Tremendous respect for father Coyne after watching this.

His desperation is laughable.Up next: Why water can't
be a replacement for fire.
That it is.Atheism is retarded
I actually agree with what you’re saying here. However creationists and people who reject evolution do it for precisely that reason, I.e they view religion as an alternative to scientific fact. Ive never heard of anyone who opposed the teaching of evolution who wasn’t a creationist.Who looks at the bible for scientific answers?
Hmmm I wonder how the earth was made...lets read the book of moses!
Is that what they teach in elementary school?
People don't believe in religion cus they think it gives them facts of how things work. It's not education. Maybe it's about the meaning of life and questions that don't have answers like what happens when you die.
People who oppose it fall into two camps, the first who do so on reason(intelligent people) and evaluation(logical people) and others(like the nut in the video) based on their interpretation/understanding of scripture. Both can be religious individuals and people who believe in it. They have never viewed religion as a replacement for scientific fact but they don't accept delusional theories touted as fact.I actually agree with what you’re saying here. Father Coyne gave his view which others would differ with.Father Coyne does an amazing job of exposing such people for the idiots that they truly are, especially since he himself is an anointed catholic priest.
Now your claiming science and evolution are the same thing which they're clearly not. Science is a broad term with many fields of study, specializations. Sciences can contain fact and theory(can be reasonable or delusional). The priest gave a general view and his personal opinion. Your using or trying to use a propoganda video made for the purpose of forwarding a specific agenda, to validate a belief you hold. The cognitive dissonance caused when any aspect of science(evolution) is perceived to be in conflict with religious doctrine (genesis creation account) prompts many religious people to criticise the science, thus overstepping the magesterium of religion. That kind of overstepping was what this priest was referring to, and while I don’t agree with his religious beliefs, the guy is spot on with what he’s saying.
It’s a 4 and a half minute video, just watch it .Dude, you could at least write out a TLDW to summarise the point of the vid? Now I'm not saying this out of sheer laziness, but I can't skim read this, and I certainly have no idea where to skip to get to the damn point of the vid.
Who said I was triggered? This is a public forum where every post that is visible is potentially quotable. If I see something which is quotable I can quote it to post about it, if you wanted to talk directly to him you should've VM'd him. I liked one post which dismssed your assertion via a simultude example, perhaps it's purpose was lost on you. Anyway I had to clear up a few issues/fallacies I found your post contained, therefore I was obligated to provide clarity.@ salamander for someone who has a ‘handle on his emotions’ you sure get triggered easily. Responding to comments that weren’t even addressed to you, liking any post that seems to belittle the Op, and yet you think that IM the one doing this for solace? Ok bro .
Can you show me where evolution has been proven to be fact? Can you show me where one animal has been another? It is the most pathetic form pseudo-science that I have ever seen. It is nothing short of a godless religion, like Taoism.I actually agree with what you’re saying here. However creationists and people who reject evolution do it for precisely that reason, I.e they view religion as an alternative to scientific fact. You know there are people here who still argue that the earth is flat...@ salamander for someone who has a ‘handle on his emotions’ you sure get triggered easily. I think people are tied to religion for personal reasons, maybe it's tradition and then when it contradicts science they choose religion instead, I don't think they begin looking for answers in the bible, I think they just care about the bible and so they want it to be true.I actually agree with what you’re saying here. However creationists and people who reject evolution do it for precisely that reason, I.e they view religion as an alternative to scientific fact.
