No, Konohamaru made a clear statement that his byakugan have no blindspot implying that even with team effort they would have difficulty time dealing him in close combat.

Ao manage to hold on his own against team 7 without his byakugan activated. Ofc the absorption device helped him greatly in countering ninjutsu which is a concievable use however he also used his own skills in taijutsu to fend for himself and able to perceive in every move except the shadow clone trick and was lured to pick up the Saber which drained alot of his chakra which IMO was a smart move.

You're right, stylez; byakugan sucks; it doesn't have an offensive move of it's own; no matter the chapters being over in Naruto shippuden.

Which is weird because the Byakugan does have a blind spot unless Ao's Byakugan(or former) somehow doesn't.

The reason for it being C0 type is because he said he's not a ninja and pretty much confirmed he's a tool for Kara. Ao dying and taking those who have info in Kara is a win for him just as Deidara's was for Akatsuki.

That's actually a good point, but that'd be a setback since they'll lose a trustworthy outer & they'll have to find someone else to track down the Vessel thus losing even more time.

Yes but Kajin Koji is still around and he has some sort of advanced power which allows him to tell things. In the last chapter he became aware of the konoha nin, their location and plan which he informed Ao about.

That might be partly right but i think, he sent Ao because the dude was a hunter nin, who tracked down and killed missing-nins for some decades.
