It really shows you how different each generation lived and what they went through. I liked pt 1 more, but I think Boruto is fine the way it is going.

Naruto's class started out by graduating from the academy and actually becoming ninjas from the first episode.
Boruto's series started from their first day of the academy.

Yeah so far Boruto is nowhere near as good as Naruto. The build is super freaking slow, if it weren't for the fact that I'm a Naruto fan, like if Boruto had been the first to come out, I'd have become disinterested long ago. The only thing to keep me coming back is the fact that Naruto and Naruto Shippuden were so good.

Better a couple intertwined filler episodes in between major events than the two years of filler arcs leading to Shippuden.

I mean c'mon, lets not pretend the original series is perfect her. Boruto's high moments might not reach up to its high moments, but its low points will never be quite as low either.

These. Keep in mind this isn’t an age of war for Boruto and company. They didn’t have to worry about the stuff Naruto’s gen did. Villages aren’t out to get each other. And Kaguya and BZ with his ageless scheming are sealed away.

But obviously the Otsutsuki clan will become active down the road and Boruto will grow up and situations and themes will gravitate to a more mature level.....I kind of fear what Ike is going to do with Sarada’s design when she is a late teen/Adult...shutter

Regardless, it's not as good. You can be entertaining without being edgy, but most of the time Boruto just isn't.

Naruto episode is better although I liked Inojin's personal struggle it was good. The rest of the BS was annoying and took away from the episode as a whole.
