I think you missed this part were he clearly says he approached transmigrants of both clans. With the Uchiha he saw it as easier because they would only need DNA to awaken the rinnegan. Whereas with Senju they'd need to a fully get the sharingan, which wohld likely need to be an MS at the minimum and replace their own eyes with it. That's way too much work and effort so he went for the easier option.

He still carried on approaching both in hopes of them going for it.

That was never the complicated part, the complication was getting sharingan, then likely MS so it's at full potency, then taking out your own eyes and replacing them. Whereas taking flesh and adding it to yourself doesn't require much effort.

this is false. read chapter 625. Madara tried to convince them peace was unattainable but they denied him in favor of Konoha. what caused the unrest was the village's distrust and prejudice towards them, beginning with Tobirama. this eventually led to the attempted coup against Konoha (but even here some Uchiha disagreed, such as Shisui and Itachi) not to mention Black Zetsu fooled non-Uchiha as well

so yeah, it's not as simple as "Uchiha are weak-minded and easy to manipulate", that isn't true ^^

Well, it took Madara some effort since he achieved Rinnegan before his death as an old man.

The point is, is that it’s easier to obtain the tissue of a senju than it is the kekkai genkai of a Uchiha (requires both eyes and blood of the clan).
