Why original Team 7 have a large fanbase?

That's like saying i can't predict manga sales or WSJ rankings since i don't know the people who're voting. It's not hard when there's plenty of pre-existing information to work with. All i have to do is look at the facts & use logic.

There is pre-exisiting information, That information puts Kakashi/Naruto at three #1 spots and sasuke at Two #1 spots.

Popularity polls dont mean shit though. Iruka is a horrible character and yet placed very well in the polls. You dont have to like a character to admit that hes well written. Sasuke is a very dynamic character and his changes are understandable. Nobody who in his right mind would consider Naruto himself well written. He matures a bit but stays basically the same.
