He's trying to distance the fault from the content of his opinion and pin it on the people who negatively received it. "I will not apologize for dealing with my life experiences in the best way that I can, which is humor...No one can tell me or anyone else who has lived through sexual abuse how to deal with those emotions." If he says that nobody can tell him or anybody else how to deal with emotions rooted in trauma, how does that give him the right to be an insensitive prick, let alone someone to give advice? Surely someone as sage as this would realise that not everyone copes with similar or identical issues in the same way, and that the way he dealt with the issue is not necessarily going to work for a lot of people? And to top it all off, he completely negates his half-assed apology with "It's not the worst thing that's ever going to happen to you.
