People in here are talking like hashirama is shit lmao. Imo hashi is more than just wood. He has shown pretty legit versatility in the short screen time he’s receivd. A short list would be sealing jutsu vast weapon usage the ability to heal instantly and let’s not forgot one hit KO like strength. Which we all know close combat is probably nagato’s only weakness along with being sealed. Not saying hashi would win but some of you make it seem like he doesn’t have a chance lol.

Yea, you've got a point. I've literally never seen someone rooting for Hashirama reference feats. Hashirama's reserves and healing are his real edges in this scenario, but Nagato can scale his own during the battle if he wants to.
Nagato, while unable to use his legs properly, was still fast enough to no-diff both KCM Naruto and Bee at the same time. If Nagato needs to, he can even absorb any wood Hashirama sends towards him to heal(and be honest, Mokuton has been synonymous with vitality, so it's definitely healing Nagato) and gain chakra. Wood also isn't destroying CT as it'd only be adding mass opposed to destroying the core.

I think everyone is forgetting Hashirama can use genjutsu while Nagato has no genjutsu skills, so in that area Hashirama has got an edge.

Hiruzen was the hokage by default making him smart and strong. Nagato is strong by has not feat from breaking out of genjutsu.
What kind of logic is this? Tsunade was also a Hokage yet Nagato shat on her and the village by himself. I'm guessing you think Hiruzen is smarter and stronger than Nagato? Nagato mastered Yin Release at age of 10 (fundamentals of Genjutsu) according to Jiraiya, used Genjutsu traps on his Amegakure goons and countered the strongest Sound Genjutsu in the series through his 6 Paths of Pain.
Bringer of Darkness does nothing but attacks the eyesight, which Hiruzen countered by his sense of smell. Nagato is arguably the best sensor in the manga, therefore counters it too.
There is a reason why Hashirama no longer used this part 1 Genjutsu in Shippuden.

Nagato nearly died trying to CT a 50%(Size/Strength) kyuubi and it's manga confirmed he requires concentration to use the technique:
With this said I would like to point out that this is the size of SS in comparison to 100% Kurama and Nagato's CT
Meaning: Nagato would need 0 distractions and full concentration to be capable of creating a CT strong enough to break down SS. Further more since SS is so massive (Including the hands) it makes it much more difficult to pull as it's:
Heavy (Clearly)
Dense (Punched through susanoo)
And incredibly strong (Over powered susanoo AND 100% kyuubi)
I'm convinced Hashirama wouldn't even have to counter CT. He could let Nagato die trying to pull it in.
BUT! if he does decide to counter it he can simply use:
Which will:
1) Definitely break Nagato's concentration
2) Pulverize Nagato
Either way CT will be cancelled lol

This is completely wrong.
1. Tailed beast > more chakra than Jinchuuriki because the tailed beast can only shelve a limited amount of chakra to keep the link between the Host and the beast. The chakra they recieve is limited while a wild biju doesn't need to knead up chakra for its host

I know this section has the hots for Hashirama but don't be foolish enough to compare a human beings chakra to a whole beast.
It takes 3 days to absorb a whole beast with the Gedo mazo while a human being is just in one touch.
A biju is just pure dense chakra that has become sentient, Human beings are not and can never come close to that amount including Hashirama. All individual Tailed Beast Chakra > Hashirama's chakra you can't compare. Tailed beast have unlimited chakra, they only recharge when they are sharing their chakra to a host. If you paid attention to the war at all you would've noticed that Bee and Naruto fought for two days straight using tailed beast chakra while people like Madara and Hashirama can only fight for one day.

Emaciated Nagato couldnt accomplish full CT cause of Gedo weakening. Nagato stated he can trap Kyuubi 50% by making it bigger.
- Size is highly controversial considering it's never consistent.
- Size doesnt matter Nagato can fly at Madara in his bird and invisible.
- Hashirama not sensing the invisible would get a ST right in his proximity which would trip him out SS/use Ashura path to chop through him with lethal blades.
- He always can fly out of range SS is a short-mid technique wont reach Nagato whereas latter can pull vice versa spamming CT and ST on Hashirama.
- Bansho Tenin with bird could pull Rama into Ningendo onslaught and extract his life-force out.
- You should not forget he can use all jutsu ****ing simultaneously........There will be no fucking interval for Hashirama to pull anything against former.
