Gai/Lee fights are one of the reasons why this series blew up in the Chunin Examinations. Iconic asf Rock Lee v. Gaara.

forshadowed a year ago in the anime and Kishi said he was forced to cut a third otsutsuki. and like i said That third Otsutsuki may be just for the backstory.

He said how he was entrusted with power, that could be from the clan. What 123 has been spouting is that Kishimoto cut out a whole character cause he couldn't fit him in to the movie. As usual failing to actually show when that was said. Even in the new interview with the author of Boruto, were nothing of the sort is mentioned (from what I've read).

Sorry to burst your bubble but it was stated millions of time that the anime version is what the movie should have been given time, so it's canon

In an interview they said that the Boruto Movie was supposed to be longer, but they had to scrap Kishimoto's ideas for running time
