We know that Tsukuyomi is able to cause the opponent to perceive 72 hours worth of time in a second. That's why Itachi couldn't have used Tsukuyomi on Sasuke.

Let me explain, Tsukuyomi is a jutsu that repeats the same experiences over and over again. It also has black and white imagery. The repeated experience seems to be necessary because, the alternative is impossible for Itachi, to speed up his perception enough to control everything in a genjutsu with as much time dilation as 72 hours/1 second.

When Sasuke was supposedly put under Tsukuyomi, Itachi was reacting to what Sasuke did. That means Itachi perception was increased by 72 hours/1 second, if he used Tsukuyomi. That's the only way he could react to Sasuke, assuming he used Tsukuyomi. That's why it's impossible for him to have used Tsukuyomi.

How'd you explain Itachi reacting to Kakashi in Tsukuyomi's realm? I think this illusion allows all kinds of hax there's no real "loophole" apart from the lie Itachi himself told to facade it's power. He didnt break out of any illusion Itachi casted how'd he do that when no one praised him for breaking it? Apart from a Zetsu who thought he fought for real. Manga spend more time praising Itachi for letting him win rather than him supposedly "breaking" his illusion it's self explanatory from this part onward.

You misunderstand Tsukuyomi. Its Itachis skill of Genjutsu that allows him to control time perception within Tsukuyomi. Meaning he can control it however he likes. Sasuje was able to fight it because he has a very powerful Sharingan thats similar to Madaras. Sasuke even supressed Narutos kyuubi chakra.

Mind you they had a whole genjutsu battle and didnt even move an inch. Mesning Sasuke was fighting Tsukuyomi from jump

In the manga Itachi didn't react to Kakashi, that was only in the anime he reacted.

According to Itachi himself he controls everything in the realm. This cannot be a lie since this has never been debated by anyone in the series. Controlling everything as you'd like is similar to saying he could willingly react to something at his leisure. There is proof he never used Tsukuyomi though.

He doesn’t HAVE to elongate the time like that though, he controls how long, I think 72 hrs a second is a max personally. Itachi is in complete control of whatever “reality” he’s created for his opponent in tsuki.

Itachi is able to control his opponent's time perception, not his own, he himself is not under Tsukuyomi.

Are you saying he didn't use time dilation vs Sasuke, but did use Tsukuyomi?

Who said he didn’t use time dilation? I don’t even think he has to if he chooses not to. What I’m saying is it doesn’t have to be 72 hrs every second. He used tsuki, he just did it in a way sasuke would break it. Itachis whole point of this fight was for sasuke to beat him and BELIEVE he actually beat him. Why would he not use his signature tech? People let the lying part of itachis character encompass EVERYTHING, including comments made by outside parties in the manga.

He may or may not have used it (It is honestly impossible to know), but what is obvious is that if he did use it, he definitely did not use it anywhere near its full capacity, and we know the entire battle was a fabrication he made up for sasuke to win in every facet.

Sasuke kept up in a shuriken battle we know he should have lost (If Itachi can weave hand signs in the middle of it, and sasuke is greatly surprised by this, then we know Itachis hands are WAY faster, and thus he could have been throwing even faster than he did)

Sasuke kept up in taijutsu, but he had a sword and Itachi had kunai. Plus, we see later against Kabuto that Itachi is decently better at reacting to Kabuto's speed and jutsus, as we see Itachi as the only one even confronting Kabuto at close range, and Itachi repeatedly puts up defense for Sasuke. We also see that Itachi is superior to KM naruto in taijutsu (Somehow) despite KM Naruto being faster than the third Raikage (Or next to it) When we saw Sasuke struggle against fourth Raikage.

Knowing all of this, it is fairly safe to assume Itachi also let Sasuke win the genjutsu battle or at least allow a "stalemate".

Sasuke has been under Tsukuyomi twice before that battle. I’m sure he remembers the feeling vividly, and would notice if he hadn’t been under it, as every person shown to have survived Tsukuyomi has had much to say about the experience. Now whether he actually broke a full powered Tsukuyomi is questionable, but that was the actual jutsu being used.

Itachi doesn't show any surprise from Sasuke breaking his illusions purpotedly. No exclamation marks in his head. Which is usually shown when a character is genuinely surprised. I think that's because he let him out of his illusion.

Nobody noted Tsukuyomi feeling any different than other sharingan genjutsu.

But it could have also been from the fact that he anticipated him being that powerful beforehand. The exclamation marks tend to appear more when someone has lost their composure, which Itachi never did, but Black Zetsu seemed to be convinced Sasuke broke Tsukuyomi. Was it full power is arguable, but it seems evident that even if it wasn’t, Sasuke broke the illusion rather than being released from it. I’d also wager to say it’s a different experience to be released from Genjutsu than to forcibly break it.

From the beginning of the series when it was used on Kakashi, to the multiple uses on Sasuke, everyone effected by it has noted the horror and intensity of it, and the realistic feeling of it. It has always been described as an unmistakable jutsu, to the point where Danzo immediately knew Sasuke was not using it in their battle.

Sasuke has been under Genjutsu before, and has felt Tsukuyomi before. There’s nothing to indicate Itachi using any jutsu but Tsukuyomi, and Sasuke, having a Sharingan and being adept at Genjutsu himself, would have known the difference, especially between a jutsu like Tsukuyomi, and a jutsu like generic Sharingan Genjutsu, which he himself can perform.

Kakashi nor Sasuke said anything about Tsukuyomi feeling different than other genjutsu.

Of course Danzo noticed a difference between Sasuke's genjutsu and Itachi's Tsukuyomi, Sasuke illusion lasted much longer and not much happened by the time it ended.
