I found the episode tasteful, though its morality dubious; the rather inconsistent presence of shark-boy irked me quite fierce. Lavagirl's hedonistic behavior seemed rather off to me, though I suppose that's what happens when one eats the ho-ho fruit. Overall I rate it a 2.5/5, the half point given due to the extremely large amount of big-eyed-no-nosed characters, and the rather annoying and flippant chortle from the Snigger-er.
lol at the amount of comedy in this chapter though the wait for real action is becoming unbearable. Luffy & Zoro seem too ecstatic to get what they want so soon as well, so I think whatever they do get into will be interrupted or they'll be trapped or something like that. Like I said some chapters ago, Luffy's personality & demeanor seem different.

People shitting their pants around Zoro’s beastly aura
Besides that at least that “Captain King Holdem” theory is shot down. People are really trying to make this king and queen theory a thing.
Bit slow but necessary chapter I guess. Lot of set-up done for the rest of the arc. I wonder if Yokuzuna is going to demand to have Chopper cooked up later. The random moment with the raccoon feels too specific for that. Cutting off the top knot is a great shame for him. I like how the girl didn't need saving by Zoro but was able to handle her own.
I'm wondering where this is headed because there have been a lot of characters introduced who I feel don't play a very big part later on. Mouseman, Batman, Gazelleman.
Where is Law ? I thought he was going to intervene to make sure things wouldn't get noisy. Well that's too late now. I'm not yet feeling the threat of them being in a yonkou controlled area yet.
Chapter felt average, my favourite part of the chapter was seeing Bellamy, the fact that he's learning a trade and living a rather normal life feels pleasing....like it has a calming effect.
I didn't find the whole thing with Holdem funny, and like Love cook said, it feels like we're spending a considerable amount of time on characters that would end up irrelevant soon.
Yeah I kinda agree, but I think it might have to do also with the fact that we've been spending a lot of time in shitty towns, inside huts and houses and wastelands. Whole cake island was probably a joy to draw for Oda and he could go all out and draw everything crazy. Now he's stuck to very traditional Japanese.
That being said some of my favorite panels ever came from this arc, I love this one since Oda almost takes you on a journey on this page. All the panels move very slow to one to the other explaining everything in the scene. Even the music speeds up, so you have that playing in your head and then the slash is super dynamic too, seeing it curl from Zoro's hip to the roof. The shading on Zoro is pretty sick too.

But for every double spread like this there were a lot of mediocre ones so far, I agree. So hopefully we can go back to the nice spots in Wano and other characters. I feel like abominations like Mouseman and Batman also don't help.

@ bold. Now that you mention it... I bet whole cake was probably one of if not his funnest to draw.. And easy work wise . he made Prometheus and big mom look awesome in some panels too. Like when she lands next to the sh ship or when Prometheus burns king bamu or when big mom stretches nepolean
- Bellamy's given up piracy for a life as a craftsman huh? I personally reckon he should've went to Water 7. That way he could still fight off pirates(using his skills and possibly his passion for thrill as he went to become a pirate despite coming from a wealthy village)+ he would be with other people who are allies of Luffy.
- Always nice to see Luffy using his conquerors haki, although in this chapter it was less evident.(The anime will make up for it but)
- Holdems look is strange man. I thought from the cameo we got last week his design was gonna be slightly cool but nope. So far, all the designs oda's coming up with for these character are just ugly. Perhaps this is a mangaka technique to make the stronger beast pirates like calamities appear stronger?
- I learnt something new today. Even though you're a sumo wrestler you can still be a classified as a samurai!!
- In other news, O-kiku is so badass. I've liked her design and her charisma since she was introduced. She looks more like the samurai we got in the cameo we got agesssss ago, when someone mentioned wano country.
- For some reason i reckon Zoro let Okiku get caught on purpose to see her potential as a swordswoman. He does it with Tashiji too, taunts her sometimes.

Is that CC [ Ceasar Clown] initials on his arms? Did CC sneak that attribute into a SMILE devil fruit formula ?
I didn't like nor hate this one we got introduced to more smile types than we had previously ( jacks). i think that he wasn't focusing of them as individuals but he was rather showcasing more of the possibilities that the man made fruit can have.
