All he did was stream lightning through his chain. There is nothing here to say that it was chidori. You're just reaching to make a point. we've seen chidori done without handseals so your evidence is weak.

The events in The Last took place two years after the war so he already had it.

Purple lightning is a discount version of Chidori. If it was as powerful, he would have used it to destroy the meteor, but instead, he just stood there, helpless, while Sasuke did the job with his Chidori.

If you're implying that kakashi can only use the chidori when he has the sharingan then you're very wrong. Kakashi made the chidori a very long time before obito gave him the sharingan therefore your argument is mute. Because he used a different lightning style jutsu in the recent episode doesn't mean he lost the ability to use chidori, its because that lightning technique was more suited for the situation.

Now, the real argument is the fact that, yes, kakashi was unable to destroy that meteor but not because of some false rumor that he cant use chidori anymore. Its because without the sharingan he cant form a susanoo therefore he cant increase the power of his chidori. Which is probably why he was scared because he realized in that split moment without the sharingan he cant perform colossal acts anymore, his just a regular shinobi like everyone else now. Now the only reason sasuke was able to destroy that meteor is because well his over powered. We all know kishimoto always writes himself into corners, well just like madara sasuke is the same way, his too powerful. Rinnesharingan with eternal mangekyo, perfect susanoo, mastery over blaze release, its HIGHLY likely he used way more than just a regular chidori during that section of the movie.

raiton : shinden is a complete multi purpose jutsu . can do everything from close range attack , medium-long range attack , area attack , and become an armor aura around user for defense . it may not be powerful in damage output than raikiri but it still S+ rank jutsu .
chidori/raikiri do more damage because it require direct contact . user must run strange to target with full speed > only useful again retard and fodder enemy without sharingan

in naruto multi purpose jutsu > single purpose jutsu in rank . even if it do less damage
invented some single purpose jutsu isn't too hard . but multi purpose jutsu is another story not much people can do it .
