That's because neither Sasuke nor Naruto as genins could do that. That's why i believe Boruto didn't touch or catch the real bell as i confirmed in the OP

Yeah I know it was Kakashi initiating the replacement which requires high speed movement (body flicker) the bell is going to bounce and make a noise obviously. If you look at how his hands wrapped around it. If he had it in his grasp Kakashi would never have been able to use replacement jutsu without losing the bell.

The episode was great i'm not denying it. but i'm just pointing out that Boruto's didn't touch it. I didn't say the episode is bad or anything like that i really like Boruto vs Kakashi. It was a solid episode as expected from Boruto anime greatness
