The usual shtick for some more niché types of manga.
Does anyone else here read it? Which ones have you enjoyed and have you come across anything new and good?

My personal favorites are most of the works of Junji Ito and shorter more novelesque ones such as Fuan no tane. Can't recommend those enough. Really gives you the heebie-jeebies even more so than horror via other mediums.

I really wish I could remember the name of this one short horror story. It was about some rock wall that had holes in the shape of humans. People eventually started recognizing their own silhouettes, and they were somehow compelled to go into the wall, they couldn't resist it. Then they disappeared, while the ending was quite disturbing, especially if you have claustrophobia.

Then there was also this story about some sort of... fish virus, I think from the same author, though it was kinda comedic.

If you can somehow find the first one from my description, I highly suggest reading it.

They animated this one. Boku no Pico. You wouldn’t think it’s horror until it’s too late. It’s like modica magica magical girls.

The first and second are from the same author i think and were both included in a volume iirc. But man lol.. the fish virus one i thought was disgusting af. Interesting to see you found it funny xD

OT: I'm pretty sure the title of the fish virus horror manga is 'Gyo'. I'm a fan of horror.. but i was pretty disgusted by it so i can't forget the name. You should find the interesting human shaped holes story when you find Gyo.

Also Ibitsu and Uzumaki.

Edit: Just searched and found out the title of the human shaped holes story is: 'The Enigma of Amigara fault'

I would give it to the anime, Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni. As for manga, Jagaaaaaan probably fit to be called horror.
Dude, Jagaaaaaan was so dope. I just read it last weekend and it's gruesome in it's own comedic way. Definitely would recommend.

Ibitsu
Hideout

Anime;

Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni
Both are great! I really liked Hideout's art style and wish there was more like that.

Thank you for contributing! I understand how Boku no Pico might be scary for someone with homophobia!

I’m not gay, but you know traps. lol. I like the 3rd one.
Do I know what now? What's a trap got to do with the context at hand?

Berserk is kind of weird since it has so much action in it, the plot is lengthy and the setting varies a lot. But I see your point, and agree. It is one of the best of it's kind out there
