As fans(of not just naruto, any manga really) do we analyze and look for things that even the author might not have thought of? Just like the lil things we look for between the lines, off the panels, interpretations, comparing things said at one point to another. I always assume that the author is more into telling the entire story he has than filling in every lil blank? I think Toriyama is the most notorious for this kind of thing, kishis a lot better at fleshing his stuff out but there’s still times I’ll see a thread question that I’m like... well f ck, I don’t even think kishi saw that, or thought about it at the time. Thoughts?

Duh... we obviously do. Only a few Manga writers pay incredible attention to details but even then, plot holes and inconsistincy are sometimes inevitable.

I've always felt Kishi would burst into laughter if he came across a number of the threads on here simply because he wasn't thinking that deep when he drew whatever is being referenced.

Some threads are deeper than deep, they are a dark abyss.

No! Kishimoto is an exceptional author. He pays close attention to details. There are more than a 100 scans with me now to prove how minute-detailing his brain processes. Even the Otsutsuki were foreshadowed in Part 1! I dont know about Toriyama, but Kishi's manga has zero plot-holes, really.

That’s true, what author would you consider one of the few if you don’t mind me asking?

I’ve always wondered this too, like I wonder what they would say if they saw some of the longer winded threads. Hell like the rsm/6 paths one we just had.

Right? It is pretty fun to get into these nuanced discussion sometimes

This is very very true, some rabbit holes you just don’t wanna go down

Toriyamas pretty forgetful to say the least, but he’s usually honest about it, and I can respect that. What makes you think he ootsutsukis where foreshadowed in pt1?

You can misread signs but I definitely think Naruto is one of those intricate series that definitely foreshadows what will happen

Somewhat yes but there are a few threads here that are actually worth looking into but those are rare hidden gems nowadays

Don’t get me wrong I wasn’t trying to say kishi is a bad writer, he was just the main one I used cause it’s a naruto forum

I wasn't saying your insinuating he was a bad writer I'm just saying we have to know what type of story Naruto is and it's more intricate then people give it credit and foreshadows quite literally in black zetsus case:lol

You gotta to be kidding? There were so much things left to be explained but he just finished off manga like nothing happened.

Who created the Shinju Tree and what exactly is it?
Mysterious person in Kaguya's dimension when they fought?
Hashirama's death
Orochimaru backstory
etc.

@Bold was explained in a guide book that came with The Last. The shinju was created like this: Back in the time before Kaguya arrived, humanity was always at war. The blood of the slain poured and seeped into the earth in massive quantities, and this blood gave the earth the nourishment it needed to grow the shinju. Source: Retsu no Sho (the name of the guide book)

OT: Yes, we the fans practically know the series better than Kishi. I once made this analogy. It is like this:

Kishi (while writing the manga): "Hmm... This looks good. Well, time to go home and watch tv"

Us the fans (while reading the manga): This does not add up... If we take into account the Itachi theorem and then divide by the square root of rinnegan, then the integral of rikudou chakara should diverge when integrated with respect to Madara over the entire x-axis, but instead the result is more like the Fourier transform of the Kakashi wave function that was detailed in the sharingan postulate of 1996. This matter requires extensive research and academic review before a paper is published.

As readers it's bound to happen even on a small scale. I myself take deep dives into various aspects of Naruto(and other series). I enjoy dissecting and and finding connections or picking up on hints and foreshadowing that wasn't realized before. How much the author themselves planned out what fans eventually notice or pick up on could only be known through them directly stating said aspects we're deliberate and intentional. Til then we speculate and wait to for the series to prove us wrong or right.

I've always really knew that from just being Narutobase, but I think it really sunk in recently when I was discussing whether Bee had his sword drawn before Minato teleported behind him or if he somehow outsped HIrashin with his sword-drawing speed.

So, curiously, I went back a page to see if he had his sword drawn before the jump or not and I realized...

He mistakenly drew him with Samehada on his back. Even though that was like nearly two decades before he even acquired it.

Kishimoto just doesn't care for the detail that much.

Lol that’s a nice one. He’s not holding it though so there’s that one. I was under the impression minato appeared as more of a threat than anything else since he has already tried to end the lil spat. So bee’s draw speed was that fast huh
