So I have been here for a while, but I don't post often because I enjoy reading threads. The other day I was doing my usual scroll and I came upon a thread that ended up boruto bashing and I couldn't help but feel like people today treat Boruto like people treated Sakura back in the Naruto manga's heyday, particularly when people started claiming that Boruto Uzumaki is the worst protagonist of any manga ever (clearly they hadnt read SAO [dont @ me]).
I just don't understand how people can still say that Boruto isn't a fully fleshed out character at this point in the series, just like how I didnt think Sakura deserved all the hate back in the day... except it is worse because at least I could understand disliking her for her blind love of Sasuke to a degree. Like Boruto has actually begun a very interesting character arc that is a perfect reflection of the real world's "generation Z" and a fresh look on a very vulnerable, and non-Shonen character who doesnt fall into the same troupes as many protagonists, including Naruto.
His tension with his father isn't unwarranted as it reflects the insecurities and lack of maturity befitting of a 12 year old genin in the "softest" class to graduate from the academy, as well as capturing the fear and pressure that fall on the child of a significant person, especially the son of Narujesus.
Furthermore, Boruto's feelings have been resolved in manga and anime and his will of fire was officially lit after the momoshiki encounter which are both main focuses of his character development. I could go on but I think you guys get the point.
Genuinely asking why the Boruto hate (no bashing)? Do you not recognize Boruto's impressive character arc, or do you just not care? Also, I would like to hear from any Boruto-sympathizers!
