Or will he be the last one? Cus if the village is destroyed again maybe it wont be rebuilt. Maybe so many people will die that the village will just disappear?

the Hokage faces being destroyed means no

Even if they wanted to there’s not enough mountain to recarve the faces due to the damage

& Boruwaki already confirmed shinobi era is over.

As far as a leader in general goes though, Sarada will still be the leader of whatever’s next.

The only way that there wouldn't be another Hokage is if the Boruto manga follows through with Sasuke's goal at the end of Naruto and completely disassembles the Shinobi way of life as we currently know it. I'm not saying that can't happen, but I think currently that kind of progress/change would be a little too radical and immediate to happen within a single generation.

Plus if that was the intention then the manga/anime/movie wouldn't have even bothered to put such a heavy emphasis on Sarada wanting to become Hokage and Boruto wanting to be her support.

This is true. Perhaps instead of Sarada becoming Hokage perhaps she and Boruto and maybe the Daimyo will make some kind of Republic hierarchy. This ending the whole ninja village Kage setup in place now.....

....Maybe Sasuke will get his revolution after all:bdpf:

I mean we know Sarada wants to be Hokage but dreams can change. And true it maybe too soon now. But before Sarada’s generation even reaches that age Konohamaru’s era will most likely take leadership first so it would be more like 2 generations before such a drastic change but still I agree it may be a bit too radical a change for the Boruto manga

I agree that would be radical for a 3-4 year span but depends on what goes down. Kara has been plotting for some time.

& they could easily put all that emphasis just to crush those dreams as a twist. Something like a red herring. It’d be a nice contrast to Naruto series where the MCs all reached their goal.

I meant single generation as in going from established hierarchy to *poof* no hierarchy within a single generation (in the general sense). Again, it would make perfect sense in context of what the manga has introduced for the Shinobi way of life as we know it to become a thing of the past - but it would be a process that would span across multiple generations.

Another way to look at things is to look at how much progress was made within Naruto's generation, because if you really look back at the tech/Shinobi world structure in Ch.1 of Naruto and compare it to Ch.700 there really hasn't been much change. Even the tech in Ch.700/beginning of Boruto wasn't all that much different from the tech we've seen over the course of Naruto, there's just more of it. I'd say probably the most progressive change by the time of Boruto was the inclusion of air-travel (blimps to be precise) and even that isn't very significant when you look at the grand scheme of things.

I'd be impressed and happy if the manga becomes bold enough to subvert our expectations and plays with the narrative troupes of Naruto, but honestly I have yet to catch even a hint at anything that smart/bold from either the Boruto manga or the anime.

Of course they'll still be kages in the series. That's literally a huge point in the series in general. Can't have someone goal to he a kage and have the MC wanting to support that kage and end up not having a kage.
