If Ao was dead, and then brought back then I think it'd be a smoother and more believable situation. In that respect, considering his entire body wasn't we can assume the others' bodies weren't either, and that could mean that while the explosion was close, it wasn't a pin-point hit. I guess, Ino pops could still be alive. He'd make the most sense imo.
