I can't see myself following any of the religions on that list as they have some pretty questionable texts.

I'm surprised no one said it yet, but Jainism. It's easily the most peaceful, unimposing religion on earth. They believe in reincarnation and karma like buddhist, eat vegan/vegetarian, and follow the simple principles of non-violence, celibacy, honesty, sincerity, and humility. It's basically Buddhism-lite, minus the chakras, Buddha, and deities, so there's no dogma or infallible dictates by an all powerful and angry God.

Some Jains do things like wear masks over their mouth to prevent swallowing and killing any potential microbes and bugs, and always keep their attention split between what's ahead of them and the ground to avoid stepping on any insects.

In its most extreme form, they practice non-violence to the point where they won't shower to avoid killing bacteria that live on their bodies and hair, or fast for extended periods of time to near points of death. I think I'll be fine with being a moderate Jain, although celibacy would be a hard obstacle to overcome.

I would choose Islam because it is the one true religion : if you are true to yourself and search for the absolute truth you will realize why I choose islam as my religion

The religion is not chosen usually. You are born into one because your parents/grandparents/etc have a religion. To change it and choose something else means to disrespect them. I wouldn't change my religion never because i am sure is a reason that i was born a christian orthodox. Besides there is one God no matter how you call Him.

Disrespect? Why? If you don't believe and care why you should be disrespect?

You probably wouldn't be missing out on much tbh. (jk)

There really aren't many other religion that dont inhumane dictates from a totalitarian god, or have whimsical mythology that's too far from reality to take seriously. My second choice of a religion behind Jainism would probably be Taoism which is the irl version of being a Jedi and believing in the force, but taoism feels like more of a life philosophy than a religion (if you ignore all the magical cult shit).

When it comes to celibacy though, I think there some major benefits in terms of detaching yourself from the primal urge to procreate. It's sorta like Buddha who detached himself from all mortal desires like hunger, greed, etc. and freed himself from suffering, thus becoming enlightened. It would be challenge, but it would worth it in the end, at least imo.

Do you really believe in something else? If you are not religious at all and you believe in Darwin 110% that doesn't mean that the believers from your family who decided for you the same religion as theirs are wrong. It is a generation different pov and in the same time you cannot prove that you are right. That's why the atheists should respect even a "stupid" believer.
My english can be not enough for what I think so if my reply doesn't have much sense, my bad...

Parents should teach children how to think, not what to think, religion only keeps a narrow view of reality unchanged for years.

religion has protected people though, albeit it has in the past narrowed peoples perspective and ostracized groups but its perfectly rational to be scientific and religious at the same time in present time

Neither.

Judaism mentions bestiality a lot.
Christianity is an offshoot of JEWdaism.
Islam is the worst religion ever.

Do Tunisian Christians enjoy total freedom of religion? I'm not bashing, just genuine curiosity

OT: Christianity, I'm Roman Catholic. If I were to choose a Christian denomination I'd never choose anything protestant btw
Nice Fanfic

On the topic, I don't see my self in a religion to be honest. I am too rebellious

Well, I'm not into any religion, but if I had to choose, I guess christianity. Most of my family is into that and because of that it is the one I'm most familiar with, so that'd work.
