Giant’s Lance

Many of the spires of the Giant's Lance have been destroyed, ruining centuries of hard work. Staircases carved into the mountainside end in collapsed heaps of gravel, tunnels carved through miles of rock simply stop due to instability caused by the falling shards of the Moon.

Rhaenys was too late as the village itself was in terror, people fleeing and panicking in all directions. As she got closer, it was obvious that one person was the source of all this terror and unusual circumstances across the lands. In the middle of the village cackling and taking in all the fear caused by his appearance, stood Cassander.

Rhaenys took a moment before approaching him to study his form. He seemed to be almost, ethereal, as if he wasn't really there. But despite appearances he was still causing such terror and panic for the whole village. A small child was running and tripped, catching Cassanders attention as the spirit began striding towards the next victim. Rhaenys with her instincts kicking in, threw a kunai aimed right for his throat as she jumped down off the roof, appearing before him between the child and it's predator.

Hmm so this is the cause of all the terror and creepy things going on right now... though I must say, you're not quite what I expected. Something a little more... solid that I could actually beat up would be more preferable.

"Come back here, you runts!" the blue projection of the Argead General hollered authoritatively at the droves of terrified villagers fleeing their homes, his projected voice loud and scary enough to see them speed up the pace. He barely noticed the lone child in front of him, and the kunai that flew harmlessly through his astral form even less so. But the white-haired woman he saw, and his frightening Sharingan eyes shone brilliantly with hunger at the sight. "Hahahaha!" He laughed maniacally at her words. "I cannot be defeated by any means! Your measly attacks will never harm me!" The blue, flaming head stated arrogant, hands on his hips in a confident pose. "I will terrorize these people at my pleasure, unless..." His Sharingan eyes opened wide in anticipation. "If you solve my riddles I will show mercy. What do you say to that!?"

She was interested, a chance to solve a riddle to stop all this terror and fear, it would be almost too good to be true. There must be some kind of trick to it. But she would try regardless.

Very well you foul spirited creature, I will take your test. I will stop you without violence. Then I will stop your master who summoned you!

Cassander laughed again, his booming voice deep and cruel. "Very well, then! Do your best, kunoichi, and prepare to spiral into madness! Use all the means you have and despair! For even divine intervention will not help you solve my riddles!" His astral form sent off a fiery burst of blue energy into the sky, lighting it up with with flickering images of war and slaughter. "Wherever I went, war followed," the General spoke ominously. "You must find the place of which I speak. Go there, and receive what you are due, or fail, and despair!" He laughed again, malicious glee spilling into his voice. "First, a clue." He held up a ghostly finger. "Although its name tastes hot, it rests beneath cool, cascading waters. Of where do I speak?"

Lightning flashed, and thunder rumbled overhead as the dark sky echo'ed with the fury of a storm as the two power houses met. Their very chakra cracking the earth around them, the village getting caught up in the sheer pressure the two presences were producing. Rhaenys could feel that even although he wasn't in a physical form, the might of his chakra was not to be disregarded, if he could still create this much power without a physical body here.

As Cassanders maniacal form spoke, Rhaenys squinted, looking into the flames, undistracted by the soft rain now falling, the hissing of the fire as it fought against the bombardment. Thinking back to her studied of the geography for the world, Rhaenys recounted the time she was forced to memorise all land names. While they were only descriptions with no pictures, she seemed to recall a certain place in the Badlands of Earth on the border of the Land of Fire with a particular spicy name. Perhaps this was the start.

A smile crept towards her mouth, turning to a sneer.

I will find you Cassander, and I will stop you. Then I will stop your masters who summoned you and drive them from this land.

She took a gamble, hoping that she may get some information on his summoners, if only he accidentally revealed it falling into her trap.
Knowing that there was nothing else she could do here, Rhaenys turned on her heel and strode out towards the location.

As he steps into the land, Trunks is cautious in how he approaches the situation. Putting away all unnecessary equipment and belongings, Trunks looks for signs of this supposed monster. Not seeing anything at first, Trunks decides to entertain the idea, for just a while longer, before writing it off as a mere Conqueror's Eve prank and moving about his night.

Cassander turns to the new arrival and laughs cruelly, pointing an almost glowing, blue finger at him. "So another one has arrived!?" He exclaims with mock surprise. "I suppose there are many of you critters! So are you here to surrender yourself to madness?" He asks with a cruel, expectant smirk on his ghostly face.

Before him, just as the rumours said, was a ghostly incarnation of a shinobi, an Uchiha with a progressed Sharingan from the looks of it. Processing both the situation and what the figure says, Trunks understands that he will have to play the game in order to bring order.

My name is Trunks, of the clan Golden Sabbath. I'm here to ascertain what you are doing to these people, and how to make it stop. If madness is what you offer, then allow me to experience it first hand. I'll be your Huckleberry. Trunks says with a half smile creeping across his face, and an unusual amount of hubris in his attitude.

The Argead General chuckles malevolently under his breath before exclaiming "You will experience it first hand indeed! These people are nothing to me, but perhaps you will be a source of amusement for me." His ghostly form pulses with energy, something that is accentuated in the dancing flames that make up his head. "I traveled the Known World, but some places I remember more clearly than others. You must find the place of which I speak. Go there, and receive what you are due, or fail, and despair! Use whatever means at your disposal, forsaken one, for none of them will do you any good! Hahaha!" He laughs cruelly once again, raising his hands into the sky for added effect. "But first," he says, holding up a single digit, "your clue: A frozen spire, a church of sacred knowledge, jealously guarded by those with hearts as hard and heavy as their lands. Of where do I speak?"

I can be very amusing, if that's what you seek. You claim that you care nothing for these people, so if that extends to the ones that summoned you, allow me to suggest this: I'll dance for you, but in return you pass along what you know of them. Gathering himself and turning away, Trunks puts one hand in the air as he departs. I'll see you soon, the land of Iron isn't far away Trunks says in the same cocky tone as before.

This post marks the beginning of my mission using these storyboard elements:
Confront the Astral Cassander and solve a riddle (5*)

Summary: Ryuu has arrived at the location of one of the Cassanders, demanding information...

Coming from here

Finally, Ryuu arrived in the vicinity of his target. Looking around, he noticed that many people were in hiding. No wonder, with this huge giant in the way. He wondered why it had not squashed everyone yet, before realising with his Byakugan that it appeared to have no substance to it.... It was just... here. But Ryuu had not come here to marvel at this man. He communicated telepathically to Oregon, telling him to repeat whatever he said in his mind out loud to the creature.

And so, after Ryuu threw something in the air which was sure to catch the tall ninja's attention, Oregon faced it to speak. He only spoke what Ryuu said in his mind.

Well, well, after much travelling, I have finally found you... I have some questions for you, if you don't mind. To not answer them would be an insult to a person who has travelled so far to see you. Not that you wouldn't; I'm sure you're a reasonable man, right? Anyways, I understand that you are a... um... dead ninja? Sorry, not to offend, but, why are you here exactly? I mean, why are you alive right now again? Who brought you back? Sorry, I just need some answers...

As Oregon spoke Ryuu's words to the creature, it was funny that Ryuu made the facial expressions as if he was the one who was talking. After all, he was talking in his mind. He hoped this Cassander could quickly give him answers so he could be on his way...

The blue, even-more-spectral-than-usual version of Cassander laughed mockingly as the weird barnacle creature approached, and more so after it asked its questions. "Reasonable man? What reasonable man would speak with a barnacle!?" It roared with laughter. "You're but a minion, but even your master would not be able to comprehend my purpose! I'm here to spread madness! Madness I say! Mwuahahaha! Why am I alive? Because of medical science! And necromancy!" The General seemed to consider talking more, but caught himself and showed restraint. "But what would a barnacle know about that!?"

Not as smart as I thought you were, if you truly believe you are talking to a barnacle... Ryuu shook his head in disappointment. Oregon was merely saying the words that came to Ryuu's mind, but he supposed that Cassander would not be knowing that. He thought for a moment. Perhaps you are talking to a barnacle, but how do you know what they are capable of? Oregon also had an indignant expression on at the fact that he was thought of as a lesser being by Cassander. Well anyways, I don't see what purpose madness has... You say we can not comprehend it, but to me, you appear to be acting just like a child. Now please, just give me answers or I shall... He stopped there then, not knowing what threat to make. What could possibly be done against an unreal being? Umm, err, what will happen to you is a surprise yet, but know that it is not anything good. Just give me what I want already!

How would he know what a barnacle was capable of? An absurd question! "Because I'm the Argead General," came the quick reply, followed by a confident, menacing laugh. That was quickly replaced by a serious expression, however, as the flaming skull shot the barnacle a glare at his insult. "You cannot comprehend because you are a barnacle!" The general sneered, and what child would give madness-inducing riddle-.." Cassander thought about it for a second. "Never mind that. You will not get your answer; only a riddle! If that's what you want then good, if not too bad!" The General held up a skeletal finger, aglow with blue energy. "Get to the place I speak of, by any means necessary, or suffer madness!" The skeleton cleared the throat he did not have. "This half-barren place right above the tip is named after a popular secret sauce. Of where do I speak?"

Ryuu sighed internally, deciding there was no point arguing with this creature. Honestly, it seemed that his weird ideals about the barnacles would remain stubbornly fixed in his mind. No point getting heated about this. But just when he thought he was going to feel calm, Cassander denied him the answers he wanted! He felt like lunging at his throat, but of course, remembering that he was not even really here, he decided better of it. Regaining his calm again, Ryuu channeled his thoughts to his barnacle again.

A barren place huh? There are many like that, but perhaps I could find it... Then, Oregon spoke on his own this time, instead of saying Ryuu's thoughts. Pointing at Ryuu, the barnacle proudly and matter-of-factly declared, He will be there; don't underestimate him. Oh, and he will find your clue too. If Cassander wanted to have an attitude, then so would the barnacle.

Holding his chin in thought whilst Oregon talked, Ryuu narrowed down the possibilities, before deciding on the place he thought would be most correct. Even though Cassander did not want to give him answers, perhaps he could find some in the place he had to go to... And so, Ryuu nodded at Cassander once, before walking away with Oregon at his heels. As he went, he noticed another ninja now on the scene. Looked like he wasn't the only one who wanted answers... But Ryuu totally ignored, rushing out of the area as quickly as he could. After Cassander was out of normal sight, Ryuu allowed Oregon to return back home, thanking him before he left.

Coming from here: https://animebase.me/threads/urals-162.756177/post-21859246

Genji finally arrives at the promised land.. it seems someone had made it before and was speaking to the legendary Cassander.... Genji would approach carefully, but he would stand to the side waiting for the man to finish speaking to him..
Having finished speaking to the barnacle, Cassander turned his attention to the new arrival, the blue fire surrounding his bare skull sizzling with energy. "Yet another one!? You ninja must be eager for madness, or perhaps you are already mad! Mwahaha!" The General laughed loudly at his own joke, then fell deathly silent for a moment, mumbling to himself "But if you are already mad then what's the point of-..," the pattern of his Sharingan swirled around their axes, as Cassander quickly gathered his wits. "Anyway, are you here to embrace madness, shinobi!?"

"I guess.. I guess you could say that." Genji would say in a robotic tone, hesitating ever so slightly.. Genji had heard the rumors himself of a ghost, an undead being in Giants Lance.. Oh the knowledge he posssesed, the mysteries of the era, the truths hidden in plain sight. "I wish to gain knowledge to understand the secrets of this world so I may realize my ambition.. if I must be driven to madness... then so be it."
