doffy cant turn into string so its not the same
Lol he doesn't need to he can just create a clone with string. Also I beg to differ about not being able to turn into string. At some level his body must be string similar to luffy rubber. How else would he have gotten string to his internal organs so quickly when law busted them. He also didn't repair them (referring to the organs) but more so made new ones out of stitching the old ones together. So yeah I honestly think he does have string inside of him and to a certain degree he may be made of string. Not to the point of a logia but more so like luffy where his body is made up of or take the properties of the fruit.

Dogtooth and Luffy's fruits don't seem to follow the rules of paramecia as both of their bodies are the "substance" for lack of better word. Doffy and most paramecia, Mr. 3 coming to mind, produce a substance from their body but their body as you said is not that substance. Luffy and seemingly Dogtooth as well, their bodies are the substance, Luffy IS rubber down to his organs. Dogtooth's body can morph and mold and conceal giant tridents.

They also don't really work as a logia either as neither had that intangibility factor Dogtooth was just able to morph his body to avoid attacks and neither are elements.

I wouldn't be super surprised if some time later we learn of a 4th fruit style or as you said levels of awakening. I wonder if there's a group of special paramecia fruits like the mythical zoans and these two are in that group?

Luffy's the only paramecia user shown or explained to e his substance though. Mr. 3's not clay, foxy's not slowness, Bellamy's not a spring, Daz isn't a blade the latter just produce the substance on parts of their body as needed. If you hit Bellamy whre he's not a spring without haki it affects him normal but no matter where you hit Luffy if you don't use haki it won't affect him because his body is always rubber where as Bellamy's isn't.

That's not true (regarding if you use haki to hit puffy it won't effect him) if that was the case then part one wouldn't exist. Hell when he got one shotted by kaido (it didn't seem like kaido used gaki) wouldn't exist either. Along damaged luffy without haki by using his jaws. In whole cake island sanji damaged luffy without using haki as well..
I usually agree with you on everything but this statement specifically (not the whole thing) i dont.

I think you misread that, I didn't say 'if you use haki to hit luffy it won't effect him' I said the opposite, if you hit him(I should have added bluntly that's on me) without haki he is not effected. You need to pierce or cut him because his body is always rubber 24/7 where the other paramecia are not.

IIrc Luffy didn't take blunt force damage in part 1 if haki wasn't involved (excluding Nami and Garp who probably was using haki)

WCI Sanji had haki at that point. Also for whatever reason crew mates have been shown to be able to damage Luffy, like Nami even though she doesn't have haki.

The main point I was trying to make though was that Luffy's body is constantly in a state of rubber where almost all other, if not all other, paramecia don't share that trait.
