Yes they would they were militarily weak at that time suffering huge casualties during the 3rd war and Minato was dead. Wicked eyed Fugaku and the Uchiha were isolated by the elders so the Uchiha wouldn't help. Konoha has 0 military might to challenge kumogakure at that time or the stomach for such a large scale conflict. They couldn't do anything really and kumogakure wouldn't surrender her without a fight.
Danzo may have tried a few tactics but the security level around Hinata would've been too much for even him.

That's reality you tell me how konoha would've retrieved Hinata? kumogakure who knew they were risking war didn't give care and still went after her. They even threatened war for the loss of their man you really think they'd let it slide and say you can have her back were sorry.

You really think they'd let konoha near her. When the cloud stole her it would've been unexpected. Once they had her she'd be under maximum security. Any other suggestions

It'd be a covert ops. And Konoha had expert infiltrators like Jiraiya. He alone can accomplish the entire mission if it comes to that. Then there is Danzo who'd want to prevent the cloud getting there hands on the byakugan so clearly Konoha has many options.

They just wanted a Hyuga dead for the loss of one of their own shinobi, two eyes for transplanting, and a body for experimentation. They would have much preferred to kidnap anyone alive who was defenseless, Hinata was three, there was no potential for anyone to see at all.
True, but Sasuke had a more important role in the story. Realistically, plenty of people would have tried kidnapping Sasuke. He probably wouldn't have made it into his Genin rank before being taken away.
Also my boy Itachi could do that if Hiruzen told him . And he'd neg diff Kumogakure for good

Funny but I just realized how sick the Hidden Cloud was. Funny how you can't make observations about things anymore without people accusing you of something. Eh, information isn't always comfortable and no one likes to be the bearer of odd, sick, twisted news that no one figured out yet.
