Sasuke is trying to find clues on the OOtsutski but Toneri knew Momo and co were coming before even Sasuke
literally most of Sasuke's answers could likely be solved if he just went and talked to Toneri

Tobirama knew about Onmyoudon even though he doesn't wield it, Toneri's knowledge could've come from seeing Hamura with the Jougan, which is why Neji is the best option to be the teacherThe fact he knew the name and referred to it as the "star of hope" obviously means he has some insight.
Omnyoudon means shadow/light or Yin/Yang, alot of high class ninja are versed in yin/yang release. Toneri knows alot more than people believe, can't wait until plot moves along. Nope, Yin-Yang release is a KKG, it's combining two affinities into one jutsu and only Rikudou users can perform the feat. Same goes with Hamura and the Hyuga, main branch has knowledge over certain things normal people aren't supposed to know. I.e : They are the only ones that know how to seal dojutsu similar to the seal used on Kaguya.
