Anime has its own story compared to manga. Manga eye is most likely the Byakugan. Second image is just some SP guy art. Thats irrelevant .Kishi did the same with BOruto having 2 Byakugan eyes and we know that is not true.
And I don't know how this even matters.

I don't understand the argument.
Boruto Chapter 1 (Flash Forward) and the Boruto Anime episode 1 (first few minutes) are the exact same plot.
The difference is that the Boruto Anime starts when Boruto and his classmates are in the Academy, but the story itself will converge sooner or later.
And that SP guys art is the one who animated the Boruto v. Kawaki fight.
Kishimoto's art is the actual difference as Boruto has two special eyes and not one, so it's irrelevant now I guess.
It's not a Byakugan but, at that time it was not the Jougan either. Since theu came up with the Jougan months after chapter 1 of the Manga was out. They wanted a doujutsu for him obviously, but I'm pretty sure they didn't just want it to be a Byakugan but a mutated form of it or something like that.

It's simply common sense. The Anime Writer details the story (for the Anime), but Ukyo is the supervisor for the story. He's the one who actually writes the story of Boruto (source), as he's listed as the source material for the original work (translation I posted above):

Here is my take on this. I don't think Joagan is completely new dojutsu. I also don't think it's "The Byakugan" since ofc it has some different qualities to it. Still It has some certain traits of the Byakugan. Some people think Joagan is not the mutation or the variation style of the Byakugan simpily because it has "no veins" however This isn't any unprecedented if we look at Toneri w/ Tenseigan.
Or the initial movie design with Momoshiki.

Even with the manga retcons, Momoshiki had a golden Byakugan without any signs of veins.
On top of that, if we can deduce the difference with these particular dojutsu between Joagan, normal byakugan and golden byakugan by simply ignoring the spectrum of colors and the veins, the concept design closely resembles to each other just by mere fact that mark on the dojutsu has incomplete circle where the pupil would be.
Which means the only major difference is when they implanted the colors scheme and inverse.
In other word, if we go with the VIZ translation, we can't ignore what Momoshiki had stated that he has the "blood of the byakugan"
