Do you think a non surprised Boruto could dodge Sarada's Gaiden CES Punch?!

It seems people keep on mentioning CES Punches as if they are the end all, be all.

So I want to get people's opinions.... There is a POLL as well.


Boruto as a Genin (So Post Giaden). Would he be able to dodge this if he was paying attention. So not a surprise attack... and not him just standing there not knowing what a CES punch does.

At most saradas punch would make boruto lose his center of balance but I'm sure he would be effected and if she tried him it won't land so her attack would have no effect on him

Sakura always failed to land a successful hit with her CES punches unless the target is diverted and not paying attention to her or without using sneak attacks. If Sarada is the same then its a definite no, if not then depends on her's and Boruto's skills.

The ground punching is overrated as ****! When I ever go in a VS thread where Sakura and Tsunade in all I keep seeing is "punch the ground and its GG" BS. As if there attacks would be any different from the snakes attack that was easily evaded by a ****ing pig.

Her punches only become dangerous when she leaps high which anyone can prevent by attacking her while she is in mid-air and even if she managed to build up momentum and hit the ground, It is not like her strikes are inescapable. Ninjas were shown to jump 80+ meters high in the air so I see no reason to why her strike would finish anyone who can leap high fast enough before her punch reach the ground.

The ground punching can help in maneuvering opponent, making him stagger, losing his balance and leaving him open for a direct hit. So it has it's uses in combat and it can finish the opponent. But it ain't all that.

So to answer your question, yes, he can evade her punch easily.

Sarada has Sharringan though so her overall ability to target someone compared to Sakura is vastly different

but this thread is about punching the ground or an environment attack and the ability to dodge it


looking at the panel the punch leads to an incline upwards the farther the surface area is from Sarada

so you would have to jump higher if you are farther away

Sakura sucks, now that we got that out the way, yes Boruto would easily be able to avoid Sarada's CES punch from above. There's multiple ways for him to do so, the most effective being to hit her with an invisible rasengan while she's in mid air. He could also simply jump out of the way just like Naruto did against the snakes or intercept her in the air with a shadow clone or hit her with triple thunder. Like I said, there's multiple ways.

The examples in OP don't really matter since they are different characters with different levels of physical ability, but to answer the question...yes, Boruto easily dodges. Or when she lunges he intercepts with Vanishing Rasengan.

Yes everyone who isn´t a some version of fodder clone with zero reflexes would dodge that. Even Chiyo did the same against 3 Kazekage attack which works in same way as this one.

CES potency is based mainly on the chakra inputted not the momentum, so no. CES can be harmful even without the leap.

OT: Maybe, Sarada's CES + sharingan's perception means she has a chance to deliver the kill.
