Thaaanks! I usually focus on making signatures. Avatars is not my forté.
I will try not to sharpen the F*ck out my avatars next time!

I'm not sure what you mean by "that glow".

There are quite a few things I don't like about them overall, which to sum it up would be:
  • The excessive glow on some of them.
  • The excessive sharpening on some of them.
  • The inconsistent blur on a few of them.
Now to explain each of those in a more coherent manner that makes it look like I am less of a pompous ass and more like a person with an opinion;

This is most apparent on avatar (from left to right) 1, 2, 3 and 5. The glow is so intense that it blows out a lot of details around where the originating point is, and in the case of (especially) the first avatar, it ruins the focal point by diverting focus to the side as well as the middle (eyes of the character). In the other avatars I mentioned the glow is also blowing out details that should be there and as a result it looks low quality and unpolished.
This was mentioned by Hei as well, and what they said is what I will repeat. Too much focus will draw down the smoothness of lines and cause the overall results to look very low quality. It will also (because of how sharpening works) result in details being lost. A way to get around this while still using heavy sharpening (won't work on all images mind you) is something akin to a reverse High Pass filter. Though in this case I think you would be better off just lowering the amount of sharpening as it takes away from the quality and focal.
When you use blur you should be doing it to divert focus to the foreground or background. This creates an illusion of "depth" much like making the background darker or lighter compared to the foreground. "Blurred" and "Sharp" are contrasts to each other just like "Black" and "White" or "Heavy" and "Light" are. Fail to use these contrasts effectively and it will have the opposite result and make the image look "flat". We usually think of images as a "set of spaces" unless it specifically is meant to be 2D, in which case contrasts aren't use to create depth but focus. This issue is most apparent in avatar 2, 4, 6.

In avatar 2 for example, the character is suppose to be in focus while the background is suppose to be blurred. Yet the character is partly blurred, making it hard for the eye of a person to (immediately) understand what is what. This is also the problem with the other two, especially avatar 4 where the background is blurred. If you look at the character's hand that is holding the fan, you will notice how her hand isn't blurred, but her forearm is, which doesn't make sense in regards to how camera's focus nor our eyes focus.
