Yet there are only a very very small minority of politicians who aren't corporate shills and actually care about their constituents.

And all of those who supported the Iraq War should not be in politics.

But let's just bring the numbers to the table in order to be fair:

20 Democrats and 1 Republican voted against the Iraq War.

25 Democrats and 42 Republicans voted in favor of the Iraq War.

Hindsight is 20/20.

I wasn't even mentioning politicians either. I just meant in general. To be against spreading our democracy is to be un-American.

What? That goes directly against what the founding fathers said:

"No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare."
-James Madison

"Peace, commerce and honest friendship with all nations; entangling alliances with none."

-Thomas Jefferson

"History and experience prove that foreign influence is one of the most baneful foes of republican government."
-George Washington

"My ardent desire is, and my aim has been . . . to comply strictly with all our engagements foreign and domestic; but to keep the U States free from political connections with every other Country. To see that they may be independent of all, and under the influence of none. In a word, I want an American character, that the powers of Europe may be convinced we act for ourselves and not for others; this, in my judgment, is the only way to be respected abroad and happy at home."

-George Washington

The general public has their hands in politics more than ever before because of the recent election. I have to disagree with you.

Though at first glance you would seem to be right, I have to disagree with your assertion. Donald Trump’s victory only created sides. Left, Right, and maybe moderates. However, no one in each side is actually discussing political topics, they each just spout group think.

What did we see when politics entered NFL? Americans were pissed off. What happens when celebs discuss politics, we tell them to shut up. What happens when your neighbor discusses politics, you battle them so they can shut up.

Since you use a black man avatar, I assume you are familiar with black politics. How are they brought up compared to, let’s say white politics? Even black people tell other black people to shut up about income inequality, black lives matter, working conditions, reparations, being swayed by false leaders.

Trump has only gotten interest in major elections. No one knows there representives. Their city council. Unless the news paints an election as essential, even though every election should be seen as that, no one cares.

All this Politcal talk facade you hear on the radio, YouTube channels, only leave the audience burned out, and essentially, they get angry that they even have to think about things.

Every great powerful country eventually collapses, it's inevitable. It happened in the history before, and it will continue happening.

"Group think", is an opinionated buzzword; whether you think what they're discussing is group think or not is irrelevant to if they're involved in politics. There's been a major increase in political engagement coming from millenials following Bernie Sander's campaign, we have the rise of progressive ideologies and socialist retcons over the past 40 years on college campuses which has had a massive impact on media and culture over the past 10 years or so. We have the rise of fringe political movements like the alt-right, antifa, a resurgence in communist, and socialist ideologies, nationalism, etc. The United States is under a lot of economic and social duress, and as a result, people are jumping into politics in order to find a resolution. Political involvement is at an all time high, and everything you're pointing out to me about race wedge issues proves my point.

What it sounds like your saying is that because people aren't involved in formal politics, e.i. "making a change within the current system through current politicians", that they're not truly involved, which I think is false. Most of the political uprise seeks to restructure the system entirely or destroy the system, not work through it. You're not going to see Ancomms, or the alt-right calling their local senator to see their ideas come to fruition. That's a one dimensional view of political involvement.

The US will not collapse even in the next 100 years. There is a vast difference between the US and past superpowers. America has a stable political system that runs through checks and balances, and this ensures the chances of national revolt or civil war nearly impossible. Past superpowers were run through dictatorship and monarchy.

America dominates the world in every way you could think of, whether it be technology, entertainment and culture.

1. America is home of the biggest of food and agricultural chain in the world.
2. America is home of Silicon Valley - the biggest tech companies in the world.
3. America is home of the biggest entertainment industry - Hollywood, Disney, tourism etc.
4. America is home to the financial sectors of the world - Wall Street.
5. America is home to the biggest motors, airplanes, space programmes and so on.
6. America is the largest economic and military power the world has ever seen.
7. America is home to the best universities, hospitals and research centers.

Virtually everything humans use is made in America and because of global dependency on the US for needs and wants, the US will remain superpower forever. That is the difference between America and superpowers before, and the reason why the US will remain superpower for probably 200 years.

Not because minorities. Not because SJWs. Not because of feminism. Not because of trans acceptance. Not because racism. List goes on and on.

The U.S. will collapse because the citizens hate to talk politics. What has happened? People would rather be distracted, intentionally, so they don’t have to think about policies. That makes a GREaT recipe for a civilized society.

The US will collapse because it's in the last stage of empire. To understand that better you must kbow the 7 stages of an Empire. It's overwhelming debt and fiat monetary system(debasement of it's citizen's purchasing power) amongst many other reasons will be the main drivers in it's fall.

I know it's not the main subject of this thread but I gotta ask: Aren't people afraid of the San Andreas fault in USA? My geology teacher said it's about to crack in anytime.

Well even though the thead is heavily geared toward politics, natural disasters are included in the category of fallen nations as well. So you’re not too off topic. It could definitely happen. Look at Japan. They almost bit the big one with that massive chain of earthquakes few years back

The tectonic plates have been accumulating energy for a long time. Unfortunately it's gonna be a bad scenario when the "big one" happens.
