2) Ponogliph in Arabasta possibly being revealed and somehow leaked, "that" could be referring to the Poneglyph which details the location of .
- Current & Potential SWORD members: X-drake, Coby, Aokiji (mission to infiltrate BB pirates), Smoker, Fujitora and Greenbull.

- It feels so weird that the warlord system actually got dismantled. Can't wait to see what each of them do!?

PS - The corrections for the last chapter is insane. Franky meant 100,000 not 10,000. Where the fks the alliance getting that many peeps from?

I know im everywhere but this chapter was crazzzzzzzzzyy loco man

I never thought I would ever come to the conclusion that Coby and X-Drake are two highly similar characters.

Ever since Coby was little he dreamt of becoming a Marine. When Oda drew Drake as a kid, he was dressed like a marine. Considering his father was a marine, it's very likely he likewise dreamt of becoming one.

However, both of them got dragged into an abusive pirate crew that used them as their slave. Eventually both of them got saved by another pirate crew (Strawhat & Donquixote Pirates respectively) and ended up being recruited by the Marines. Consequently they were able to follow a career path that led them to becoming Rear Admiral and a member of the Secret Special SWORD-Unit.

Neither of them favor the Absolute Justice-dogma and have shown criticizing the Marines. They don't automatically consider pirates as being inherently evil and Marines good; they are more nuanced.

Also they both have an X-shaped scar on their faces :p

It was fucking awesome and i predict sabo has been captured not killed, and blackbeard is gonna go to the prison, resulting in sabo actual death and doffys escape.. Or he will be chasing a fruit that hasnt left sabo yet cause he believed the news paper.

I believe the first will happen

I'm willing to bet either:

1. Vivi was kidnapped for Im's purposes, and her disappearance is being covered up by a false story of her death

2. Vivi was kidnapped and Cobra was actually killed trying to stop it

Either way, they're framing Sabo and the Revs for it and have Sabo captured.

I agree they're trying to frame sabo because why no mention of the other revs who were there with him? Only concern is about sabo.

The only hitch I see is Morgan's didnt do the cover up but we still apparently got some big news involving sabo so the oder margins refused probably wasn't a cover up saying sabo did it.
