I think there's a difference between making a place/person canon (like Raiga) and referencing actual events. The movie would be canon in the latter case.

The guy who writes the manga supervises the anime. Now you have anime-exclusive characters showing up in the manga, characters referencing the events of the manga, and both Kishi and Ukyo working on and referring to the anime as legit. It can't get more obvious.

Like I said, one is a location, the other is actual events. Raiga and his Kiba swords being made canon doesn't mean the fillers he appeared in are, but this is directly referencing the anime's events.

There's a lot more than that to distinguish the two tbh. Like the simple fact that Ukyo is working on both versions of Bolt. Though it's whatever at this point. The authors themselves give no damns about filler/canon, even Kishimoto has made filler content canon.

It's still confusing to follow and redundant like well watch the mist arc and then read a year later. I don't like how the anime/manga don't follow each other. But hey maybe it will all make sense in the end and be 2 stories that cone together. Either way it'll be more boruto in the end. I'll just wait awhile longer to watch can't go week to week. And the manga is only monthly. But filler will definitely exist. As long as it's good and not the same flashback for the 10th time I'll be alright. Or is it filler because it's not following the manga
