Soren's Rest

Resting place of Soren the Vindicator, a legendary giant that warded off the first Hangurian colonial invasion of Tobusekai 400 years ago. The legend of the giant Soren is one seeped in sorrow and sacrifice; one of the last giants of his kind, the towering behemoth struggled to ward off the invaders for days, single handedly defeating a Hangurian army of Black Ones and infantry that is said to have numbered over 15,000. In the process of the battle Soren lost his life and was buried here, although his remains have mysteriously gone missing. The once peaceful beach is now part of the Aeonian Swamp. The specter of death still lingers as the tainted Kaizoku waters brush up against its shoreline.

After a short voyage north of the Siren’s Lair – the team of Mirabelle and her Queensguard had finally arrived towards the location. It was rather the same as the beaches of her home admiringly. She would however waste no time, making the needed hand seals and converting the ground into several houses all across the harder surfaced area. This will be the base camp of the operation, to which one of the members of the Queensguard took out a large flag with the emblem of the Ganmi Clan mixed with the one of Tanigakure. And with this, we claim Soren’s Rest as our property. I want all of you to check the area and try to scout out any potential inhabitants. If they do not comply, you know what to do. she said. She left to her own private quarters – tapping her hand on the stone. She wasn’t about to get out down by one, especially not any western borns. She will raise hell if needed, all for the sake of protecting her kin.

She would switch her clothing into something more comforting as she stepped back outside, watching into the blue waters. She noticed Dokuga in the distance, gesturing to him to come to her.

The group went ahead to scout multiple areas around. Dokuga took his own divergent path and scouted that area along with his roadrunner companions. Upon returning from the area he had scouted he notices Mirabelle gesturing from afar for him to come to her. So he does. Is something the matter, Lady Mirabelle?

Noting the arrival of Dokuga on his bird, she couldn’t help but laugh at how silly it was. His companion was possibly strong as ever but it’s still quite silly admittingly. "Haha, nothing really in all honesty. It’s just…sometimes when I go into town – I randomly pick someone almost all the time and just ask them, what are their goals in life." she paused for a moment, looking at her clanmate. She took out a small map from her pouch, marking this area of after capture but as she did; she continued to speak." I called you to ask the same thing. What exactly are you fighting for? Simply because I askd you to? It’s weird for a queen to be so concerned with such trivial things, but it’s why many of my ancestors failed to realize. I have a position power; however I will never let it get to my head that I am above anyone else. I have my flaws and weaknesses too. Please, despite your power and evident skill as a ninja, who exactly is Dokuga Ganmi." she finished.

He briefly smiled with closed eyes during the pause and then observed as she marked the area on the map, not really sure of what she was onto or what she meant. But then she further explained... Those were some unexpected questions. Although Dokuga's face expression didn't seem taken aback from them "hmm..." , he did keep silent for a bit as he dismounted. Siren's Lair surely is the village I call home, but I do not find myself having a strong feeling of patriotism - so to speak -. It is more about the bonds I've built with people in the village. And I am quite fond of research and developing strange ninjutsu. So you could say I am a friend, but also a researcher who might take things a bit too far. Looking away, he chuckles off the second part before looking again at Mirabelle. I mainly fight for those two reasons. My path in life hasn't been carved as much as yours, Lady Mirabelle. You care for your people, which is something I respect and therefore choose to follow you. Who knows? Perhaps I discover a concrete goal in life along the way.

Lamenting on her subordinate’s word – she couldn’t help but smile. Regardless, as long as you know where your loyalty belongs – you may carry on as you see fit. Just don’t let me here about some of our kingdom’s folks going missing…else we are going to have a problem. she said in a half serious tone. The other Paladars made their returns with supplies such as water and foods from the forestry. She laid out a map, wondering where they shall head next. We’ll be heading more north east, towards the Blood Fields. We leave at dawn! she said dismissing her team. She went to her private quarters to call it a day.

Coming from here.

As Kiriyuin arrived at Sorens rest, she saw a strange flag flying above a few local shrines, something from an old book that she have a vague familiar sign of.

Hmmm... I recognizse that....

People, I have come to stop the local beast that has been terrorizing your lannds. I will prove to you that Shimogakure will be the village that you should look to. We will protect you and give you peace that you will know. We will claim this lands and ensure youre protection. As our first act, The Korikage of Shimogakure will get rid of the great serpent that hunts your lands.

Throwing a kunai that tore all the Tanigakure flags from the poles, she gave a Shimogakure headband to one of the locals and began to leave the village.

I will return.

Starting village mission with this post.

The elements include:
-Capture the Great Snake (4)

Description:
Within Soren's Rest lays a great beast that has a bounty placed upon it by the local population. It has been plaguing them eating caravans and travellers preventing the local villages from trading supplies while also threatening them as well. As a representative of Shimogakure, go and defeat this great snake, receiving the admiration of the people.

Beeyond the borders of the village, Kiriyuin could see the path the giant snake had taken, which was a wide broken down path of trees and upturned dirt that marked its way as it slithered away from the village. The path, five meters wide gave an indication as to just how big itself the beast was. No wonder the locals had trouble with it if it was that large. This would be a struggle even for ordinary militia, thankfully Kiriyuin was well prepared. Travelling quickly and lightly, it wasnt long before she had found the burrow or den of the creature. The cave was nestled as the base of a cliff not far from the village with many dead carcasses of humans and animal alike strewed around it burrow. Scoping out the site, it looked like there was only one way into the den, with many trees crashed down around its entrance looking like it had come in from different angles.

This has to be its burrow...

Preparing a trap for the beast, she quietly crawled down to either side of its entrance placing the small discs she had created, creating a wall that would sting and disrupt its senses as it came out. Then potentially she could strike and kill it in one swoop making quick end of the beast. She would need to get its attention though, and with a deep breath, activating the first breath, she would form a seal as she exhaled it into the cave, which would focus the wind bullet and cause it to create a huge pressure explosion within the cave. There was a hugely loud screeching and hissing as the ground began to vibrate and shake, as the den began to collapse in on itself. The hissing grew louder as a large Pythonesque creature, a huge constrictor python beyond any normal size began emerging from the den. With a quick press of a button on her wrist, the discs erupted upwards creating a large volt of electricity to surge between the rods that began dancing over the beasts scales. It almost seemed to not really notice the lightning crackling over it, simply slithering out past the gates and towards its only target and prey it could see, Kiriyuin.

There was a moment where the beast and Kiroyuon locked eyes as it all fell into place working out in its brain that thid little human was responsible for its home being destroyed, the pain it was feeling and disrupting its sleep. With a hiss it opened its jaw and launched at Kiroyuin aiming to swallow her whole. Kiriyuin with a Second Breath prepared as she jumped, slamming both fists down on its mouth, aiming to flip over onto its head. The face of the great beast crunched down into the dirt, Kiriyuin thankfully ysing her speed to escape. However the beast itself was fairly quick for its strike, keeping Kiriyuin on her toes. Channeling her lightning chakra she unleashed a series of bolts from her body as she slammed down her foot in a drop kick on its head in a sequence trying to knock it out and paralyze it. While the kick itself seemed to have some effect, the lightning had no effect as the lightning just bounced off its scales.

Must be immune to any loghtning based attacks. Tricky indeed.

The snake in rage flipped its head back recoiling with pain from Kiriyuins kick, throwing her off and into a nearby tree. She barely had time to pick herself up and dust herself off before the great beast once again reared its head aiming to try eat her.

Thankfully at least it seems pretty straightforward...

It was a mistake to underestimste it as the snakes venom was corrosive and as it it launched forward, flecks of it landed on Kiriyuin starting to eat through her clothes. Shocked the momentary lapse allowed the snake to close the distance as it tried to swallow Kiroyuin in its jaws. Catching the jaws in her hands at the last moment Kiriyuon struggled to keep them open from closing down and making her this snakes dessert. Struggling to hold it open, Kiroyuon could feel hwr arms starting to give out, feeling what felt like an hour of holding it open. She needed a plan.

It came to her like a spark of imagination, but would require precise timing. And a whole lot of luck.

Taking a breath once more, Kiriyuin calmed herself and relaxed her arms, allowing herself to become swallowed inti the snakes mouth. There was a brief moment before the snake swallowed, where Kiroyuin gathered chakra around her body and then executed her titan form jutsu. Her body grew and expanded into a huge form of herself, breaking the snakes head and jaw apart instantly killing it.
She was covered in snake guts and blood, disgusting to be sure, but still better than being snake food and digested. A tough beast, no wonder the locals wanted it gone.

This post marks the start ot a mission including the following storyboard elements:

-Interrogate locals about Tiamat and locations. (4)
-Prevent the spread of infection any way you can. (5)

Summary:
Returning to the village, Kiriyuin recognizes a symbol in the village shrine that belongs to Kiriyuin. Learning of the infections, she works with Hades to prevent further spread.

As Kiriyuin began heading back to the village, she wondered how the beast had gotten so large, abnormally so even within Tobuseki without any sort of outside influence. It was a ninja summon but simply a rampaging wandering beast. Passing the time thinking about it, Kiriyuin had got back to the village smelling pretty bad, even though she had tried to clean herself up as much as she could. When inside she got into thr village she asked is there was somewhere she could clean herself up. Graciously one of the elders took her to a small bathhouse where she could wash herself up. When passing the square while walking to the bathhouse, she saw a shrine, something of an angel carved out of stone that had wreaths of flowers at its base and a somewhat familiar symbol etched into its base. It was familiar but Kiroyuin couldnt place is, and as she entered the bathhouse, it played on her mind. Where had she seen it before....

Kiriyuin was washing herself, having stripped down and hopping into the bath, with the relaxing hot water and some luxurious berries and soaps the imagine on the shrine still playing on her. Was iy an angel symbol? No it was something different... Why did it feel ominous like it was a bad symbol. It was then when it hit her, an ancient book she had read, when her grandmother had been kage. The symbol of Tiamat, Mother, Progenitor.

Kiroyuin stood up almost immediate as it hit her and realized the statue was of Tiamat, and then suddenly confused why they would have a shrine of her, as if they worship her. Jumping out the bath and throwing her clothes on, Kiriyuon rushed out wanting some answers from these people about why they worshiped a devil god that almost destroyed the world.

Hades has senses that the world felt off, changing coarse suddenly was more instinct than anything, and he was right to do so. With his rinnegan active, the world seemed wrong, but at the same time, it felt as if something far worse was happened. However, Hades felt as if he would soon get answers, as he noticed a familiar chakra signature in the distance. Walking towards the chakra, his eyes did not receive him, as the new page of shimogakure, kiriyuin, seemed to be here as well. It was strange, the newest Kage being so far from the village, which needed protection, a mission Hades was doing without being apart of the village. Walking towards Kiriyuin, Hades spoke.

You appear to be quite far from the best, little bird. What are you doing so far away from the village, Kiriyuin? You where one of the last people I expected to come across in this barren wasteland.

Hades tone was almost that of a disappointed parent, but he was genuinely curious as to what she would be doing this far from the safety of the village.

Hades.... youre one to talk about least expected. I had come seeking a bounty in these lands but I find myself curious about why the village seems to worship Tiamat the Calamity, the Mother that nearly destroyed the world.

Kiriyuin had wandered seeking the elder of the village to ask about why they had the statue that was dedicated to Tiamat. She found him shortly after and began to question why they would dedicate a shine to something that would destroy the world, or even as to if they even knew what or who Tiamat was.

Elder, what does this symbol mean? Who is this angel?

Kiriyuin tried to gauge just how much they knew. she wanted to make sure that this wouldnt turn into a hostile village or army should they think she was here to destroy their sacred shrine.

Tis the great Mother, the Progenitor and the Creation of all Life, Tiamat. We worship her to avoid her wrath, to be devoted subjects of her children.

Kiriyuin couldnt believe what she was hearing, the fact that they knew Tiamat and they genuinely worshiped her. This would be a scary place should they find out that Kiriyuins Grandmother was one of the valient fighters that stood against her.

Tell me more about this Tiamat. I have heard the name but barely know anything about her...

She tried to play it off as a simple indulgence of curiosity, wondering more about the shrine and subject. Reality, she needed to know more if there were more of these villages, secret clans and peoples who worship the Mother.

She is the creator of life, Tiamat is the very essence of primordial life. Something such as a personality cannot be gleaned from her. Her initial purpose in life was to birth, raise, and love her children; the gods. She existed for no reason other than to foster life itself. In the moment of betrayal by her sons and daughters, she became set against them. The hubris of the gods led them down a path of separation.

The Elder began to spout on about how Tiamat was betrayed by her children by creating humans, and began to erase them. Eventually he explained they they worship her with devotion in order to prove their loyalty to her, to provide honor among children in the hopes of being spared from her cleansing.

This is all very interesting, has she provided any signs or anything that she has allowed you to live?

The Elder went quiet.

Hades listened to Kiriyuin, but she failed to answer his question about keeping the village safe. He decided to let it slide, as now she was here with him, and even though he was a shimogakure defect, there wasn't a being on this island that would lay their hands on the Kage of shimogakure. As she spoke, Hades responded.

I had one last thing to set in place before the plan Magnus set in motion was to finish. I am doing my part, even though it may not be directly, to keep shimo safe. But this tiamat, her name rings a bell

Hades followed Kiriyuin, as she spoke to the elder, he seemed off. As if he was a talking corpse, no real emotion or life in his voice, as if a parasite was controlling his brain and going through a pre written script. Kiriyuin was doing well to try and be as aloof as possible, but Hades did not believe in round about methods, and decided to try garner a reaction from the priest.

Ah, now I remember tiamat. The being that wiped out the hokobu ocean. Before my slumber I had considered going there to help kill her, a true menace to us she was, but I was stricken by my condition and had to go into a slumber. I am now regretting not having my chance to cleave a piece of her myself

Hades watched, intently, watching every muscle twitch, waiting to see what the priest would do

The Elder priest seemed to look towards Hades with a blank look, no real expression as he mentioned his threats towards her. There was a pause, tension grew in the room Kiriyuin turned her head towards Hades. Always the straightforward one, never any subtlety.

The Priest opened mouth slowly.

Our baker spoke similarly to you, wishing how Tiamat would leave us alone, cursing her for leaving us with the sin of flesh. He spoke of damning her despite the fact no living mortal could touch a Goddess such as Her. She ended up using his own words against him cursing him with agony.

Well, at least they got some information from the straightforwardness. There was some affliction that was going around, word had spread through the world of an uncurable virus. Perhaps there was a link to Tiamat and the Sea of Life.

Can we see this man? We wish to see for our own eyes the work of Mother.

Kiriyuin knew that Hades wouldn't be believing any of her facade, but she would always be safe than sorry, and even in these lands she would make sure to watch her own back. The news of this virus coincidentally coming to life at the same time as more rumours of Tiamats children couldnt be a coincidence. They needed to see if there was a link and prevent it at all costs.

As they walked over to the healers hut, the Elder waited outside, explaining that he would never go in the presence of a Heathen again, risk being contaminated by Mothers Wrath. With a puzzled expression, Kiriyuin and Hades entered the hutt, to be greeted by a small elderly woman, the local healer. The healer stopped them from entering the back room before speaking.

Asking about the man she explained,
He came down with a fever a few days ago, before it developed into this serious condition. He speaks in tongues about things I do not know, and is in a weakened state. Several other that have been around him have started saying they feel a fever coming on too. I suggest you go lest you catch it too. It is too late for me.

Leaving the hutt almost immediately, Kiriyuin and Hades spoke privately.

I dont like this Hades. Too many coincidences line up here, as Im sure you're aware of all the rumours flying around the world right now. An uncurable virus manifesting and spreading quicker than ever before? whispers of Tiamat and Children circulating? Im unsure if there is a cult trying to revive her or is she survived, but we need to prevent this virus from spreading as much as we can, and before you ask, we will find an alternative to killing these people. Tiamat uses the dead for her forces. I dont want to risk giving her more of an army if we can help it.

Hades followed kiriyuins lead, her blunt look saying all it needed to, but the priest barely reacted. Heading towards the hut and seeing the man, Hades fixated his doujutsu in the man. Chakra wise, there was something there, something small, he couldn't make it out, but with his knowledge of senjutsu and healing Ninjutsu, he was unable to decern what it was, but it was highly infectious, that much he could tell. Leaving the hut, Kiriyuin began speaking about containment and not killing, but Hades had a counter argument to that.

I regret not killing that God when I had the chance. However, about tiamat using the dead as he slaves, she cannot control dust, I can very easily burn this village to the ground with my amaterasu, the seven day black flames will make sure everything here is thoroughly reduced to nothing. If you don't wish that, I could contain the village with my wood release, and put the entire village to sleep with my wood release pollens, that way we can investigate to our hearts content, however, I will need to put some precautions in place for you as these toxins will also put you into a deep slumber. The choice is yours, however.

Kiriyuin had the utmost respect for Hades, his strength and power were incredible and almost unmatched. She knew they even her Grandmother would have a hard time fighting him. Thinking about it she agreed to have him use his wood release and pollen to send them to a slumber. The advantage of this tactic would be that anyone who would come into contact with this village would also fall to a slumber preventing this virus from spreading further.

Thats probably for the best Hades, if you can use your pollens around this village, ir will completely neutralize anyone who comes into this village. Ill send some fireflies to nneighbouring villages warning them not to come into contact with this village, and that it is now off limits.

Kiriyuin didnt have much in the way of widespread crowd control, being much more of a singular focus, so she was thankful that Hades had his Pollen to help reduce the impact of the virus. And with a few seals she summoned up a swarm of fireflies telling to spread out and find nearby villages to warn them. Leaving the village heading to the border she let Hades know.

Let me know when youre done, Ill meet you on the Border to the South.

It seemed Kiriyuin was on the same page, even though Hades would much prefere to burn the villagers to ash for safety sake, isolating them would also suffice. They would not be able to get through his wood release, as Hades didn't sense a single person with chakra reserves that would even constitute a ninja, which made this all the more easy. Walking to the outside of the village, Hades turned his head to Kiriyuin to speak.

This shouldn't take but a moment.

Turning his attention to the job at hand, Hades clapped his hands, before thrusting them forwards and channeling his wood chakra into the ground all around him. From behind him, a huge dense woodland forest would emerge, rushing along the sides of the town, meeting up with each other on the other side, linking up, before growing upwards, treating a huge woodland wall. From there, the flowers that had bloomed began excreting a yellow pollen, as the screams of the villagers who saw the forest emerge slowly began to quieten. The pollen quickly put the entire town into a deep sleep, which they would stay in until Hades saw fit. Turning to Kiriyuin, Hades spoke.

Now, do you have means to protect yourself from this pollen? I'd very much like to head inside and get some real information from that priest. With the villagers unconscious, I can merely force her to speak with my Sharingan, if thats ok?

Kiriyuin watched in awe at the sheer volume of the forest that grew before her, the enough amount of chakra enhanced by senjutsu that would create a maze thicket surrounding the village. Truely a sight to behild. The advantage being that this would give the village secrecy and prevent anyone from finding it, while they investigated this Virus.

As Hades questioned her constitution, Kiriyuin nodded as she walked into the pollen filled air, the effects setting in as soon as she took her first breath. Focusing her chakra through her body, she closed her eyes a moment to allow the poison restistance to build, preventing her from falling asleep. Although the pollen would continue to fall like golden snow, they wouldnt be effected while inside.

Im good, but lets make this quick. I dont think even I could last long in this Pollen.

As they entered back inside the village, sure enough, everyone had been knocked unconscious by the pollen, giving them free access to the village without any disturbance and hindrance. Focusing first on the Elders own house, she began to wander off to his place.

Im going to look through the Elders house, then the patients.

As she said, that, she would wander off walking to where the Elders house was pointed out before on her arrival. Entering she found a modest home, among many standards but still certainly more elegant and stylish than the rest of the village. As she rifled through his furniture she found a small medallion that contained the same etched symbol as the one on the shrine. Curious, so they even carry them around with them. Some kind of cult? There was no one else in the village that was as devoted, potentially some kind of secular thing?

Searching further through the house, she found traces of what looked like drawings, or even just sketches of Mother, Tiamat around his study. Certainly he was mad about her, determined to prove his appraisal.

As she left, there was something that was bugging her. This virus was found all over the world, so the Elder wouldn't have the ability to create or spread the virus that fast, thus eliminating him as the possible cause of this. Although her probably wasnt entirely innocent either.

As she walked through the village to the other house of patient zero in the village, she noticed something peculiar straight away. Well specifically two things. One, he loved to collect artefacts, more specifically it looked like items from all over the world. Certainly a man well travelled who liked to explore around the world. She recognised items from Land of Waves, Land of Fire The Earth Badlands and even tokens from her own homelands. He had been around that far? The second thing was his photos, rather, there were a lot of photos of him with a woman, perhaps a wife? The relationship in the Photos looked intimate but there was something strange about her. The way she dressed in ceremonial robes. Picking up their wedding photo, was when Kiriyuin saw it. The same medallion that the Elder had in his house. The same? Something was off here.

Iryo Ninjutsu: Doku Teikouryoku ) - Medical Technique: Poison Resistance
Type: Supplementary
Rank: N/A
Range: N/A
Chakra: ( 40 per turn )
Damage: N/A
Description: The user will raise his resistance enabling him to stop the progression of a poison, toxin or venom he might have been contaminated with after feeling its first effects. This will not cure the poisoning but rather stop its progression so the user can continue to fight, hopefully winning the fight, to then be able to treat the poisoning. This is a skill that only consumes a move when activated, passively draining chakra, focus and stamina from the user as each turn passes.

Hades watched as Kiriyuin prepared her body for the sleeping pollen. She seemed to have some mild resistance, but looking at her body through his Sharingan, he knew she wouldn't last more than 10 minutes, if that. Hades had no issues with carrying the young Kage out if the village if she did succumb, but he would rather she not. As Kiriyuin went off to the elders house to investigate, Hades had other plans. Looking through the village, Hades locked into the priests chakra and began to walk over to the. Hades eyes never let him down, as he found the priest face down out like a light. Grabbing the priest by the cloths, Hades began to drag the body over to where Kiriyuin was. Hades had no intention of directly touching these people, and made sure to only lay hands on their clothing just in case. As Kiriyuin stepped out, Hades let go of the priest, leaving the propped up against the side of the house. With his Sharingan active, Hades bypassed the need of touch, as he cast a genjutsu on the priest, making her psudo wake up, her eyes glassy and dazed, as Hades spoke.

Well now, shall we get some real information, hmm? Priest, you will answer every question this women asks you with utmost honesty, ok?

Glassy eyed the priest nodded weakly, as Hades motioned Kiriyuin to speak while he kept the genjutsu in place.
