Mei takes this, she can release her jutsu much faster and is more skilled with her Kekkai genkai.
Hiding like a mole will allow her to escape the acid mist because the mist is only present in the atmosphere, not underground. Also punching the ground or using volcano tech could disperse the mist somewhat.

Hiding like a mole doesnt prevent the vapour from seeping into the holes in the ground to take her inside of it. Lava mei can burn through kurotsuchi easily. Her spitting speed is faster and she can spit continuously and melted Madara's Susanoo in V2 version. Her water dragons can split the lime congealing jutsu easily and negate thier solidity.

There is no way Temari can react well enough to cast a ninjutsu considering she will first be caught off guard, will have to turn around and then swing her fan. On the other hand, Kurotsuchi will have the head start due to a preemptive strike, doesn't have to turn around and is far faster than Temari in all forms of speed and reactions. Temari would be lucky to block Kurotsuchi with her fan, let alone have a chance at defending herself. Even if she managed to use her fan as a shield, it isn't durable enough to block Kuro's punch and even if it was, the fan will be taken out of Temari's grasp and smash her.Acid mist was used in an enclosed space and it didn't seep through the walls so this is wrong. Mei can't hit Kurotsuchi with lava and has multipe counters such as evading, going underground or blocking off with a wall. Mei, like Temari, also doesn't have a counter to Kurotsuchi slaughtering her in CQC after emerging from the ground and taking her off guard.
Aren't their repertoire similar? Also why are we assuming Land as the fighting ground, After all it could be the sea?
Also Mei too has earth release so Kurotsuchi isn't gonna have much advantage here. I would give it to Mei.
The OP posted the location and there is no water there. But Mei hasn't showcased any doton ninjutsu. Mei is also versatile but Kurotsuchi can simply one shot her with a punch which Mei is going to get caught offguard by the same way Kinshiki was.
Even if i believe that a Kage can't use hand signs to use doton of almost same power what about Kurotsuchi's visibility? Or MEi washing Kurotsuchi with Water style? Also Kurotsuchi's punch didn't do anything much.
