Actually the clan wasn't officially wiped out to extinction, their village and most of them were destroyed yes. But I read somewhere that some Uzumakis scattered to different villages. IF I'M NOT MISTAKEN. Feel free to prove me wrong though

They were scattered but we don't know them really. We found like 2 others in shippuden and one of them is dead.
So would you count the Uchiha clan being alive then since its got 3 members too?

Well there are 5 known Uzumaki's (Hinata included as she married into the clan) still alive. And Tsunade has also ties to the clan so if we are being optimistic we have 6 of them.

And we don't know where the rest of the clan scattered to. It's nothing but a hypothesis but unlike the uchiha clan, the Uzumaki clan was never confirmed extinct.
