What's your favorite Pokemon generation?

Mines gen 4 since it has some of my favorite Pokemon like infernape and lucario

I'm hearing rumors gen 8 will come out this year and they're changing the mechanics of turned based fighting to more realistic melee free for all type fighting which sounds interesting since the last pokemon game I've played was Pokemon diamond and pearl. xy and sun and moon didn't interest me enough to get.

If they have gen 4 mega evolutions and this new battle mechanics im definitely getting.
