Boruto is set to enter a filler arc following the completion of its ‘Naruto Gaiden’ arc, but Shinki’s anime debut appears to loom ahead. The character was introduced in Naruto: Boruto the Movie, but fans expect the anime to readapt the film moving forward. Boruto’s manga contains some extra scenes which the movie overlooked, and they will become important to the anime’s building conflict. If the show does redo the Boruto movie, Shinki will be asked to return, and fans will get to watch an important missing scene between himself and Gaara.

I mean that all of Gaara's children are adopted including Shinki. With thast being said magnet release is a kekki genial, meaning the only people who should be able to wield it are people who share the same blood.
If Shinki is adopted how could he use the magnet release kekki genkai?

I doubt it be temari's child, she wouldn't separate her children (a mother wouldn't do that).

It could be kankuro's child. For the longest hes been portrayed as bachelor kind of guy. Even in Gaara's light novel it was showed that the sand were pressed that the leaf would children thus having a legitimate claim to the kage title.gaara even turned to kankuro who basically said no dude you do it.

This info only appeared in the boruto movie novel, but it makes the most sense imo. It said Shinki is from the same clan as the third Kazekage.
