Alright hit me with an example and i will try taking on 2 moves with one
I thought about writing one, but I'd rather just give a more canon based example. If someone with a Kakuzu bio has one of their hearts outside, and uses two techniques at the same time (from heart and from body), say an Earth technique, and a Wind one, same time frame. How would you counter (normally the two techniques are sent out together to nullify the weakness of one of the elements used, what would that be in this example?)

I would use the technique earth corridor to obstruct the enemy from landing attacks and trapping them, but would follow up by using the Banquet of lightning while the user is trapped in place, attacking from the ground below.

Type: Supplementary
Rank: B
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra: 20
Damage: N/A
Description: The user will first perform the snake hand seal and then cause the earth in the surrounding area to rise up and over a target and create a cavern, imprisoning the target. The user can leave an opening to allow attacks to go in to strike down the trapped adversaries, or close it up completely to prevent escape.

Type: Offensive
Rank: B
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: 20
Damage: 40
Description: The user brings their hands together and an electrical energy will begin to crackle around them. They will then slam their hands to the ground to send an electric current racing through the earth. When the current approaches its target, it can split into multiple tendrils to attack separate targets individually.

You gotta look at the question I asked lol. Nonetheless, the answer is Lightning. Earth is weak to Lightning, so in the example, Wind is used in tandem with the Earth so that the Earth isn't destroyed by a Lightning technique, narrowing down the options to reply. Speaking of what is strong to what, shall we go over how elemental interactions work, and what the issue there is?

I completely read that wrong I thought i was meant to nullify both, I get it so for instance you used the wind to back the earth technique up since the counter to earth is obviously lightning , so for instance if I started with a fire move but followed up with an earth move which is strong against water the likely counter for fire. This will limit their choices as u mentioned earlier however this sort of situation is dangerous if you don’t have the elements to combat this so it could prove to be lethal.

Yes, exactly. Now, sometimes its a bit more complex than even that. This is basic elemental interactions, some combinations focus on getting you into a damn corner, not only forcing you to use certain elements, but even just have very limited options. Like for example, some Fuuinjutsu can seal your chakra to limit to what rank you can use, and this is usually coupled with something strong, making it difficult to counter. These are the keys to pushing your opponent into a corner, and more so, forcing them to either make a rash decision and use something that you already anticipate or cut off their choices to lead them in a way you want it to go. A little bit of manipulation involved in this, both inside the RP and through your wording.

Any questions on time frame still? It can get a bit hectic, but if you feel confident in it, we can move on.

Time frame how do u work out hand seals etc some ppl have no hand seals some moves have a lot of hand seals etc does it mean u can have 2 moves that require no seals in the time frame where you use a similar rank attack but requiring to do hand seal for?

Good question. Hand seals are often times good indicators that a technique is happening, or about to. Problem with no hand seals is that its difficult to discern that an attack may occur. However, just because someone does have hand seals, and another doesn't, does not make them that much faster that they can do a whole extra move before you can.

Passive techniques are the ones that you have to watch out for. Once the words passive; in the same time frame; simultaneously; in conjunction with; at the same time as; etc are used, its often time a technique that can't exist on its own (as in, its an addition) or its been made to work in tandem with another one. Hand seals play a crucial role in closer ranges where three hand seals vs no hand seals could mean the difference between life and death. Obviously, if you were to use 40 hand seals, I'd complete my 3 hand seals before you, logically of course.

So be on the lookout for techniques that happen in the same time frame as others, for clones and summons, as well as Custom Weapons that can do things on their own. Because all of these can let 2 or more techniques happen in the same time frame aka, in the time you do one technique, the opponent can do two.

So distance is also counted like if I initiated a defensive move that required a couple hand signs however the opponent was quite a distance away and used a move without hand seal I would still be able to defend due to distance but if I was very close the difference of no hand seal and hand seal are revealed. Also ranks, are higher ranks slower than lower ranks if they have the same amount of hand seals?

Yes, but its more of a logical reasoning than set numbers to really state "I made 5 hand seals and you were mid range away, now according to this equation..." Normally, 3 hand seals and below is considered quite fast and people could possibly do that in close range still (because of how fast the hand seals are performed in Naruto after all).

As for the second question, no. Normally moving speed and base speed is different, however. I remember someone wanted to add hand seal speed and give it set numbers, but it was never added because it gets kind of technical as in
"You wouldn't pull that off in time cause you have 50 hand seal speed and I was in close range, you need 60, yada yada"

I’m glad it didn’t become a mathematical RP :blur:, but Yh regarding time frames I say I’m about done I would like to know about ninjutsu/Taijutsu etc how they all work together what’s the weaknesses etc

Yeah, I was one of the people against it. It gets annoying lol. Anyway, weaknesses and stuff.

Taijutsu:

As you'd think, Taijutsu is hand-to-hand combat and requires you to get close to the opponent. That in itself, is a weakness. Of course, if you're faster, stronger, more observant, have better reflexes and skill in close range, its an advantage. So Taijutsu is more a double edged sword really. I never took too much liking to it, but rather opted for Genjutsu. As for strengths, you can easily corner your opponent's into a corner with quick, aggressive moves. People who fight like this if you want to see, are LoK, Geets and Loki.

Elements:

Let's first talk about the basic 5.

Wind - weak to Fire (because it feeds it) but strong to Lightning (because it insulates the Lightning).
Lightning - weak to Wind (gets insulated) but strong to Earth (rips through it with ease).
Fire - weak to Water (gets smothered) but strong to Wind (feeds off the Wind).
Water - weak to Earth (can't do much against that sturdiness!) but strong to Fire (smothers it).
Earth - weak to Lightning (gets ripped apart) but strong to Water (because its sturdy U_U).

So that's the basics. From this, what can you tell me is a common theme? It pushes through to most of the advanced elements and skills as well. If you can see the pattern, that is.

It has one element its strong against but one element its weak against is the theme. Its a cycle in the term of the 5 basic elements, for yin and yang they are just opposites. Taijutsu is strong in close combat but terrible in long range, Genjutsu great in long range terrible in close range. However these 2 are quite broad in applications so this might not be always the case. You also have to factor in the elements and outside items etc to these 2 as well.

You are indeed correct, there exists an almost cyclical relationship with most of the elements and skills in the RP, sometimes its a bit weird but its for balance purposes. Nonetheless, shall we go through strengths and weaknesses more, or look at clashes between stuff?

Alright, there's a wonderful thread/guide that exists for it. LoK made sure its understandable for the layman, but give it a read through for me. If there is something there that you need clarification for, just be sure to ask. It was only recently that some of it was changed, but its fairly simple once you get the gist of it.

Indeed, you get
B-Rank: 650 Kumi & 650 Ryo

And yes, not automatically but we will be the ones to add it.
