Sasuke. Sasuke had been Kage tier since the start of Shippuden. Naruto around the summit arc was Kage class too, arguably before. Gaara's strong, but not stronger than either of those two at any point in SHippuden. Sauce, mid-diff

I feel that Gaara is ore than equip to handle Sasuke here.

I do too it just comes down to a matter of contrition. I say high difficulty for Sasuke because getting around Gaara’s Absolute Defense will be challenging, but Sasuke did it once during the Chunin exams and they are both stronger than when they last fought. Sasuke’s Susanoo plays the key to breaking it.

likewise we know Gaara’s sand is fast enough and potent enough to block Amateratsu. So points there for Gaara. Not sure if his sand is strong enough to seal Sasuke’s Susanoo though.

I can see Sasuke loosing if the battle drags on and he starts to go blind though. It honestly could go either way but Sasuke has the elemental advantage over earth so that’s mainly what tips him over in favor of winning for me.

Chicories, chidori senbon, Chidori Nagasi, these would all be highly effective (and possibly neutralize) Gaara’s Sand.

Of course Sasuke doesn’t have complete Susanoo (no legs) so Gaara could just pull him out like he did Madara. Really tough call for me.

It could induce chakra into his body to break it.



Tho it's a flimsy possibility considering Danzo a veteran with Hashi cells couldnt realize he was in one.

Amaterasu is a short range technique (0-5m) as per DB and its probably why Sasuke used Enton against Gaara in that exchange. After 5m, Amaterasu doesn't spawn but travel and i don't think it would be as fast as the Enton Sasuke used. With intel, Gaara doesn't allow Sasuke get close.. Same applies to Genjutsu (all of Sasuke's is short range)

Only if Gaara can block Amaterasu before it touches his face.


Not only that, if Gaara surrounds himself with Sand armour from beginning, Amaterasu finishes him by burning continuously for 7 days without being extinguished.

Third Eye's powers may not be enough to see through genjutsu nor would Mother Sand be; because Danzo had Hashirama's life-force induced tree cells in his body; yet he could not break out of Sasuke MS Genjutsu; he could not even realize he was in one.


Enton could damage the sand if used consistently + Susano'O arrow pierced through Tree Hashirama which is on par with Sand's durability.


Lastly, Sasuke's Chidori Nagashi while getting close to Gaara with Susano'O could electrocute him and paralyze his movements leading to Sasuke successfully striking his ones.

Don't forget: Susano'O can become intangible at the exact same time be tangible as seen when Baku sucked Susano'O Sasuke could fire a fire-ball at him without getting attracted through the opening.........Sasuke low difference win by being a bit generous.
