Hopefully you're not referring to the finger thing because Tsunade makes it clear before Naruto charges her that a single finger would be enough to handle him.
As for the bold i'm not looking to resort to anything..i just think battling is different when the opponent uses/can be your counter. Give Rock lee a lightning enhanced kunai and he wins against Gaara in the CE because lightning > earth and he easily pierces through the weaker armor of sand.
